HOME STAPLE - GREAT CINNAMON TWISTS
This location is one of two that existed in this small deteriorating community and that can be the light of the day due to the treat offerings (mainly for me the donut holes and the cinnamon twists and occasionally the cinnamon rolls). Yes, the town while attempting to be revitalized deteriorated from what we knew as an aspiring place to be held proudful of prior to that 1927 flooding and the SUBSEQUENT shift in family dynamics. No matter what, one can always go there and find a glimpse of the 70's baby charm and 80's ladies growth towards self-reliance and building a better direction for men and women alike despite the inherent changes that resulted after numerous versions of a disaster be it natural or mankind or a combination thereof. It was around when we hiked the levee, it was around when we walked from highschool to home and it was around when your went on a family shopping trip to the old downtown. It is there in a different building but it is still reflective of some of the old families that were the glue that held this city together back then. Many died recently sadly enough but going to that place brings about a since of goodness that still hangs around when you look at how they have stood the rest of time as have several other truly localized small businesses that stood the test of time even through that horrible pandemic. One would hate what would happen if this one were to close permanently so try what works best for you the bigger small business model with a fixed standard recipe or the real small business with that goodness that gives you a burst of sweet energy from hard labor and driven by their standards as are others you don't see but can catch a glimpse of if you check those forever bright lights and colors you see coming your way throughout Greenville, MS the home of so many other small businesses that grew up and while not here or their owners passed on, they left a legacy behind for those that followed them and that keep places like this one open for the nostalgia of days gone by.
