Had a friend in the insurance business mention this coverage. Our roof is my biggest source of anxiety, and the reason our homeowner's insurance premiums are so high. I did a little research, and the feedback/reviews are amazing. The cost is reasonable to ensure we aren't left holding a substantial bill for replacement.

No brainer with high deductibles
I currently have a 3% wind/hail deductible. I was shopping around for a 2% because 1% is no longer available in my state, and the cost difference in premium to lower my deductible to 2% was the cost of a Sola Insurance policy, so it was a no brainer. And had I lowered it to 2%, I'd still be on the hook for a very expensive deductible. This seems to be a really great product. I'm actually a homeowners insurance adjuster and heard about Sola through someone in my organization.

I saw this as a backup to my existing homeowners policy that always seem to have gaps in coverage should an adverse event take place. As all insurance I hope I never need it. This is my first year with this additional policy so I do not have any actual use experience. I will know more as the year goes by and if there is a claim needed.
