Two happy customers!

We have been very impressed with the service received from Sterling Home. The staff at the store in Edinburgh were friendly and did not try to do the 'hard sell' on us! Our new sofa was delivered on time by polite and helpful delivery men. The sofa itself is comfortable and of a high quality. Can recommend.

Excellent Service

Sterling in Aberdeen has long been renowned as a fantastic store . Warm welcome on entering from John who was very knowledgeable and friendly . Perhaps as we were in store for a long time ( also had delicious coffees and scones in the great coffee shop) and buying 2xDuresta Suites (& spending well over five figures ) we met the General Manager Jason Kitching who allowed a lot of time with us as whilst buying in Aberdeen we wanted the furniture to go to Edinburgh and NOTHING was a problem . Seriously - customer service at its best & a team who are passionate about their top class products !

Bought a set of 2 leather recliners

Bought a set of 2 leather recliners from Sterling Tilicoultry. . On arrival 14 weeks later, looked and felt ok.a few weeks after 1 sofa was making a clunking noise when sat on, and felt uncomfortable to sit on. Once reported, a guy came and dismantled sofa , put it back together and jumped about on it for 10 mins. No fault he said. Not happy at spending £3500 on these sofas and 1 being uncomfortable, we explained still not happy. Another guy came and looked at sofa. No fault. Was in and out in 2.5 mins. Blink and you would miss him. I have shopped several times in Sterling, but feel they have gone downhill. Very angry at lack of any customer service. I would shop elsewhere!! 😡.

£3,000 spent for the biggest disappointment

£3,000 spent, and one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had.

I purchased sofas from Sterling Home for £3,000 after visiting the showroom and choosing them based on the display model. Within five months, the cushions had become flat, misshapen and looked nothing like the sofa I was shown before making my purchase.

I raised my concerns expecting a proper investigation. Instead, I received generic explanations about fibre-filled cushions while my actual complaint—that the sofas I received do not match the showroom model—was repeatedly ignored.

I specifically asked Sterling Home to have their technician compare my sofas with the showroom display that convinced me to spend £3,000. They refused to do so while simultaneously claiming that the showroom model could not be used for comparison. If the showroom sofa is not representative of what customers receive, then what exactly are customers paying for?

Rather than accepting responsibility or properly investigating my concerns, Sterling Home suggested that the condition of my sofas was due to a lack of maintenance and normal use. I find this unacceptable for furniture that is only five months old and cost £3,000.

I feel completely let down by both the quality of the product and the way my complaint has been handled. I will be sharing my experience publicly and would strongly encourage anyone considering a purchase from Sterling Home to think carefully before spending thousands of pounds there. Simply don’t, you will certainly be disappointed.

- After Sterling Home’s response: Be careful before spending thousands of pounds at Sterling Home. According to their own response, there is no manufacturing fault with either of my sofas. That means they consider it acceptable for two sofas costing around £3,000 to deteriorate after just four to five months of normal use by a single person living alone. One person. Living alone. If that’s the standard of quality they stand behind, potential customers deserve to know before spending their money. You could spend thousands of pounds on a product and only be able to use it for four to five months before being told there is nothing wrong with it. As you can see from their own response, this is the standard they are prepared to defend.

I needed a sofa bed and been looking at…

I needed a sofa bed and been looking at the one I liked for ages. I got talking to the sales assistant that helped me before with the bed I bought. What I didn't like about the sofa bed was the mattress when I tried it. The first sales person 2yrs ago never mentioned that it could be upgraded or any ones after that until I spoke to the lovely man that sold me the bed. He just happened to say halo and what are you looking for today. When I said I really need a sofa bed but the one I like was uncomfortable he said the mattress can be upgraded. So I bought it after a discussion about the size and material I would like and I decided to purchase a chair also.

Sterling Tillicoultry

Sterling, Tillicoultry, have a fantastic range of furniture and accessories. I successfully shopped for various items including a sofa, bedroom cabinets and a fitted wardrobe.
I was served by Gordon and Margaret, both of whom had an excellent manner and excellent knowledge in respect of the furniture I bought.
I would not hesitate to recommend Sterling at Tillicoultry.
The cafe was good too!

If I could give you zero I would

If I could give you zero I would. The lady in the store promised us delivery after 6th June. Turns out this was not true. It was delivered today completely damaged and in a dreadful state of disrepair. Your driver was really lovely and showed me it on the van. I told him to return it. I have no idea why something would be sent in that state. I now have a room full of clothes with nowhere to put them. Disgraceful but professional and helpful driver.

Very poor service

Ordered a carpet with free fitting. The fitters arrived late and without the correct carpet bar. While we were waiting for the replacement we ordered a carpet for our son who has autism and learning difficulties. The carpet bar for our house eventually arrived but was fitted incorrectly. Our sons fitting was arranged for a specific day and time and we were told we would get a call to confirm. Call never came and we had to call in right up to 4.30pm when we were told fitters would arrive sometime after 5.30pm (on a Friday night!). The fitters did not arrive as they had been given the incorrect contact number by Sterling. We expected much better from a so called quality company and will never deal with them again.

Given wrong information at point of…

Given wrong information at point of sale, whoh the salesman then disputed.
Communication with the Distribution Depot was not good.
Having been told someone would ring me on more than one occasion, alas that did not happen and I received emails instead.
Told them if they could not rectify the problem, turn I didn't want there items, only to be told I had to wait a week for collection which was totally unacceptable and you would not refund me my money until the good were in your warehouse.
So again another phone call to the depot to be told all the same things over again.
I said that a phone call from a manager that day was what I wanted.
Was told this could take up to 5 working days, again not acceptable
Eventually are much more pushing by meet, I got a call from a manager, who sorted part of the problem.
The nest of tables which were damaged, she said, "we can restore them for you" to which I replied, I didn't pay that kind of money to have restored furniture.
So now I have to wait another month for a new set of tables. Hopefully after all this hassle, the next lot will come already assembled.
