I think they billed my insurance for work they did not do.
Went in for my 6 month cleaning, paid my co payment up front. They did X-rays and the dentist did the exam and told me I needed a deep cleaning. The dentist left and they wanted to reschedule for a deep cleaning but I told them I needed to check my schedule at home and I would call them. I was immediately escorted out of the exam room to the front desk where they said good bye. I never got the 6 month cleaning I went there for, but I’m wondering if they billed my insurance for it anyway since I paid the copayment. When I got home I had an email from them letting me know they booked an appointment for me in 6 months for a cleaning. Hmmmmmm…….
Poor Service, Physical Harm, Lack of Accountability
I had a number of problems on a recent visit to Springfield Modern Dentistry/Smile Generation, where I had a tooth extracted several months ago.
First, the dentist didn’t offer clear or thorough instructions about how to care for the affected area following the procedure. He told me to avoid hot food and drinks, not to eat Doritos, and to chew on the other side of my mouth. That was it. He failed to mention, until I had already been home for a few hours, not to spit, even though my mouth would be producing a lot of saliva, or not to use a straw. I had been spitting and using a straw, which made the healing process more slow and painful. He didn’t mention that my face would be bruised and swollen or that I should use an ice pack right away to prevent the swelling. He didn’t mention whether or not I should brush/floss my teeth after surgery, and how to go about doing it. He only wanted to get rid of me as quickly as possible.
As he left, he told his assistant to have me x-rayed. She took me to the front desk and said goodbye. I said, “Excuse me, I was supposed to get x-rays,.” She scowled at me and brought me back for x-rays. I should mention that she was rude throughout the day. Avoided eye contact, barely spoke, glared at me. Several times during the procedure, when the dentist stepped away, she lightly-to-moderately bumped me in the face with her dental tools. Maybe she did this because she was turning to speak to the dentist, or maybe it was not an accident. I don’t know. When she took me back for x-rays, she didn’t speak. She was embarrassed that she forgot to have me x-rayed, perhaps. She shoved the x-ray device into my mouth violently, which hurt a great deal, especially since I’d just had surgery. Then she swiveled the x-ray machine around and smacked me in the side of the face with it. Twice. She did not apologize for this. It felt very much like an assault.
To say the least, it was not a great experience. I was going to discuss these matters with the dentist during my follow-up, but that’s another problem. My original follow-up was, according to the dentist, supposed to be two weeks after the procedure. However, they woman at the front desk scheduled it for three weeks, even after I reminded her what the dentist had said. “Three weeks is fine,” the woman at the front desk said. I’m not sure she should be overruling the dentist, but that’s how it went. I called to reschedule the follow-up, but no one answered, so I filled out the online form. I received an automated email saying that someone would get back to me very soon. However, no one did. After more than a week, I tried calling back, but again no one answered. Several months went by, but still no one called or emailed. Clearly, Springfield Modern Dentistry/Smile Generation is not concerned with my post-op rehabilitation. I eventually told them not to bother scheduling a follow-up because I didn’t feel safe there.
I notified The Smile Generation—the parent company of Springfield Modern Dentistry—about these problems, but they did not respond. I sent a follow-up message and was told to be patient. They only responded several months later after I filed a formal complaint with the State of Virginia. And even at that time, they did not provide postop instructions. Their behavior during the procedure and their lack of a timely response show a pattern of abuse and neglect from the organization. They were informed of a very serious series of problems, but did nothing for several months and have not offered to compensate me or make any other amends. Moreover, I contacted them before filing a complaint with the Dental Board of Virginia, asking for the dental assistant’s name, but they would not give it to me, which is quite disturbing. This shows a total lack of concern for their patients’ health, safety and well-being. As a side note, I have visited several of their branches and have experienced problems with every one. Clearly, there are systemic problems at the Smile Generation, coming from the management down to the dentists, assistants and assorted staff members. There’s no excuse for what they did or how they have chosen to ignore my complaints. They have acted with a lack of ethics, professionalism and basic human decency.

We financed with them and after two years, they took more of my money than went towards the principle. That’s when I paid them off. They gave me a receipt that says, paid in full. The next month, I get a bill with interest and late charges!!!
I paid them again!!!!
Don’t ever do business with this evil company!!!! You will definitely regret it!!!!
Zero for customer service
The quality of care was good but the rest was horrible. The price for my treatment was different every single appointment over the past 6 months and I was put on the spot every single time. Every time I tried to get the number ahead of time, I was met with coldness and defensiveness. They’re like car sales people. They try to get you in as a client by showing a lower price and then once you can’t get out of the treatment your price goes up!!
This is a rip off company!

If you don’t have the money to have your teeth fixed, search other way other then Smile generation. They’re a blood sucking vampires.

