Sign was nice but it came from China
Sign was nice but it came from China! It was held hostage at customs pending my payment of $23 for tarriff charges. I wrote Steveston multiple times looking for information regarding the shipment because the customs info didn't state what the package contents were. I was expecting this sign from Canada. Communications were horrible. The sign is nice but I don't think I'd pay $430 for another one

Recognizing that you are not fully satisfied with our communication, we are glad to hear that you are still satisfied with the quality of the sign that you received.
Constructive feedback is very important to us a a small business, so we would like to take a moment to fully address your review comments and provide some clarity for you, and to other potential customers that may have read your review.
We would like to note that in 6+ years of business, this is the very first review we have received where the customer provided anything less than a 5 star rating. This is not to suggest that we are perfect as a business, but more to point out that the level of communication you received is certainly not typical for us, and for that we apologise.
Your order was placed on June 10, 2025. You received a confirmation email from us that same day noting that we would notify you when your order had shipped. Your order shipped on June 21, 2025 and was delivered on June 26, 2025 i.e. well within the range of our stated 2-4 week standard turnaround time.
We received two emails from you (July 19, 2025 and July 23, 2025) inquiring about the status of your sign and requesting some clarity on the import duties. When you received notification from DHL about import duties, it did state that the package was coming from Steveston Creative. The waybill for your sign stated that the content of your package was "led sign 1 piece" so the contents of the package was disclosed.
Admittedly, our response to your email(s) were very delayed as we responded on July 1, 2025. That said, we did respond to your email in full and provided a clear and concise explanation to your questions regarding where your sign was fabricated, and why you were being charged import duties.
We also provided direct links to our public shipping page, and FAQ page on our website that clearly outlines where our signs are made, and our policy around import duties/tariffs. All of this information was available on our website at the time your order was placed, so form our perspective we are being transparent with our customers.
You are correct that Steveston Creative is a Canadian-based business. We do produce many of our signs in-house at our studio in Canada, AND we also work with a trusted fabrication partner based in China to fulfil the high demands for our products.
The quality between our in-house signs and outsourced signs are identical. The only difference is we actually charge a higher rate for in-house signs made in Canada. For this reason, our customers typically prefer to go with our outsourced option, as they are better value, even with the import duties. It is also worth noting that even if your sign did ship from our location in Canada, you may also have been required to pay a tariff between Canada and the US. This is not within our control.
We do not charge import duties/tariffs at checkout on our website as we are not in control of how much import duties will be charged, if any. Given the ever-changing landscape of international tariffs as a result of to the current US administration, it is not feasible to expect a small business to absorb the costs for tariffs that are beyond our control.
With all of the above in mind, we do admit that that our communication was not at the level we pride ourselves for your order, and for that we apologise. We think your 3 star review is warranted given your personal experience with Steveston Creative, and we will work to improve our communication going-forward so future customers have a more positive experience in that regard.

I contacted Emmett to order a sign for our basement. He was super responsive, answered right away and we were able to place the order with an hours once I had approved the design mock up, production and delivery was quick. Thank you! My only suggestion would be to change the mounting hardware as the anchors would not grip the screw and secure to the wall properly.

Great company, great product!
Steveston Creative went above and beyond in helping us with our LED neon signage needs. I work with a non-profit organization that was moving to a new location which had involved a large construction project to get the space up and running. The timing for the project was incredibly tight. We decided at the last minute that a neon sign would be the perfect thing for our reception area. With only days to go before our opening, Emmett was incredibly helpful in getting us what we needed. He turned the proofs around immediately after our phone call and reached out to his overseas manufacturing partner to have the sign started the same day. Within a week of first reaching out to Steveston Creative we had received our sign and it was exactly what we had wanted it to be. The process couldn’t have gone any smoother. I would highly recommend Steveston Creative to anyone without hesitation and look forward to working with them again in the future.
