I recently had a disappointing experience with Modern Milkman, mainly due to misleading information provided during the sign-up process.
The door-to-door sales representative clearly stated that the membership could be cancelled within 14 days. However, once the membership actually begins, this is not the case. In reality, you only have a 24-hour window to cancel, and after that, you are charged on a pro-rata basis. This ends up costing more than £7 per week for just one delivery, which feels excessive and unfair for what is being offered.
Additionally, there were promises of “free gifts” as part of the sign-up, but these turned out to be trivial and of little to no real value.
When I reached out to customer support to clarify and resolve the issue, I found them unhelpful and unsupportive, which only added to the frustration.
To be fair, the products themselves are of good quality. However, they are quite expensive, and whether they are worth it depends entirely on your convenience needs. If you want to avoid going to the shops, it might suit you—but that doesn’t justify the lack of transparency.
What really upset me was the incorrect information provided at the point of sale. I would strongly advise others to be cautious and fully understand the terms before signing up. In my opinion, the membership is not worth the money.

I have been having my milk delivered for a few years now, it's great to see a milk bottle on the doorstep. Considering the early delivery time the delivery has never been missed no matter what the weather has been. There is also a good range of products available to order,all good quality.

We have been getting milk from The Modern Milkman for years now. The deliveries are always on time and of good quality. On the rare occasion that we have had a query/issue, this has been resolved quickly. The customer service is excellent. We also love the ease of being able to change orders using the app.

I like having my milk delivered to the door during the night and can pick it up from my porch fresh in the morning. Very convenient that empty bottles are collected with each delivery which saves on plastic recycling.

Highly recommended! I get regular oat milk and bread deliveries from Modern Mikman and have been doing so since 2022. Really convenient and better for the planet, as it means that I get through a lot fewer tetrapaks. For any vegans thinking of using the service, they offer several Oato oat milks (plain, strawberry, chocolate, coffee) and a soy one, all of which are excellent!

Excellent. Lovely quality, great website - easy to use, great price for good quality food and supplies. So nice to have the convenience to get essentials, fresh, in the morning, on the doorstep. Reminds us of how peaceful and comfortable life could be.

Love having fresh milk delivered 3 times a week in glass bottles! Lots of other items can be added as & when required, for example, bacon, bread or orange juice. I can pause deliveries easily if going away. All done through the app on your phone! So convenient! Re-using glass bottles makes more sense, cuts down on waste, & I like supporting local farmers!

Had three deliveries. Only one ( the first) was at my agreed property place. The next two I couldn't find as one was at the back gate, the second was delivered to the neighbours house.
Not a reliable service.

I genuinely don’t understand how a company can fail at something this basic, this consistently.

You have one job: deliver the order properly. Not early, not randomly, and certainly not by dumping it outside on the pavement like it’s worthless.

This has now happened multiple times. Despite clear instructions to call me on arrival, the driver ignored them and left food outside the building, unattended and unhygienic. This time, it was even delivered a day early, with zero notice. I came home to find it sitting outside, exposed, with no idea how long it had been there.

That’s not a “delivery issue.” That’s a complete breakdown of process and accountability.

To make it worse, the items were obviously unusable (including bread), and it still took two days to process a refund. So not only do you fail at delivery, you’re slow at fixing your own mistakes.

At this point, it’s not bad luck. It’s a pattern of carelessness.

If your entire business depends on delivering food, you might want to start acting like it.