Predatory Practices
"Smile Generation Financial sends payment reminders after the due date has already passed, then charges late fees as a result. When I attempted to set up autopay to prevent this from happening again, I was blocked from doing so because of the outstanding late fee balance. This is a predatory cycle that makes late fees functionally unavoidable. I am requesting a full refund of all late fees and that this practice be reviewed and corrected."

Thank you Crossing Dental for making my mom's teeth lovely again. The staff is awesome, well-mannered and polite. High-Five to Nancy, Rosy and Dr. Shakil for giving us a wonderful dental experience.
This is the worst credit card company
This is the worst credit card company. They charged my $250 interest on a $6 remaining balance without informing me that my promotional period is ending. DO NOT get this card at any cost, this is how they make money by charging insane amounts of interest. I made so many payments way over the minimum balance every month and they refuse to waive the interest as a courtesy ALL OVER A $6 REMAINING BALANCE. Ridiculous and they should be reported for fraud.
Payment Allocation dispute
I was very careful to make payment amounts in order to payoff before my promotion date. I had two promotion dates and they allocated my payment to the wrong one. I was unable to get them to correct their mistake and had to borrow money in order to pay it off before the promotion ran out. I was cut off 4 times in the process of trying to get it resolved. I had been with them for 11 years but I will never use them again.

This company is the same as having a payday loan. I should have been more careful and did my research better. I have paid over $1600 and nothing went to the principal. As soon I pay them off I will close my account and I will never use this company again!!!
My husband and I contacted this company…
My husband and I contacted this company several times thru a phone call, email, and written requests on our statements that we did not want paper statements. We were totally ignored and continued to get an added charge of $2.99 to our statements. We always sent our payment in ahead of the due date but yet here came the statement in the mail. We paid in full and received an email acknowledging they received the payoff on 2/5/2026. On 2/23/26 we get a paper statement in the mail stating we owe $2.99 for the statement. We should not have to pay for statements when we requested not to have them. We have continued to try and opt out of statements since 10/30/26 to 01/26/26. We also discussed this problem with Reno Modern Dentistry. They were of no help. AVOID this company. No Customer Service.

Believe all reviews
Well, I wish I had looked this credit company up first. You can not pay online with a card, you can pay with banking info only, or mail it in. IF you want to pay by card, there is a $9 processing fee. What a joke. Then come to find out by my hsa company Smile Generation comenity doesn't accept my hsa companies cards. Ifound this out via my hsa company telling me why it was denied.
Their customer representatives are miss informed about how their site accepts payments. I had to be transferred to a manager in order to attempt a card payment.
I went into the office for a 6 month…
I went into the office for a 6 month dental cleaning. I was told I had to have an exam. The dentist (a new one every time) did a probing and started reading off very high numbers, this relates to having pockets. I take very good care of my teeth and have always had low numbers with out any pockets. After the exam she did a three minute cleaning. When she was done she told me I needed three crowns and a deep cleaning. I went to a different dentist and was told that I didn't need to have any crowns, and I didn't need a deep cleaning. That's $6,000 of dental work that I didn't need. This makes me question the $3,000 I spent 6 months ago on dental work at this office. Besides having scheduling problems like showing up for my appointment and not being on their schedule, they also do a high preasure bit by giving 50% off for work done the same day they diagnosis. This is 50% off of work that's not needed to begin with. Such dishonest behavior and a rip off of our money.
Predatory lender
Predatory lender — avoid at all costs. This loan includes a balloon payment at the end that exceeds the remaining balance, pushing borrowers deeper into debt. The lender will not negotiate interest rates and only offers a five-year payoff option that requires the account to be placed into delinquency, which negatively impacts your credit report. This structure is exploitative and financially dangerous.

I went in due to a cracked tooth which I learned was my wisdom tooth. Dr.Syed and the team Hmaileck and Juliana were kind and informative the entire process showing me exactly what was wrong and how to resolve it. We are scheduling out an appointment for the removal but utilized the time for a deep clean. I would highly recommend for anyone in the Dr.Phillips area.

They charged me 700 dollars of interest... dont do it.. if you dont pay it off before the promotional you are screwed! 39 %APR... WTF.
Be careful if your dentist office uses Smile Generation..
If your dentist office uses this credit card company, run!!! They are more than likely signing you up for a "promotional offer" where the balance is supposed to be paid by a certain time (which no one tells you about) and as you are close to having it paid in full, Smile Generation adds a unusually high rate of interest because you didn't pay off the balance by that said time. Essentially your paying a very high amount twice!

Account was setup for auto pay but I received a 74 point hit to my credit score because they reported it wasn't paid. When I called their customer service was awful and the lied that they would report it fixed. I had to file dispute with bureaus to resolve. Awful company!
