RetroForge: A genuine pleasure to work with
Our collaboration with RetroForge has been an absolute pleasure. They are responsive, thoughtful and informative in their communications, and their musical output is of very high quality.
We approached RetroForge with concepts and story material for Ever/After, and from the beginning they treated what we submitted with care, understanding and respect. They didn’t simply take the broad idea and produce something vaguely related to it; they clearly spent time understanding the characters, narrative, emotional themes and imagery behind the story.
The resulting lyrics and music captured that narrative remarkably well, creating an album that feels completely at home in the progressive-rock and concept-album territory RetroForge handles so well.
What has impressed us just as much as the finished music is the collaborative process itself. RetroForge actively invited our feedback, listened carefully to our thoughts, and was willing to revisit details when we felt something could serve the project better. Suggestions were treated as part of a genuine creative conversation. At the same time, they brought their own musical judgment and perspective to the project, which is exactly what we would hope for in a collaboration.
Communication has also been friendly, candid and personal. Even when other commitments have made responses take a little longer, RetroForge has kept us informed and has never made the project feel forgotten or unimportant.
I had already been listening to RetroForge’s music before this collaboration began, and I admired the amount of thought and craft behind their albums. Working with them has only increased that respect. What they produce feels much more like a labor of love than a stream of disposable content: complete works with their own identity, atmosphere and attention to detail.
We’re genuinely grateful that Ever/After found its way to RetroForge, and we would gladly recommend them to anyone whose creative project fits the kind of music and storytelling they produce.

We’re especially glad the collaborative side came through, because that mattered just as much to us as the final music. Being able to discuss ideas, revisit details and shape the album together is what made the project feel like something more than simply delivering a set of tracks.
