My friend absolutely hates it, I tried it, and the flavour and quality is so bad that it made Ryanair in-flight meals look like they won a best taste award compared to The Lunch Bag.

I would like to take this opportunity to express how much I appreciate being part of the Lunchbag. Working for the Lunchbag has been a genuinely rewarding experience and I am very proud to Contribute to a team that prioritizes quality, nutrition and the care that goes into every single meal that is provided to the Children. I am a general Operative in a big School where the Children look forward to the hot meal every day. It's very clear the Commitment, high standards, food safety makes a massive difference in all the schools the Lunchbag serve. I am very grateful to be part of a Company that values both it's employees and the Schools the serve.

I have been a driver for The lunch bag for about 3 months now and it is honestly the best job I’ve had. Their commitment to feeding the kids healthy tasty food is amazing and I enjoy the smiles and waves I get from the children when they see their lunches being delivered.

We started getting lunches from The Lunch Bag back in 2021. My children have been so happy getting to choose their own lunches each day and I am an even happier mommy not having to make them each morning.

I am very disappointed with the standard of hot meals being provided by The Lunch Bag in our school.
The quality and presentation have been consistently poor. Children have received soggy chicken nuggets, pizza with sweetcorn scattered on top in an unappetising way, and meals that look rushed and carelessly prepared. Food that is meant to nourish children should at the very least look fresh and appealing this does not.
My child has come home with meals barely touched because they simply weren’t edible or appetising. When multiple children are bringing food home uneaten, it raises serious concerns about both quality control and oversight.
This programme is meant to support children and families. Instead, food is being wasted and children are left hungry or frustrated. That is unacceptable.
Standards need to be urgently reviewed. Our children deserve nutritious, well-prepared meals not food that looks thrown together with little care.

The Lunch bag service has changed my family’s day to day lives for the better! They have a wide variety of options for my kids to choose from each week. They never get sick of their lunch as I encourage them to pick a new meal every week. I couldn’t ask for a better lunch service in our school!

The food is RAW! And freezing i am afraid of getting samonella poisining please let the chef known as it is unacceptable to feed kids this food.

3 boys, enjoying having hot meals every lunch time instead of once in a blue moon. They prefer it to having sandwiches all the time. I was surprised that they all hated the chicken goujons, but when you think of it, food in bread crumbs is only nice fresh. They said it is soggy by the time they get it. They love the potatoes cubes that come with the goujons though. They like the meatballs, but think that the sauce is too sweet. They didn't like the pesto pasta because they felt that there was so little pesto on it that you couldn't taste it. They loved the chicken curry. They loved the Mexican wrap, so they are looking forward to trying other wraps, and the Gammon and potatoes.

I think it is a great service that just needs tweaks. The amount that they are receiving seems to be perfect for them. They are eating everything that they get. Not too much, not too little. They are happy to try everything once and then make decisions for the future, so I think that the ability to mark things as favorites in the app should help the company to fix any problems. I think they should stop the fried food or breaded food as it does not travel well.

As a parent it is great because firstly you don't have to prepare lunches in advance, it is also providing huge variety which is harder to do when you are cooking for a single family.

When you are cooking for children for lunch and dinner it means having to offer different things for each meal which would mean having to come up with 10 different hot meal varieties during the school week because they can't have the same for lunch and dinner.

We have trained our children not to be fussy eaters. There seem to be a lot of comments about food waste. But the people I know who have children who are not trained to eat what they are given, waste a shocking amount of food at home themselves. Perhaps there is some way that the government can roll out a scheme to get children to try more types of foods in a fun way, if they currently only eat bland or junk food.

I would have given five stars if the quality of some of the food have been better. But I do think that's only a teething problem and that they will stop producing food that doesn't travel well, or get rid of the choices that children don't seem to like and that will take a while to figure out.

My child’s school has been using The Lunch Bag for months now and honestly, it has been an absolute game changer for our family.
The variety of meals is fantastic and, more importantly, my child actually eats them. They’ve tried foods they would never touch at home, and now regularly ask for favourites like the meatballs and wraps. From a parent’s point of view, the convenience is unmatched. No more rushing around in the morning making lunches or worrying about forgotten lunchboxes. Knowing my child is getting a hot, nutritious meal at school gives real peace of mind. You can tell there’s been thought put into making meals balanced and child-friendly, and it’s reassuring to know the company has updated recipes to meet stricter health standards.
The ordering app is straightforward to use, and anytime I’ve had a query, communication has been clear and helpful.
I would genuinely recommend The Lunch Bag to any school or parent considering it. It’s taken a daily stress off our plates (literally!) and made school days easier and happier for everyone.

