Thistle Tavern Reviews

First time using them and I will defuse again, they had items in stock that were proving hard to find. They were all packaged very well and the shipping and delivery was extremely quick. No complaints atall and would highly recommend these!

Items as described. Arrived quickly. Well packaged. Have placed many orders with them and never had any problems, Happy to recommend.

Staff are very friendly and happy to help with all your nerdy delights. Plenty of space to play some games and catch up with friends and make some new ones.

Good selection of cards at good practice. Amazingly quick service!

Shop is clean and has a large selection of games.
Staff are fantastic, friendly and knowledgeable

been going weekly for TCG tournaments never had any issues, and staff has always been helpful.

New to TCG but Thistle Tavern have been excellent in support. I'd rather support local business before all others and there's always something to grab whilst popping in by. Staff are always friendly, welcoming and willing to answer any questions. Really looking forward to getting a couple of decks built and heading in for some fun in the evenings!

Me and my cousin came into the store it was our first time there and like any other people we were a bit nervous in case it was really busy but when we walked in the staff there were really nice and helpful pointed us in the right direction for packs and loose cards we were hunting! It’ll definitely be our go to store for our card games

I’ve ordered online from thistletavern.com for card sleeves, Riftbound single cards, and deck boxes, then collected in-store and it’s been spot on every time. The website’s easy to use, ordering is straightforward, and collection is quick and hassle-free.

Everything I’ve bought has been exactly as described and well packed, which is especially important for singles. Staff have always been friendly and helpful when I’m in collecting, and it genuinely feels like a proper local community shop.

I also go along to the Nexus Nights for Riftbound and they’re a great atmosphere well run, welcoming, and a brilliant way to meet other players.

Highly recommended if you want a reliable place for TCG accessories and singles, with the bonus of a great in-store scene.

Good staff, good crowd, great selection of TCG's and Board Games along with accessories. Their events are really well run.

Amazing staff, amazing selection. It is THE card shop in Scotland. Nothing like to compare it to!

My son somehow made an order on my iPad for £154 worth of items, I noticed when I received and email to my phone. I emailed them to let them know and asked for a refund. A refund was issued within 5 minutes of me emailing. Thanks so much for sorting it out with speed and efficiency. Safe to say he won’t be on my iPad again!! Thanks again!!

I placed a pre-order which was later cancelled without a proper explanation. It’s unacceptable to list items for pre-order and then cancel them, especially when market prices have shifted. From a customer’s perspective, this raises serious concerns about fairness and business practices.

What makes this worse is the complete lack of communication. There has been zero response to my emails and no attempt to properly explain the cancellation. Being ignored as a paying customer is extremely frustrating and unprofessional.

When customers commit to a pre-order, they expect the seller to honour that agreement, not cancel when it appears financially inconvenient and then refuse to engage. This behaviour completely undermines trust.

Collectors and buyers should be cautious when dealing with this business. If you expect reliability, transparency, and basic customer service, you may be disappointed. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to think twice before purchasing here.

Fantastic experience as a first time buyer. Ordered a bunch of Katana sleeves. They were sent very quickly and arrived within a few days (I'm the other side of the UK!). They were packaged really well. I am so happy with my purchase, I have just bought another lot of sleeves. Would absolutely recommend!

Staff were great, very helpful and my order was ready very quickly!

Always a fantastic place to visit.
Great way to spend a day playing your favorite TCGs.

Fantastic service. Everything arrived quickly and well protected.

The staff are lovely and a good laugh!

The store has a good plethora of card game packs and a good selection of board games!

Company advertises/sells products that they don’t have. Allowing people to pre order items, happily taking and holding people’s money, when you have no idea of how much stock you will receive is beyond a joke. Why offer something that you cannot guarantee you even stock, waiting until you received your order then allowing orders to be placed would easily solve this problem but this would be a great help to your customers so I doubt this idea will ever welcomed. I won’t be shopping at this store again as the trust of buyer seller was completely broken and advising others to do the same. No response to my emails about my situation so I decided to leave this review hoping to help someone avoid such a disappointment in the future.
