They couldn't finish onboarding — but asked me for a referral
I joined Sherwin Currid in November 2025 looking for a fresh start after a poor experience elsewhere. What followed was months of unkept promises and an onboarding that was never completed.
Payroll was never set up despite being flagged as a priority from day one. A promised meeting to discuss tax efficiency never happened. FreeAgent access was the only thing that materialised. I was three months in, paying fees, with no basic infrastructure in place and chasing constantly for any visible progress.
When I set a clear deadline and held them to account, they terminated the engagement — framing it as a mutual fit issue rather than acknowledging the service had not been delivered.
The final confirmation of how they operate came months later when Martyn personally emailed asking me to recommend their services — while their admin team simultaneously sent me a self assessment request, unaware I was no longer a client.
If you want an accountant who is proactive, delivers on promises, and takes accountability seriously — look elsewhere.
