There was a bug in the software, it wont let me file my application because of an internal error that I couldn't fix. I contacted the support service and they tell me to pay for the expert help... this was not an taxes issue, it was an error of the application but the agent wouldn't understand. I ended up requesting a refund for the premium service I paid, the agent told me that I had to wait 30 days, wich is nonsense. Until this day I haven't been contacted for my refund, I am reporting the charge with my bank though.
Because this rather simple to solve issue, I will not be filling my taxes again with H&R block.

I just spent 2.5 hours doing my taxes on the Online H&R block software.
when I went to check out, the program did not let me checkout without a $30 upgrade that I did not want or need.
This is the very last year I will be using their Tax software.
No way to get in touch with them about this either.

How One Extra Form Became a $120 Experience

I did my taxes yesterday. Apparently, earning a small amount of self-employment income is enough to trigger a premium pricing experience at H&R Block. Both my husband and I were charged $59.99 each — even though I didn’t claim any expenses, and my husband had no self-employment income at all.
So in total, $119.98 for the thrilling administrative complexity of importing one additional T4A from CRA. Clearly, this single document elevated us into a much more advanced tax category.
There was no way around the fee structure, and support was nonexistent. The chat bot confidently contributed nothing of value.
Overall, an impressive demonstration of how a completely straightforward tax return can be reclassified as “complex” when it’s time to bill it.

Avoid this H&R block at all costs in Gatineau on rue Principale. The agent named Aloys (sp) was the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. He made a huge mistake on my senior mother's taxes, he doubled my mother's income from her T4A. This resulted in her being charged over $6000! He was also not aware of senior tax credits or the facts around Solidarity tax, so these were missed on the return. She went back in to see him and he was rude and arrogant and sent her away without correcting the mistake on the return. She called the branch and requested a call back to have it corrected, but he hung up on her. I proceeded to call on her behalf and he also hung up on me after I tried to explain the error. I left a message at the branch requesting a call back from a manager and then proceeded to make a formal complaint with H&R corporate management. We will for sure pursue this. H&R say they have 100% guarantee accuracy and will fix their errors free of charge, but instead we are treated rudely and hung up on multiple times after they make an error. This was the most frustrating, rude service we've ever experienced. Save yourself $200, they are scammers and entirely unprofessional!

I would have giving 5 stars, however at the end I received a bill of $110.00. for "expert advice" I never signed up for and did not need as my return was simple and straight forward. Very dishonest. Will not use them again.

Just tried doing my online taxes with these H & R Block people. A total Nightmare. It give me about 15 errors than told me my return was in risk for an Audit. Next they wanted me to purchase protection? I Called their Help line and could understand half of what the rep was saying. Meaning she had great difficultly speaking English. She couldn't tell me how to delete my already started tax return?? This took me over 1 hour and nothing was done? I than went to Cloud Tax and it appears everything was done in less than 10 minutes and filed. Wait and see.

I met with Anita Sulatania this morning to do my taxes and she was amazing. Answered questions I had been searching for awhile. She was extremely helpful and very pleasant. 5 stars for Anita!

I had been using HR Block for years but will definitely look elsewhere from now on.
I am retired and my taxes are basic. The only glitch seemed to be having a T3 for minimal, and I mean minimal investment income. I was charged $368.00! My husband was charged $160.00 because he didn't have a T3.
This was absolutely shocking! I paid $199.00 last year for the absolute same tax information. I would have given a 1 star review had it not been for the person actually doing my taxes and trying to bring that cost down!
If you're retired and make average earnings and have investment income prepare to pay!

I have filed my own taxes online for years, but this year it was overwhelming with life. I took my tax info to H&R Block in Bridgewater NS. I had Pat Joudrey file them. She was professional, knowledgeable and treated me with respect. Pat has a warm welcoming voice that instantly puts you at ease. I will definitely recommend her and H&R Block in the future!!!!

If I could give a "0" I would. I've used H&R block for many years and the last 3 years they not only do a terrible job, they actually refuse to answer the online messaging! Last year they filed late despite my being a month early in submissions and this year, it's the same thing. DO NOT USE H&R BLOCK. Terrible service. I went to a local company instead and they gave me same day service! How refreshing to find great service!

Horrible experience and then denied my cost on getting my income tax done for receiving such a horrible experience. It’s gonna leave it at that! I wouldn’t recommend H&R Block to my worst enemy

I am writing to say that I’ve been a customer of H&R Block for over 50 years actually since 1975. I had taken my taxes to the H&R Block the last three years I saw an increase of 30% every year cost of filing. I am a senior disabled and on a fixed income. I can’t see them justifying such a ridiculous race in charging this amount I will never never go back to H&R Block as they have ripped me off.

Très mauvais service. On nous dit que nos rapports d'impôts seront mis sur le haut de la pile, qu'ils seront faits rapidement. Ils ont été produits en retard, trois (3) mois plus tard. Mme Sévigny ne lit jamais ses courriels, ne retourne pas les appels, se fiche éperdument de nous. Pour lui parler, on doit se présenter sur place. On lui pose une question, elle promet (jure) de nous revenir avec la réponse mais elle ne le fait pas. Ca été l'enfer! Plus jamais!

Absolute disaster. Arranged in person interview. Tax consultant was clearly overwhelmed and unable to grasp some of the nuances of our return. Price quoted VASTLY higher than posted online. Left me a voicemail 7 days indicating she was too busy and taking some time off. Gave name of another consultant who was not available either and they said they would find someone to do the returns. Never heard back. Went to office and picked up returns. No apologies of note. Clearly not professional. Spending a boy more now with professional CPA. Amateurs are not worth the cheaper price.
