The report was very detailed. Telling me what exactly is good about my essay but more importantly what I need to improve. Its layout was clear with relevant, useful headings and the summary at the end was particularly helpful. One thing that made it stand out was how it didn’t just point out where I wrote something bad and rewrite it for me but told me how to improve it myself. One thing that confused me was, I bought the single one for about £7 I think at first. It gave me an 89 score. Then I was indeed really impressed with it s I bought the 5 pack. But when I made the improvements that the 89 one advised, my score actually went down to a 78. I then worked on this advic, submitting my essay a following two times and got an 84. I just don’t understand how my score dramatically decreased even though I followed the majority of the advice. In addition, the ai checker was flagged on all my submission but I didn’t use ai at all for my writing. Also some of the advice, I felt was false, for example one said majority of successful computer science applicants have to have a Olympiad type thing whereas from my understanding and experience that isn’t the case, that it’s a must. But overall I was happy with the report.

It has significantly boosted my confidence when writing my personal statement. At first, I was very skeptical about what I actually wanted to write. But using this really helped me be sure of what I needed to write and where my strong areas for improvement are. It pushed my personal statement from a 58 to a 90 out of 100, which I am truly happy about.

Statementory provides some useful insight into feedback for the personal statement but you have to be critical with what you decide to take on board as many of the suggestions given wouldn’t have actually contributed to the quality of my statement but instead made it feel more dense. It does review sentences that are too cliche or not contributing much well.
