I ordered a dress for my daughters graduation, I received it today AFTER the graduation and my god I am so relieved that I bought a backup outfit, as the dress is absolutely NOTHING like the picture on the website!!

To add, I have been offered store credit or the option to return the package to CHINA at a cost to me of £25! With a veiled threat that the package may get held up in Customs. I suspect to one, put me off returning the order and/or two so they don’t have to refund me because my package gets ‘lost’ on the way to China! Disgraceful company. Avoid at all costs!!!

I bought two cardigans that were sold as Cashmere but were actually synthetic. Nowhere on the site was the real fibre content stated and when I tried to get a refund but they offered a discount or said I could pay (average £25) for the return postage but it would probably be held up in customs and may not get back to them. I WILL BE CONTACTING TRADING STANDARDS TO TRY AND GET THEM BARRED FORM TRADING IN THE UK

This is a rip off company, goods are awful quality, nothing like the pictures. Asked for refund to be told it’ll cost me £25 to send it back to China or they will give me a fiver back and I can keep it!! Keep well away everyone

I spent almost £160 on three dresses from Thomwood, and I deeply regret it. What I received looked nothing like the photos on their website — cheap materials, wrong colours, poor workmanship, missing features (like corsets), and unfinished hems.

I contacted them right away, but they only offered a 10% refund, store credit, or told me to return the items to China at my own cost (approx. £25+) — while warning me the items might be lost in customs. This is clearly a tactic to discourage returns and avoid giving proper refunds.

After looking at reviews, I realised many other people had the exact same experience. This seems to be a deliberate business model — take people’s money, send inferior products, and make returns too inconvenient or risky to bother with.

Avoid this website at all costs — it’s dishonest and predatory. I’ve reported them to my bank and Trading Standards.

Two orders I have not received , one of which was placed over a fortnight ago and not even been shipped. They send messages and replies but do absolutely nothing. I have told them to cancel and reimburse me and now they have gone silent…no responses to emails. Will never order again and do not recommend this store as I believe it is a scam

Not sure whether I’m going to receive my order and judging from the other comments if it does finally arrive it will be very poor quality. The website suggests that this brand is a mother and daughter owned company from the Netherlands. It isn’t, it’s a Chinese scam site. The positive reviews posted here are so obviously fake it makes me angry. Wish I’d done my research before placing an order.

I ordered 3 sweatshirts over two weeks ago , after chasing they have finally arrived.
The quality is not good ( polyester material which is shiny) , I was expecting sweatshirt material . They were not expensive so I will keep them for dog walking and gardening - I wouldn’t use them for anything else.
The goods are from China , although the advert led me to think they were local in Manchester. I have moved my review up from I star as they did expedite the delivery after my previous review .
Personally I won’t buy from them again as the delivery times and quality are not good enough for me.

They took a long time to be delivered and just came in a bag, I’m not sure if they are leather or pu.
On trying on the laces are very short and not able to tie on the top eye of the boot. I think if I’d had to do it again, I’d have bought the real dr marten boot and paid the extra

Nobody use this website. Item finally arrived nearly 3 weeks later. The dress was awful material and really nothing like the picture. I requested a refund like it states I can on their website and they kept refusing trying to offer me £20 instead of my £120 purchase. Now stuck with a dress that’s no good to me and out a lot of money. Awful service!!!

My dress came, it’s cheap and horrible. I asked for a refund (four times) only to be told it would cost be £25 to return one item to China, but they offered me a partial credit to buy something else cheap and nasty, and I get to keep the crappy original dress. Lucky me.

Shock horror, the credit code doesn’t even work and they have stopped replying.

We live and learn - but it is annoying that scam websites like this are allowed to operate. Bunch of thieves.

Dress arrived damaged, was told a replacement was on its way (which it wasn’t). Refund was requested (as the event that the dress was for had been and gone whilst waiting on the excessive delivery time, so the dress was no longer needed or wanted) and denied!
Now left out of pocket and with a damaged dress! SHOP ELSEWHERE!

Thomwood stated that they would refund me on 17/7… this has still not been received… now they’re stating that they’re having “system issues” so can’t provide proof of this mysterious refund 🙄

Purchased a dress which bared no resemblance to item advertised online. Style, colour, pattern, material and sizing all incorrect. Contacted customer support & sent images of item received as requested by Thomwood. Refund offered but would have to pay £25 shipping to China with no guarantee item would arrive. Decided to keep item with 10% 'good will' refund offered.
This company is a sham. Disingenuous and untrustworthy; do not use.

I sent a return back, but never received the refund.
Full detail of the order number and my contact details, but no refund. Quality and deigne looked cheap, hence I sent it back at great cost - so be aware!

I planned a trip to the UK and didn’t pack much, so I ordered from Thomwood in advance and had it shipped directly to my hotel. The timing was perfect.. the package arrived with no issues at all. I told myself I’d leave the dresses behind when I returned to Brazil, but they were just too beautiful to part with. I actually bought an extra bag at the airport to bring them back with me! Elegant, comfortable, and no hassle at all. I just wish we had Thomwood here too

This was my first time ordering from Thomwood and I’m genuinely impressed. The fabric quality was amazing, and the delivery was smooth and on time. I reached out with a sizing query and got a clear, friendly response within an hour. Definitely shopping here again!

Update 18th july - still no full refund offered! Waist actually measures 27 1/2 inches and they send a copy it should be 29inch even with mine smaller than they state (but even so 28 is not a size 16
Terrible service and no admitting it is an error on the part of them !

Update today 15th July - still more emails only offering me more percent off an outfit that DOES NOT FIT! As far too small. When I ordered a XL -16 measurement tape showing it’s in 14inch wide - that means 271/2inch waist all round waistband !!!!! That is way under XL size 16 in any country size 16 is a 34 inch to 36 inch and it show much higher than 29 inch waste on their website showing it bigger than this that has arrived! They have no intention to pay me!!! I am instructing a solicitor to take the case over ! So no one else has this stress and treatment. Hope they are closed down ! So upsetting !!!!!
(They asked for photos to show label to resolve issue and even after photo proof !) and even with this they say the size is correct !!!!
And I still have to return or I keep items - outfit, they they have increase to 60% of refund.

Honestly they send wrong size/they delay arrival - from it leaving china late, arriving 20 days later and they blame me!

I order a size 16 and a size 10 arrive as tiny! And it said XL on label I checked size chart before ordering! It took 20 days to arrive! Took ages before leaving china!!!
They have fine nothing and expect be to pay £25 return:-

And do everything to stop them having to pay for a return! Tell me to pay £25 return !

Just had a reply from them asking if they can help !! 33 emails of complaint for not getting for 20 days and then arriving 4. Sizes smaller. Offered 10% back and no full refund!!! And then telling me if I return it will cost me ! £25 !!! and it could get lost at customers so i may not EVEN.get my refund! Every which way you stop me posting it back ! and they are needing photos and receipt of return etc when it’s been errors from them !

Don't buy from them! Options for returns are store credit or spend £25 to return to China (with the possibility to be kept in customs).
Had to buy a different product (adding more credit) to avoid loosing the money and the quality was as bad as the first one and It took ages to arrive!

Emailed company to initiate return order , website state 1 day reply however heard nothing and it has been 5 days !!! AVOID SCAM COMPANY

Trying to track my order as still not recieved. Now website is unobtainable so no tracking. Absolute disgrace, money lost. Wouldn’t use again even if I could. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Wish I had read reviews before ordering.
