I searched on Google for "How to Get Your V5C Document Reference Number Without Logbook" and found their page. Based on that, I expected to get the reference number easily. However, after trying their service and purchasing the basic package, I realized it only provides very generic information and does NOT include the actual V5C reference number.

Their website is misleading because the main page prominently shows that phrase next to fields asking for your name, which pushes you to buy without seeing the full details. The important explanation is only visible if you scroll down, which many users may miss.

When I asked for a refund, they refused. It feels like they deliberately mislead people to buy the basic package.

I strongly advise caution before purchasing, and I’m sharing this experience here so others don’t face the same issue.

Brilliant report with all the information I needed and more, I also asked for the paint code as it wasn't on the report and I used the chat function and they got the code for me in less than a minute I 100% recommend!!!

Did a basic check for £6 approx for a Corsa starting LX11 just now. It shows no discrepancy in the mileage. While the HPI Check does show that.
Then I wanted to check the AUCTION history of the car and it again makes me pay £12 extra for a premium check. On the website it says that the premium report will include the AUCTION record. But nothing related to Auction comes up even on the premium report where I KNOW FOR SURE that the car was sold at an auction.

The premium report also gives WRONG DATA that the car was first registered in the UK on 18-FEB-2022. I have seen the V5C log book. SO THIS WEBSITE IS GIVING ALL WRONG DATA. I have seen the V5C and all docs of the vehicle and the vehicle itself and also compared the HPI check.

the HPI check says the vehicle is NOT recorded as IMPORTED but this SMartcheck says that it is.

Even after the premium check if I need to check if the vehicle was STOLEN etc it is again asking for PAYMENT. PLEASE AVOID THIS WEBSITE.

HPI CHECK seems to be better ... I came to this website only because they said they show the auction history and they did NOT show it

Me dijjo que queria un informe detallado y me recomendó hacerlo por cochesinforme .com cuando entre en el sitio te redirige a smartcarcheck segui los pasos para pedir un informe pagué el importe €18,99. Nunca recibí el informe. Quise hacer el seguimiento del tramite y siempre vuelve al inicio. Tengo que pensar que he sido estafado? Uds que piensan..
