I ordered a jersey from Soccer.com on 11/27/2025 as a Christmas gift. At the time of purchase, the item was not listed as backordered. Three weeks passed with no updates, so I checked my order status online — only to find it had suddenly been marked as backordered with an estimated delivery date of 12/23/2025.
I called customer service to confirm, and the representative told me they were still waiting for the jersey to arrive from the manufacturer but would expedite shipping so I’d receive it before Christmas. That never happened.
A few days before Christmas, still with no shipping confirmation, I called again. This time, a different rep said they had the jersey but were waiting for the badge to be applied. I was told there was still a chance it would arrive before Christmas and that I would receive email updates. I received no updates at all.
On 12/23, the estimated delivery date changed again — now to 12/30/2025. I accepted that and told my son his gift would just be a little late. Then a few days later, the date changed yet again, this time to January 30, 2026.
When I called again, the rep simply told me I could cancel if I didn’t want to wait and that the delays were “not their fault” because the manufacturer kept postponing. I explained that the item was not listed as backordered when I placed my order. Their attitude was basically: cancel or wait — those are your options.
It’s also worth noting that when an item is backordered at Soccer.com, it essentially means they have no idea when it will actually be available. These constantly changing “estimated delivery dates” are meaningless — they’re placeholders that keep shifting, leaving the customer completely in the dark.
I even pointed out that by the time the jersey finally arrives — assuming it ever does — the season could be over, halfway over, or so far along that the jersey is no longer relevant. At that point, I’m essentially buying last season’s jersey, which defeats the purpose of purchasing it as a timely gift.
When I asked which badge they were supposedly waiting for so I could potentially switch to another option, the rep hesitated and claimed they “wouldn’t know.” Only after I pushed did they say they’d check with the warehouse and get back to me. I’m still waiting.
My main issues:
- No proactive communication about delays
- Misleading product availability at the time of purchase
- Constantly changing and unreliable delivery estimates
- No accountability — just “not our fault”
- No real solutions offered
- Backorder status used as a catch‑all excuse, even though it provides no timeline
If they had notified me early on, I could have made another plan before Christmas. Instead, I was left guessing, calling repeatedly, and dealing with shifting explanations and inaccurate delivery dates.
Overall, this was a very frustrating and disappointing experience. I will think twice before ordering from Soccer.com again.

Ordered on Nov 29 and the item never shipped. I was told for weeks that it was on backorder, then suddenly told it had been delivered, which was not true. After multiple conflicting emails and no tracking ever provided, they tried to charge an additional $239 for shipping nearly a month later. When I refused, they canceled the order. Extremely poor communication, misleading updates, and a complete waste of time. Would not order from here again.

Be careful - Scam!!! Orders were not shipped for more than seven working days, so I emailed to complain and request a refund. They confirmed the refund, but I received $5 less than I expected. This is deceiving the buyer.
