I have been with Square for over two years now. I am a small business owner and we have recently hit hard times which has led to the decision to close our online homewares store. To move the remainder of the stock I placed a closing down post on social media and offered a discount for my stock while it lasted. As the orders came in and the money Square contacted me stating they had seen that I was closing down and had some questions.. they put my account on hold until I responded to a ridiculous amount of questions and provided them with evidence of where my products came from, how I was fulfilling orders, how much stock I had left, what was the stock, how much it was worth.. so I provided an answer for everything and two days later they sent an email saying my account was disabled, the decision was final, they could “no longer support” my business. No reply address, no contact number, no reason. I contacted their support team who told me they couldn’t see any information and couldn’t help me. They told me to reply to the email… the no reply email.
I have engaged a lawyer and am sending them correspondence this evening. I cannot go through another provider as the process is too long and I need to sell my stock. No one can order from my store. To say this is disappointing is a serious understatement. I am a mother of 3 small children and the decision to close the business was devastating as it was. To have this happen is just a kick in the teeth. Square should be ashamed of themselves.
Square was the cheapest for equipment, lowest fees, fastest payouts. We are a struggling Nu Metal band called DedFate, who have committed our lives to music and thrown everything else away. Finding square, and its ability to allow for phone payments without a device was the best and most unexpected thing. Then we got a reader and having a Square reader makes my band look professional and dedicated.
Now I can also offer Eftpos for my FB Marketplace sales and have the money within 24 hours.

Square really is a great product, they actually are allfor small businesses
Just the fact that it's much easier than I thought it was going to be to handle and operate all from my phone!
Our staff find it easy to process payments from the Favourites and library menus. Payments into our account are promptly credited by midday on the next business day. The percentage of sales via EFTPOS are now 80%.

Worst social media company hiding behind nice looking websites I’ve ever dealt with. With in days not even a week of my website expiring and I’ve had a very busy week , my website was offline with no message nothing just taken down .
Most companies communicate but not square space . I was happy at first y the pretty websites and marketing they promise but the customer service behind the scenes is ruthless .
Square space do not have emails or phones the best they give is a market place for customers and then a chat run by bots that lead one to articles for information . The bigger square space gets the worse their customer service . They used to have the ability to email them but not in 2026 ?! Square space look great their marketing is fabulous but they are another money first above people conglomerate . I just want to move on to a reasonable website company for hosting as quickly as possible .
