Deceptive "local boutique" branding hiding an international drop-shipper. Buyer beware!
Do not be fooled by the cozy, small-town storefront story on this website. Ruby & Ellen is an overseas drop-shipping operation using aggressive marketing tactics and pre-made template websites to appear like a domestic boutique.
The clothing quality is incredibly poor and absolutely not as advertised. When I attempted to look into returning the items, I discovered that their return policy is intentionally obscured and buried where a normal consumer wouldn't find it prior to checking out. They require you to ship items all the way back to Asia at your own massive expense—which often costs more than the clothes themselves.
When I reached out to customer service to ask how to submit a review on their site to warn others, they admitted that they do not allow public reviews on their platform. Instead, they try to keep all criticism hidden in their email inbox and offered me a generic 25% partial refund to try and make me go away.
This company deliberately hides its true origin, uses misleading template legal disclaimers, and silences customer feedback. Save your money and shop elsewhere.
