They hold your takings.
Due to apparent changes in legislation, the Square team ceases to use their common sense in approving new customers. We are experiencing 3 weeks of takings being held by Square atm with no prospect of our funds being released back to us any time soon. If you want to risk funds being held. Go with these guys. Better off going through your bank. Hands down.

In some cases, account approvals and fund holds are tied to regulatory, compliance, or risk requirements that we’re legally obligated to follow. That said, we know that doesn’t make it easier when it impacts your cash flow, and we recognize how difficult this feels from your side.

Easy to set up and use
Buying and setting up the square pos is easy and works wonderfully. We first started with the free version from our phone but upgraded to the reader. It wasn’t that expensive and has been well worth the purchase. The phone version reads from phones very well but doesn’t read actual cards very well. Definitely consider the reader! We also bought the dock and are very happy with that was well.

Square is great if you don't want to be paid for years.
Square competely failed me as a provider - repeatedly withheld payments from clients, refused to refund clients and then withheld my payments illegally for 2 years without any communication.
Repeated attempts to contact Square Australia and Square.com were ignored.

Square’s been a game-changer for my small business
Square has been a game-changer for my small business. It would’ve been easier if could use the dashboard app alone to create website rather than going back and forth to square online but was still easy enough in the end to navigate and get my small business up and running :)
