This coffee shop has no accessible outlets. Don’t work or study here.
I really like that this coffee shop has multiple locations through the central coast that have really good coffee and host an environment where people can gather and feel like they are in community for customers. The staff is kind and accommodating.
Today I drove to Morro Bay to work from a different environment and I was reminded that this coffee shop does not have outlets available to customers. For someone who cannot afford to buy a laptop with a better battery, this absolutely limited my work time to the hour I had with my battery, forcing me to leave. the public should be aware that Scout coffee covers up all the plugs in their coffee shops as a cost cutting and people moving mechanism to limit your time in the coffee shop. For someone like myself, this disrupts the illusion of inclusive community and makes the purpose of a coffee shop as a third space irrelevant.
They do offer WiFi to drain your batteries faster however.
