Last week I ordered a spade plus other items from Screwfix. Unfortunately, there was a holdup with the store receiving delivery.
On my visit to the store, the apologetic lady serving me was able to suggest a replacement item which was in stock. The poor point was that I had to pay again for the replacement. However, I was told that a note would be left to cancel the original and apply a refund. I received a phone call today to confirm that I wished to cancel and also to confirm whether I wanted a refund to card or credit to my account.
As always with the Uckfield branch staff, customer service was excellent.

I have ordered a product from screwfix online, when it arrived, upon opening the package I noticed that the product has arrived in a used condition, it was wet inside and smelt of dampness. I had to self isolate for 20 days due to the fact that I have a positive test and on the day that the isolation was over my girlfriend tested positive. I called screwfix and explained the situation, they assured me that i will still be able to return the product after i have come out of self isolation as it wasnt safe for the driver to pick it up whilst we were positive. We arranged a collection as soon as we were clear. After a week we were informed that because the item was supposedly used by us and that we are passed the 14 day return period we cannot return it. I explained the situation and assured the customer return service that we did not use the product and that it arrived in such condition which is why we want to return it and have our money back ! They declined this. They do not listen to what we say, they ignore my emails and each time someone else replies. they claim that the have proof from the delivery driver that the item arrived in original closed packaging and therefore we used the item. What they dont understand is that that is correct but the item arrived in used condition and the delivery driver does not know what is packed into a box at the manufacturers. I am disgusted with the way we where treated. we received a used product, and are being declined the right to return it where its not our fault. They are unreasonable, rude and unattentively. Totally ignoring the fact that they are responsible and are being unjust and unfair. Now we are stuck with a pre used item that was sent to us in such condition for which we paid £1000. We will never buy from screwfix again ! Sort your staff out Screwfix because this is unreasonable and totally unacceptable. When i asked for the case to be placed higher in the complaints department i was informed that the decision of the return stands and that it will not change therefore we can no longer approach them about this. Ridiculous ! I used to be a happy customer here, but you have let me down. Never again.

I purchased an adjustable bottom entry fill valve from the Launceston store and got it home to fit it and couldn’t unscrew the bit that makes it adjustable, so took it back to the store and got a replacement, no problem.

Thought I would check it in the car, before making the journey home and found again, it wasn’t budging. At this point, I thought it may have been me, so re read the instructions on the packet and yes, it’s supposed to unscrew and adjust up or down.

So took it back into the store seeing the same woman who sold the original one and who did my replacement. She was very polite and she wasn’t sure of why it wasn’t unscrewing, so she went to get help, to see if someone else could see. The man who came out had a look and a go at undoing it and he couldn’t. So he went to have a look at others that were in stock. While he was doing this the woman was having a look at reviews to see if anyone else has had issues like this before. The reviews implied that it was easy to unscrew, so not sure what was going on with this batch. The man came back, having no luck with the others. He then began to get some tools out and was putting all effort, into unscrewing this thing. While he was doing this, the woman was seeing if there were any alternatives, that I would be interested in. While we were doing that, eventually the man was able to get the thing unscrewed.

Thank you both for all your help and patience! I know it’s just a fill valve, but in this current situation we are all in, the help was greatly appreciated.

This is such a helpful company and a useful service. Order online and pick up within 30minutes. Easy to return unused items. The only wish is that they also stocked better quality items in addition to their range - sometimes, I would be happy to pay £3-5 more for a premium product.

Terrible customer service
Bought a tube of Dows anthracite coloured sealant, when I opened it it was light grey. I returned the product and pointed out it was not anthracite but light grey to be told it was my job to look at the bottom of the tube and check it was the right colour which dose not actually give a clear view
What I actually did was read what it said on the tube and it clearly states it is anthracite I only discovered it was light grey when I opened it.
Screwfix refused to exchange it and said it was my fault.
Shocking

I placed two separate orders with the Ravenhill Road store in Belfast with their click and collect option. Both orders had 2 items each, both orders were bog standard items, nothing special. On both occasions after making payment I get a text telling me that only one item for each order is available and I will get a text when the order is filled. I placed these orders just over 1 week ago. I'm still waiting! Their click and collect does not tell you at the time of placing the order if any items are not available, and trying to cancel an order is virtually impossible. I ordered all the items on Amazon at the beginning of the week instead and got them within two days. Avoid Screwfix click and collect. Use Amazon, it's quicker!

Great stores and great website, I generally feel I can trust what I'm buying is quality given I'm not too savvy with tools and stuff. Only downside is frequency of sales or discounts. Sure have £30 off a £400 drill but I mean % site wide discounts or like the vouchers you occasionally get in the post.

