❌❌ AVOID
Hi,
Thank you for your response. I appreciate that you made the decision not to proceed with the pop-top once you considered the condition of the roof. I am not disputing your decision to refuse the conversion, nor am I asking you to compensate me for the fact that the pop-top was not fitted.
My concern is the condition in which my van was returned to me after being in your care.
Before the work was started, the van was handed over with the solar panel, bathroom vent/light and interior lighting intact and functioning. During the work carried out by your team, the solar panel was removed from the roof, the bathroom vent/light was left broken, several interior lights were no longer working, and there was a hole left around one of the internal spotlights.
Regardless of whether you believe these items were within your remit, these issues were not present when I handed the van over. I therefore believe it is reasonable for me to ask that the van is returned to the condition it was in before you started work.
You state that the solar was not connected it was but Whether it was electrically connected or not does not change the fact that it was removed from the roof while the van was in your care and placed inside my van on return . If you are saying that your team did not cause any damage to these items, I would ask you to explain how they came to be damaged or left in this condition following the work undertaken.
I also have concerns about the statement that my van was not fit for purpose. If you believed the condition of the roof made the van unsuitable for a pop-top conversion, I would have expected this to have been established before work was commenced and the roof and associated components were disturbed.
I am not trying to cause an argument or unfairly blame your business. I simply want the damage/issues that occurred while my van was in your possession addressed fairly. I have already had to obtain costs for putting these items right, and I have provided the relevant information regarding the £370 repair cost.
Returning my deposit does not resolve the separate issue of damage caused or left behind while my vehicle was in your care. The two matters are entirely separate.
therefore ask you to reconsider your position and confirm whether you are prepared to cover the reasonable cost of returning the van to the condition it was in when I brought it to you. I was told to used the deposit you had given me back to sort the damages then ignored
