I wasn't sure if this was worth it at…
I wasn't sure if this was worth it at first, but it ended up being a great decision. Knowing that I had coverage for the weather made my planning so much less stressful. It's one of those things you hope you don't need, but it's such a relief to have when the forecast looks uncertain. Really satisfied with the staff and how straightforward everything was This was actually my 5nd time using them. 😊

Fantastic idea and inexpensive
We ended up not needing it thank goodness but it was great to have especially camping. The only complaint I have is I booked another camping trip and forgot to hit the sensible weather and they do not let you “add” it after!

It didn’t rain so I really don’t have experience with the sensible weather. It did not rain it was beautiful.

Very good service
Very good service. Gives you some peace of mind when planning for a camping trip. Usually book far in advance so this is a fairly priced product.

The regurments for payouts are unrealistic
It rained all day from the night befor tell like 4am the next day and still rained off and on the next day and still no payout the whole day was runined and you was stucked insaid not doing much and still no payout. Talked to customer service and they didnt care to hear me out overall yes its cheap and peace of mine the the requirements for payment is unreal iv used this alot and the one time I figured I would get a payout I was told no after I placed my 1 star review and complaints with customer service they did end up sending me a reimbursement for the one day. I'll give them 2 cause they did end up paying but it shouldn't have been that hard when everywhere is under a flood warning and county roads are flooded

Do not purchase - SCAM
We have purchased this several times over 2-3 years. I will never purchase again. This is a scam. Yesterday, June 26th, it rained all day except for maybe a total of 2 hours. We had water standing 1-2 inches in our campsite. We had flash flood warnings for our area. However, we were told that this did not qualify according to their records for us to get reimbursed. This is a joke and I would recommend that no one purchase this. This is the second time something like this has happened.

Poor communication and hidden terms
They offer coverage for rain on camping trips but have hidden in their terms of service that any modification to your trip will cancel the entire coverage plan (and this is extremely poorly communicated by Hipcamp as well) and require you to purchase an entirely new one, which negates the purpose of getting a weather refund to begin with. This results in easily lost money if you're like the 99% of people who don't read through the fine print. Can't say I'd recommend again; doesn't seem worth it.

The Guarantee is based off dates and the location, so unfortunately modifications will typically cause a cancelation as the offer would need to adjust to match the updated trip details. No refund for 6 hours of rain
Was on chicoteague island in Virginia 6/23/26 rained from 3pm to 10:30pm-
Thunderstorms and heavy rain per NOAA
2.19 . They claimed it did not meet the 1.5mm for payment. This site is such a scam. On 6/19/26 it drizzled and I was paid. But not for heavy rain during 8am-8pm
DO NOT BUY THIS INSURANCE FROM THIS COMPANY. IT'S A SCAM
