I ordered a product from that cool living on July 30, and despite receiving an email promising it was being dispatched, I still haven’t received yet. They didn’t ship it yet. And they are ignoring my emails now🙂

Unacceptable Hidden Charges and Poor Quality Control I recently made a purchase of a…

I recently made a purchase of a sideboard from That Cool Living and encountered significant issues that compel me to share my experience. Despite being initially attracted by their product range, I am deeply disappointed by their business practices.

Firstly, I was charged an additional 569 EUR in shipping fees that were not disclosed at the time of purchase. No documents or communication indicated these costs prior to finalising my order, which is both unreasonable and unacceptable. Additionally, I was billed for storage fees despite clearly stating that I did not require storage beyond the end of May.

This is not my first purchase from That Cool Living. Last year, I ordered several outdoor furniture items, which were promised to arrive in a month. Instead, we waited over six months, and when the items finally arrived, three chairs were faulty. This clearly indicates a lack of quality control and customer care.

Reluctantly, I decided to give them another chance due to a specific designer they feature. Unfortunately, this decision proved to be a big mistake. I strongly advise potential customers to be cautious and ensure all terms are clearly outlined before purchasing.

After I raised these issues with customer service and informed them that it’s illegal to add extra charges after the purchase, I have not heard from them. Based on my experiences, I cannot recommend That Cool Living and hope this review helps others avoid similar frustrations.

UPDATE:
I regret to say that my experience with That Cool Living has been quite disappointing.

Firstly, it did take six months for all our outdoor furniture items to arrive. The three chairs that were damaged had significant cracks on the sides of the legs. I sent pictures of the damage to Anna, who acknowledged them, so I'm surprised to hear the claim that there were no quality issues. I would have appreciated a more thorough inspection upon the chairs' return.

The responsiveness throughout this situation was less than satisfactory. Communications were slow and often unhelpful, which added to my frustration.

Regarding my recent sideboard purchase, I received an email stating that the shipping fees were listed in the deposit order. However, when I sent a screenshot showing that no shipping fees were mentioned, there was no resolution. This inconsistency has further eroded my trust in the company's communication and policies.

I hope that That Cool Living will take this feedback seriously and improve their service and transparency. Based on my experience, I would advise potential customers to proceed with caution.

You contacted us during Black Friday 2023 to purchase the Case Furniture - Cross Sideboard for your home, which was under construction and set to be completed in April 2024. You requested to place the order during the Black Friday sale with a 50% deposit and pay the remaining 50% plus shipping fees before dispatch in April. We agreed to this arrangement, and it was clearly communicated that shipping fees would be due at the time of final payment in both the deposit request and order confirmation.

At the end of March, we informed you that the sideboard was ready for shipping and asked for your approval to proceed. You mentioned construction delays and requested to hold the shipment until May. On May 13th, we contacted you again to request the final payment (50% product price plus shipping fees) and to prepare for shipping. You then requested to delay the shipment further until mid June. We agreed but informed you that since the extension was now over two months, storage fees would apply due to costs from our logistics partner. When we communicated the storage fee of 75 EUR between June 1st-15th, you chose to proceed with the earlier shipment, and thus, the storage charges were removed from your payment request.

Our current policy on shipping charges has been in place since September 2022. Your previous order in July 2022 included free shipping due to the different terms at that time. We no longer offer free shipping since September 2022, and this was communicated during the deposit process for the current order.

The order you referenced from 2022 was placed for Case Furniture - Eos Outdoor items on July 13th, with an estimated shipping by the 15th of September. Due to unforeseen delays with the manufacturer, the order was shipped in two parts: one on September 13th and the other on October 3rd. You received all items by mid-October, within three months of ordering. We never promised to deliver the goods within one month and this is also clear from the email communications.

Regarding the faulty chairs, you reported an issue with three of the outdoor chairs making a metallic sound when dragged on the floor despite having leg caps. There were no noticeable quality issues with the chairs, and the manufacturer had not encountered this problem before. However, we promptly contacted the manufacturer, and they replaced the chairs under warranty. We ensured the replacements were delivered, and the faulty items were collected within a reasonable time.

It seems there was a misunderstanding about the shipping fees and storage charges. We strive to provide clear communication and transparency in our business practices.

We take pride in our customer service and quality control processes. While we regret any inconvenience you experienced, we addressed each issue promptly and to the best of our ability. Your feedback is invaluable, and we will use it to improve our processes.

Need Help? Don’t Count on That Cool Living.

I placed an order on August 16, 2023 and my card was charged for the purchase (~$850). The website indicated shipping time may take 8-10 weeks. I can see the item’s status as “In Production.” On October 7, 2023, I followed up to check the item’s status, especially because the item is no longer available to order on the company’s website. That Cool Living did not respond. I followed up via the website chat function on October 12, 2023, and still no response. I followed up with another email on October 22, 2023 and sought support via social medial chat features. No response. Then I tried an additional email on October 24, 2023 and still no response. The lack of customer support and communication is unacceptable. I still want my item and am willing to wait, but I would love some assurance that the order is truly being filled. Without communication, I will be left to pursue a refund via my credit card company. My trust in That Cool Living has been shattered and I cannot recommend them.

It’s a scam, don’t buy

Do not buy!! It’s a scam. I placed an order in May, it's now mid September and I haven't received it. The customer service team have responded below and emailed me a handful of times but there’s never any update or movement on my order. No shipping updates, tracking or even confirmation that it’s been produced.

Still hasn’t been dispatched, I enquire as to an update and get the same ‘supply chain issues’ response every time, then they give me a date and the date surpasses and nothing.
