Very good at switching providerto…

Very good at switching providers to ostensibly provide the lowest tariff but no sense of whether excess funds are remitted back. Direct debit seems to always remain the same despite any switch.

We always use the most up-to-date usage figures when arranging your switch to ensure you’re placed on the most suitable tariff. However, it’s your energy supplier who manages your direct debit and handles any credit refunds. Typically, suppliers review your account every three months and may adjust your payments based on your usage and account balance.

You are entitled to a refund of any credit balance, provided there is at least one month’s worth of direct debit remaining on the account. However, most suppliers won’t automatically process refunds unless specifically requested, as many customers prefer to build up a buffer. While we’re happy to help raise a request on your behalf, the final decision rests with the supplier.

Absolutely horrible service !

Absolutely horrible service !! Even after official cancellation, the supply was forcibly transferred to “Out Fox The Market”.
Original quote was for a different tariff and the contract was for a different tariff.
As soon as I received the contract, I cancelled but the transfer of service took place on a Sunday !!
They did NOT wait for the 14 day cooling off period but did the transfer within 7 days !!
The company Out Fox The Market is a CON-ARTiST !
They say they do NOT work weekends and so they did NOT receive the Cancellation email sent via SWITCHD on 11 April but did the transfer of services anyway on 14 April, a Sunday !!
No Invoice provided but now demanding payment £28 for 14 to 22 April.

DO NOT TRUST THIS SWITCHING SERVICE !!!

Our system doesn’t take into account whether your account has a credit or debit balance. As a result, the direct debit amount shown in our email about your new tariff may differ slightly from what you're currently paying with your supplier. However, rest assured that it's based on your actual property usage. The switch is always made with the aim of securing the lowest available unit rates and standing charges at the time.

Have you already been in touch with us regarding this? Suppliers are required to honour all cancellation requests made within the 14-day cooling-off period. If you haven’t already, please reach out to us at team@switchd.co.uk with your name and property address, and our team will be happy to investigate further for you.

I requested from you to stop the switch…

I requested from you to stop the switch and defer for three months. In response, I received from you the message that the switch will be stopped until after the middle of August 2025 (around the 20th of August). Still though, the switch has gone on (this must be your fault) and the new provided (Outfox the market) has already debited my bank account a first payment!

We’re sorry to hear that you’re unhappy with the switch. Our goal is always to make sure our members are on the best possible deal, and we’re sorry that we didn’t meet your expectations this time.

Our system is designed to automatically process a switch when it identifies a guaranteed saving of £50 or more. We always allow time for cancellations, but after checking our records, we couldn't find any prior communication requesting a cancellation. Could you please let us know how and when you contacted us, so we can look into it further?

While we can see that a request to pause your Switchd account was submitted on 24th May, by that point the switch was already in progress. It’s important to note that pausing your account doesn’t cancel an ongoing switch it simply prevents future ones from being initiated.

We’d be more than happy to help you get your supply switched back. Please email us at team@switchd.co.uk with confirmation of your earlier request, and we’ll do all we can to support you from here.

My experiences with Switchd are good

My experiences with Switchd are good. They are friendly and helpful. It is good to think that the team are looking to keep my bills down and they act as a buffer between me and the energy companies so I know what to do, and when to do it.

**Awful/Disingenuous Customer Service**Avoid at all Costs: No Coverage for EV tariffs

Paid for 4 years of supposed switching to the best electricity tariff. Over £200. To find after that period they do not search or have any EV options. Found this out through a conversation with Octopus directly. I have had a EV for that whole period and charged exclusively at home. At no point was this made clear, discussed or asked by Switchd. This then led to a highly disingenuous and evasive set of mails with a lady called “Naomi” in which she took no responsibility, offered no apologies and asserted this was my issue to “discover”. Exceptional level of dishonesty. Not only have i paid the subscription mentioned but I have also incurred a significant overpay on my electricty bill verses if I had manually searched for a EV friendly electricity tarriff. Strongly recommend not using Switchd. Awful experience and outcome for me.

Switchd is a service designed to switch members to the best available gas and electricity tariffs, and this is made clear across our website and in our communications. At this time, we don’t support EV tariffs, as these are structured very differently and fall outside the scope of what our platform currently offers. With more households now owning EVs, we're certainly looking into ways to expand our service to support EV-specific tariffs in the near future.

As we weren’t aware that you owned an EV — and this wasn’t shared with us during your time as a member — we based our switches on standard usage, in line with our service.

Thank you again for your feedback — it’s important to us, and we’ll continue using it to improve how we communicate and further develop our service.
