This would have to be the absolute worst company in NZ today ! Emails that bounce back say we don’t monitor this email . Links in emails that don’t link . Appalling customer service. You should be ashamed of yourselves! My advice, do not join!

🤢 Don't even bother - honestly avoid like the plague! 15 + years (we recon more towards 20!) with Slingshot, and as a busy family using them for work and home, we've noticed worse and worse service and customer service and absolutely no inventive or discounts offered freely. We essentially had to fight for any 'deal' they DO NOT value loyalty. Over the last year or so we have had regular drop outs with our land phone line and slow internet and customer service DO NOT CARE... they take your money and don't actually deserve being supported. Now they're taking an extra $250 to finally leave!!! ABSOLUTELY GOOD RIDDANCE.... you will not be missed

Was yelled at by customer service when trying to ask what was going on with my billing. He had a thick accent I couldn’t understand so asked him nicely to tell me again. He yelled at me and implied I was stupid because I couldn’t understand him. Also they overcharged me for my final month and are refusing to refund me

Slingshot internet is so laggy and crappy charging huge prices for super fast internet and it’s so slow , customer service representative's speak really bad English and don’t know what the hell they are doing, they need people who can speak better English and power prices via slingshot are outrageous !!! This company will eventually fall if they don’t sort there customer service out, you have to repeat yourself a hundred times before they get it’ ridiculous!

Serious Service Failure, Incorrect Debt Listing
Their team really don't know what they doing and how to handle customer query. My account was closed and cleared with Slingshot in 2024 , and they charged $5 in error after closing of account. They sent just one email of invoice, and I never got access to login into my Slingshot account once my account was closed. Few months later in 2025, they sent another email of apologies, saying it was charged in error and we credited your account. Somehow, it took them 6-7 months to realise it was their fault and they entered my account in bad debt for few months. They never followed up, no letter, no email for collection notice, never bothered to correct my credit, or never sent any reminder of anything. I was unaware of any credit Arrears until my refinance application lodged with bank, and they informed me.
This year on 09/01 I contacted and asked them what is wrong with my account. CS team advised Sorry, it was our fault, you will be getting formal letter from our credit team by 14/01/2026, stating it was our error. I didn't receive any letter, I contacted them again on 14/01, they kept me on call for literally 60 minutes. During these 60 minutes, I been transferred 6 times between Customer team, and 3 collection team. 6 different people asked me to verify account details, name and address, and all were saying, our team is not the correct one to help, we will put you thro another team. 2x people gave me conflicting answers, one said it will take 2-3 weeks to get formal letter from us and another one said 30 Business days. I asked them to send me a email if you lodge this as a case, and all they provided with case number only visible to their eyes, no written confirmation of case such as email or message with case number reference sent to my account
I never seen such unprofessional and untrained team in my entire life. Not even for single second I feel, they value customer or they know how their one error impacting someone's life.

Thier new policy on Mobile Carry Over Data Plans.
Your carryover data does not get used first.
They use your monthly Data First and and then use your carryover Data once you monthly Data is used up.
This way your Carryover Data is not renewed each month and every month any Data that reaches the 12 month period is lost (in other wards stolen and re-sold)
SLINGSHOT DON'T LOOK AFTER YOU!
Tried a simple exercise to shift my broadband to a new house when I move. After 4 weeks of emailing them I've had no response. The online option is to click 'broadband' then click 'moving house'. Their link doesn't work. I've again emailed several times. No response. I've now joined OneNZ's service and not only was I offered $15 cheaper a month but got signed up straight away. No such service from Slingshot after 9 years of being a loyal customer!!

Slingshot definitely takes advantage of the elderly, wish we had looked into it before my mother passed away. She was being charges over $100.00 per month just for her broadband, then her power was si expensive, we have now changed companies, after my mum passed they would not cancel the broadband without a death certificate and that takes months to get so they wanted us to pay for a service that we are not using.

Dogshit company, Spent ages getting it setup so i was authorized to talk to them because my parents new nothing. now all of sudden my names not on the list and i cant even talk to them about the account what a joke

Terrible would not recommend this company for broadband.
There service keeps dropping and interrupted then you have 20 different agents that deal with you each time and dosent solve the problem. End up paying the month bill for interrupted broadband. Go elsewhere

Very disappointed with Slingshot broadband. The Wi-Fi connection is extremely poor and unreliable. On top of that, the customer service is terrible—no one answers phone calls, and it’s nearly impossible to get any help or support. Would not recommend this service to others.

I moved houses in March 2025 and told Slingshot I need my internet and power moved in the beginning of Feb 2025.
Moving day comes no power and no internet, I call talk to people, they promise they will get it fixed and moved the next morning.
The next morning still nothing.
I called another provider to get our internet and power on.
I called Slingshot again to close my account as they clearly have no idea what they are doing.
In April I get an invoice for the router, I call them they say I didn't send the router back and I said I know I'm still waiting on the courier bag.
Slingshot goes through my details on their system and it's still not updated.
I update my details over the phone they promise to send me the bag to send the router back.
May I get invoiced again for the router and I still haven't received the bag.
I call them again, my details still not updated in their system, the lady updated my details again and sent me the courier bag and promised to credit my account for the 2months I was charged after I closed my account.
I received the bag and sent the router bag in May.
Today I get an email saying I need to pay Slingshot or it's going on my credit record with debt collectors.
I call them again and they don't know if they have received the router and they won't give me the credit note and I also can't pay the "overdue" balance to get it off my name.
So in short they have no idea what's going on in the office or warehouse.
My credit record is going to be affected because they refuse to resolve this issue.
I don't know what to do.
I've emailed them multiple times in the last 4 months to get this resolved and it's still not resolved.

Fault # 34843123 logged yesterday. 48 hours still no wifi. Slingshot no follow up. Poor customer service. I called Chorus myself only to find out that Slingshot connected my fibre box to another address. Was I paying for someone else to use Wifi.

Wrongful Billing for Disconnected Customer
Slingshot have billed me when I have provided 30 days notice and moved to a different internet provider. I have emailed Slingshot and they responded that I have to pay with little regard to the situation. This is a clear breach of the Fair Trading Act. People who set up direct debit and do not pay attention to their bills will fall for this scam. Slingshot should be ashamed of their poor customer service and business practice.
Hopeless Customer Care
Hopeless Customer Care. The customer service person "Anna" seemed unfriendly and least interested in knowing what is the issue I am facing. Looks like she was forcing herself to work. (Spoke on 10/5/25 between 0800 am and 0840 am.) Listen to call recording if your company cares. At the end of call i asked to speak to a supervisor and she said the supervisor declined the call as I was unauthorized on my wife's account ????? would not know why. Shame on slingshot, if a supervisor does not want to hear what a incoming caller wants to express regardless of who's on the account. Will cancel this service straight away. Not recommended
