They contacted me straight away after I sent them a message and sent out the package I needed to send back my gold rings, postage was free to send to them, I heard from this company two days later and was offered a price which I accepted over the phone.
Very efficient, customer service was great. Would definitely recommend them to anyone who wishes to use them. They were great

My package has been stolen, Be very aware
My package was collected and scanned twice by Royal Mail, someone has stolen my package with my late fathers things in, which has infuriated my two brothers who both wanted the same thing from his small collection.
I have rang The gold Company and left messages 4 times, I have texted over a dozen times and email twice.
No-one at the gold company gives a hoot about this. I/We have lost a lot in sentimental value and possibly financial value as well.
I cant raise a claim with Royal Mail, because The Gold Company paid for the postage, so they are the only ones that can, But they will not respond to anything. They do not tell you this in their adverts, just that it is insured. PLEASE READ THE TERMS AND CODITIONS AS NOTHING IS IN YOUR FAVOUR.
See if they respond to this review.
To update, I have now received contact and the offer of help. I am grateful for this stance from The Gold Company. So I have raised the score from a 1 to a 2.
Will update further if I get anywhere

I posted my pack on Monday, the following day I received a phone call saying it had arrived. Later on that day I was contacted with my valuation. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount quoted and accepted.
Within 5 minutes the monies were in my account.

I had my gold valued locally,£766 ..TGC valuation was £355 ..I declined the offer..Then it was valued at £770 !!! Very strange ..I didn't accept the offer .How many people have accepted their first offer .I certainly don't recommend them .

I am really disappointed with the honesty of the company
I am really disappointed with the service. I decided to send a small amount of the gold jewellery I want to send as the pack is only insured for £750. If the quote was good I was going to send the rest separately. Yes they were quick at offering me a price, however, I was offered £116.40. I then declined the offer and asked for the items to be returned. I was then asked what offer I had in mind for them to pass feedback to the valuators. I confirmed £446. I also asked them what weight and purity they have recorded. I was told that the report shows that I have sent 2 rings and a chain. The valuators then agreed that they have under offered and instead offered £380. What they said is incorrect as I had sent 6 chains and 1 ring- not sure what report they were looking at!!! I do not feel that I can trust this company and dread to think how many people have accepted the 1st offer and have been short-changed. Let’s hope that my items will be returned safely and promptly.

As requested, we confirmed the quality of the gold and the number of pieces received, as there was an initial misunderstanding that all items were 14ct, which was not the case. We also explained that we were unable to match a previous valuation you had received elsewhere, as gold prices fluctuate regularly and had fallen since that valuation was carried out. To clarify, our valuators did not state that the original offer was incorrect. Rather, they explored whether there may be an opportunity to achieve a higher return through our jewellery retail network, as some of the pieces were in great condition for resale. We did our best to work with you and get as close as possible to the figure you were hoping for, but unfortunately this is not always possible.
If you remain unsure about the valuation or the items, you may wish to have them independently checked elsewhere for further reassurance.
We are sorry that we could not meet your expectations on this occasion. Your items will be returned free of charge as requested, and we wish you all the best.

Absolute joke of a company!offered me £40.00 for 3g of 18ct Gold! I refused them three times and they then came up to £70.00 which is way under the scrap value. I have taken my item to a local pawn brokers and got paid £180!Do not be fooled by them!

As stated in our terms and conditions, we do not value gemstones, and our offers are based on the precious metal content only. In this case, the ring contained several stones, some of which were missing, so the valuation was based solely on the gold content. We would also note that the weight of the ring was lower than the 3g stated in your review, which affected its precious metal value. Unfortunately, the retail value of jewellery and its actual scrap or melt value can differ significantly, which was the case here.

Excellent service
Excellent service. I have never used a service like this before so was a bit apprehensive. However The Gold Company was really easy to use and offered a very comprehensive service so I decided to go with them. I was not disappointed as from the beginning they were friendly and approachable but not pushy in any way. And finally the easy way the process of sending my items in their prepaid envelope to the price they paid for them was spot on. Payment was received straightaway. Their communication was excellent throughout and I would definitely use them again.