I came in to Screwfix Leyton store with my wife to do a collection and order as i couldnt find the item i needed, i done my collection and was in need of a help so the guy at the till called in manager as he didnt know a product, The manager that came to help was such a big help to me, he went great lenghts to help me and my wife out as we are building our first home near by and we decided to stop in first time to shop there. He genuinly wanted to make sure he wanted us to keep shoping there and told us how to shop online and in store and to see him when ever we need to help us out, i just wanted to write this review as i dont really write reviews and i promised i would about him, so thank you Burak you have been a life saver mate, i will certainly shop more in your store because of you. Be sure to get my collection ready from now on please. Thank you

No issues interacting with these guys in one of their centres in Milton Keynes. Always able to get my order on time. Professional staff that rarely looks overwhelmed.

Good value for the items. Online is also easy to use.

Had to change a faulty light, went to my local branch, Gravesend, no problem at all. Sue(deputy manager) had the patience to deal with it, offered a new item and advice. Good customer service, thank you.

I went to the Luton Bilton Way branch as I desperately needed to buy a couple of wellies. I was honestly surprised by the level of service I received by Shelim who works there as he patiently helped me to choose a pair when most wellies were out of stock or just plain not available.

Thank you Shelim. Me and my son are forever grateful.

To be honest, I’ve never had a problem with this store nor any of their staff. In whole, they always go the extra mile to help me whenever I go to either collect or just plain pester for something I need...... usually straight away I might add!!!

Saturday I'm trying to get a job done stuck in a friggin queue behind a the DIYers trying to get my materials. Where is the trade service !!!!!!!

I placed an order for a outdoor electric socket and when i placed the order the website said it was in stock at Berwick upon tweed but then when i paid for it i got a text to say i would be texted again when my order was ready to collect. That text never came so i called screwfix and they told me that it was not in stock and it would be there the next day
(thu 15th sep) and i would receive a text to tell me when it was there. THAT TEXT NEVER CAME. So i called again and was told that it would be there on friday 16th by 12 oclock, so friday i was in berwick and i called into the shop to see when it would be there and was told ( I don't know its coming with parcel force) so i sat outside the shop for 2 hours as i did not want to drive the 20 miles home without my item. SCREWFIX GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER OR YOU WILL BE LOSING ANOTHER CUSTOMER. By the way screwfix i don't know anyone that uses the berwick branch that has a good thing to say about it

Very good service - click and collect always easy and accurate. Advise at the till points also great, and will change your order to recommended products if necessary. Only downside is stock availability and having to visit a couple of branches sometimes to get everything I need.

What is screwfix about you have to have an account to click and collect yet you have to take all your details credit cards when collecting. There competitors do not

Went to the Andover branch on 18th September. I needed some fixings etc to do some shelving for my daughter. Went out in a rush and forgot my glasses. Due to COVID the only catalogues available are the small takeaway ones so I was really struggling without my glasses. The chap behind the counter was so helpful. I told him what I needed and he quickly found the items on his phone. I was really impressed by his knowledge and effectiveness. I wish I had taken his name as he was a credit to the organisation. Very impressed.

At, 07.03 am on Saturday the 19th of September Screwfix sent me an email with a number of weekend offers.
So, I looked at them and there was a core drill set with 50% off (£149.99 down to £74.99) I had been looking at core drill sets for a couple of weeks on various company websites and so this was an opportunity to buy one at an attractive price.
I, clicked on it and it came up and gave you the product details etc, etc. but when I went to purchase it there was no facility to click & collect and also no delivery available, it recommend that I try other stores, so I did all over the country and it was the same, click & collect and delivery was unavailable on this item.
So, I wrote an email to Screwfix customer services with photos of the original email they had sent me and the subsequent sequence of events unfolding online showing that this product simply could not be purchased anywhere in the country and could not be delivered either.
Today, the 21st of September I received an email from Screwfix with the lame excuse as follows below,

Dear Cary

Thank you for your email regarding a recent promotional email you recieved.

All our offers are set to begin and end at midnight to allow customers a reasonable period in which to obtain any offers whilst stocks last, however, this does not mean that stock is guaranteed to be available within this timeframe and all offers and products from Screwfix are subject to availability.

On this occasion, demand far exceeded expectation and the stock did sell out more quickly than we anticipated.

We of course apologise again sincerely for your disappointment and I will certainly ensure that all of your comments are noted and passed to our Marketing team for internal review.

Not, only has screwfix let me and many others down badly but you give a lame excuse for doing it.

Like, I said I got the email at 07.03 am on a Saturday morning if what you say is true then that is severn hours after midnight and I cannot imagine that on a Saturday morning everyone is on the screwfix site clambering for core drill bits.

Come, on give me a break at least come up with a better excuse for failing?

Too, sum it up it was a con and now you're brushing me under the carpet, not good enough by a long shot.

I, for one will be shopping else where from now on.

There, are lots of other tool providers that want my business, or are screfix that arrogant that they think they can treat customers like this and get away with it and we are dumb enough to put up with it?

Too, sum it up I am still without a core drill set, but I will be buying one soon Im sure of that but Im also sure it will not be from Screwfix.