My son dislikes most of the options from a limited choice. The quality has declined this year as well. We mostly don't avail of the hot lunches as a result.

Very poor. Pulled out from our school with less than 48 hours notice and claimed that they couldn’t find my account to refund the existing credit I had paid onto the account.

We’ve come to the last week of the first month back to school and my daughter has decided to opt out again.
First 2 weeks random dishes were delivered as their system was down. They only had all summer to iron out any issues.
Last 2 weeks my daughter has tried random dishes .
Yet again same cheap churned out crap.
Please stop supporting the halal method of slaughtering . It’s unnecessary and cruel.
We are not a Muslim country.

I have 2 children who receive the lunch bag meals and one child has 12 options a day to choose from but my other son because he is celiac only has 5 options to choose from 4 of these options are the same every day no nice lunch options for children with celiac no goujons sausages pizza fish bites it's very unfair as all of these options are simple to make and keep away from other things being cooked all they need is a separate tray. I've tried over and over to get them to be more inclusive of children with special dietary needs but it falls on deaf ears. My son feels left out so I have had no choice but to opt him out and give him a full lunch every day which I am happy to do he's my son he is my world but I just would rather he was treated the same. Gluten free options are more expensive and this company won't spend the money to make children with dietary needs feel more included terrible

Very poor selection of meals for vegetarian/vegan children. My child has been handed multiple meals containing allergens he can not consume that were not selected by me. Apart from that hes given the same 2 meals all throughout every week. They aren't even nice meals . Hes a bottomless pit ,there is very little he will not eat .but this bean melody and mexican sweet potato is bland and boring to have to eat every day . Before the summer break they had falafal meals with a sauce and 1 with veg and more options .. terrible service to have minimised these as I know not only the veggie kids enjoyed these . It is impossible to get in contact with this business I have tried too many times with no replies which is unprofessional

Quality is quite poor, and they also change menu without informing sending random food.
They do what they prefer regardless to people.

When I ate the food I got extreme diarrhoea and My poo was hot that my bootyhole got burnt

This company has pulled out of supplying hot meals to my son’s primary school, with effect from TOMORROW.

ONE DAYS notice given to the school and families. Disgraceful and less than professional.

It’s a small school, with a maximum of 30 students, all who now have been let down by this abhorrent behaviour.

You should be absolutely ashamed of yourselves as a company. No consideration given to the families who may have really needed the help.

Catering for special needs. Some children has sencery issues and plain foods not (rice and pasta) but nuggets no vegetables plan potatoes or cubes no sauces or vegetables. Sausages maybe an option also.

Hi I am a student in a school that uses the lunch bag here is an honest review from someone who is in a school that uses the lunch bag and that has tasted it so recently I moved to a new school in my old school everyone was saying how exciting it sounds unfortunately in my old school they never got got food they had to bring packed lunches teachers told us we were getting the lunch bag everyone said they were SO excited (they never got it because the staff room was to small ) anyways then I moved to a new school they did have the hot food I was excited because everyone was talking about how yummy and exciting it is I liked it my favourite food on the menu is a cheder roll one day I was sitting in class eating my cheder roll and I was saying to the boy behind me that I really liked the hot food aka the lunch bag he looked at me weirdly not touching his food and said well we have had the lunch bag for around 2 years now and when I are eating everything on the same menu for 2 years you just loose your appetite for it and we have had the same food for the past 2 years it gets really boring he said with a sigh still not touching his hot lunch I laughed a bit and said don't u think they would change the menu up a bit he then said no we have had the same food on the same menu for the past 2 years then he said wait till u keep eating the hot food for 2 years and see how boring it gets I sighed and looked around 6 girls and all the boys weren't eating there food nobody liked the lunch bag everyone in my class hated it none of them eat it please please please add more to the menu I came up with a few more things to add to the menu 1: a bagel with ham and cheese in it 2: a croissant with ham and cheese in it 3: chicken stir fry if you want just to let you know the pasta is never cooked properly and people aren't eating because it's boring ads more stuff to the menu once you add more stuff to the menu I will come back with a 5 star review and talk to my old school about the lunch bag other than that please add more stuff to the menu 🙏🏻

The Lunch Bag has been a fantastic addition in our house. Giving the children independence to choose their meal has worked wonders - they actually eat the food they choose!

The range of choice and quality of the food is second to none! The chicken curry is a big hit here.

Lastly, just to give a special mention to the customer service. Any queries I had, were answered promptly, and they were just lovely to deal with.

It gets a big thumbs up from our house 👍
