They are scammers. Charged me 87€ without any notice. Will be getting advice from European consumer rights center.

WOW! Everything all the prior reviews said and more. Lesson I learned is to make sure I use a credit card from my PayPal account and that way the credit card can dispute the charges. I too was unaware of the residual payment. They promised to refund half of it back and give me access to the program. I have yet to see a dime.

Bought a guide for beginner drawings, didn't know they had signed me into a subscription, a year later they take £68, I instantly message them saying I didn't sign for a subscription, I manually cancelled my account also.

they replied saying they dont do refunds as a policy,

so their business model its charge a cheap fee, sign you up to a subscription, charge you and say sorry cant refund, I never knew it was a subscription and seems like its very subtle if mentioned at all.

reported to bank but their merchant provider seems to reject that also so they keep the money from people they charge and it seems like they do it a lot.

I lost my job and that charge took my food out my mouth for something I never used or wanted.

I take an exemple book for 10$, then, 1 year after, I was charged of 89$ for Premium gold membership.
1. It was never mentionned that a membership Renewal will be performed after 1 year.
2. I contact them for a refund, they reply It’s not according their policy.

So, be carful, they Will take your money.

I knew the subscription is only for 1 year at a low price. On the website you can view your account, and when next payment will be done, so you can unsubscribe in time.
In the beginning there are less workbooks and other training materials. But now, after half a year. I have access to 15 workbooks.
When drawing digital, you don't need to print it all.
Yes you need to practice a lot.
How else would you like to become an artist?
So for me it's very satisfying to be able to learn that much, at low costs. Buying books will be far more expensive and only watching video's don't make you a professional comic artist. Here I got access to a large amount of learning material from great artists.
So I don't think I will unsubscribe.

They trick you into an $89 subscription and then won’t refund even if it’s obvious you have t used anything in the dashboard in a year. They say it’s their policy to never give refunds for any reason. Thieves. Don’t do it.

They sell you the course at a small price but I does renew at multiple times the price. At least shady. Not recommended.

Timo total, el primer año 10 euros, lo pagas, no merece la pena y al siguiente sin avisarte de la renovacion te cargan 90 euros y no recuperas el dinero. Los contenidos no merecen la pena. Hay que mandar email aviso de renovacion, como hacen las grandes y honradas empresas.

I think the negative reviews I’ve read here are simply a result of miscommunication and nothing more. I had a similar issue with renewing my subscription (89 USD) and opened a dispute. A very responsive and supportive representative named Sebastian reached out to me via email. Within a few days, I received a partial refund and several bonuses from TFC. I’ll definitely use TFC’s materials to learn how to draw comics, as all I need is the basic knowledge. After that, I’ll be able to continue on my own, in my own style.

I purchased a $10 how to draw comic thing from them and they did not tell me that it was a reoccurring subscription. They charged me for $89 the next year on PayPal, and when I went to dispute it they won. I never signed up for a description and it's a terrible service and they will not refund me. They just stole from me. Never use them.

I don’t usually write negative reviews, but I’ve now fallen victim to what feels like a subscription scam. Out of nowhere, I was hit with an unexpected $89 charge today, with no prior warning. Unlike other subscriptions, I didn’t receive any notice that the renewal was approaching.

They should send out reminder emails before a renewal charge, but these companies count on you missing it—they know that once you’ve been charged, they won’t offer a refund.

To avoid being charged, you’d have to anticipate the renewal and cancel in advance, which of course, they make difficult to do. It’s clear they’re more interested in getting your money than in supporting their customers.

I initially paid $10 to explore what they offered, found it lacking, and decided not to use it. I had no intention of renewing, but they charged me anyway for something I’ll never use—a forced payment I never agreed to.

It’s extremely disappointing to see a business operating this way. It’s all about taking your money, with zero regard for you as a customer. Don’t fall into their trap like I and many others did. There are far better options out there that genuinely care about their customers.

Really awful. Rolled over automatically at nine times the cost. No warning. Asked for money back straight away, but refused. There's a money back guarantee but they won't honour it. Their 'course' is also a disorganised rabble.

I purchased something from them 6 months ago through Instagram. I had an account on their site to access the materials that I purchased. They had an access to my PayPal account. I rarely went to that site after, but 6 months after I purchased the materials I was charged 128 CAD out of the blue. They haven't even notified me that they were going to take this money. No emails, nothing. Now I have negative balance on my PayPal which means they took this money from PayPal and now I owe PayPal.
I sent 2 emails to the Training demanding the money back for something I was unaware - and NOTHING!!! only automatic message saying that they will contact me.
This is disgusting!!! This shouldn't be allowed!!!

Total thieves, don't put your card details in there at all. They don't even have any customer support. I wrote 6 emails after it charged 90euro from my card and no one replied to any of them. In the end, I preferred to cancel my credit card. They make you an offer for 10euro, and then subtly charge you huge amounts.

I purchased the service for $10 last year and was not informed that I was signing up for automatic renewals. I got charged $89 and contacted the company, who refused to refund me. Clearly a scam.

How can this company keep on taking peoples money trough PayPal?
Shouldn't PayPal be able to put a scam warning for everyone that try to put in a payment to this scamming company???

I also, as many other bought 1 course for 10$ that would give me a lifetime membership. Nowhere was there any information about a subscription that would be renewed every year!
If that would have been the case I sure as applejam would have ended that ASAP.
But no such information was given!

This people scam people with no hesitation!

And when I mailed and complaint about the 89$ dollar renewal they pulled from my PayPal I got the same answer as everyone else. No refund policy!
It's not a refund if you steal my money!

I have contacted PayPal but reading the comments here I am sure they will do zero about this big problem.
We seem to be many people having this problem all over the world.

Is there a possibility to gather up and make some kind of international legal complaint?

Month 5 of using the site. I love it. I will definitely stay for another year after my trial year is up (bought it through their ad for $9.99). It is a subscription based site that functions like a very nice PDF magazine, full of quality articles, helpful tips, lots of professional illustration samples and tons of downloadable practice workbooks. Keep in mind that not everything is available right away, you get access to the planned lessons and bonus "books" over time. For example, the bonus "books" were not available to me right away, but were later unlocked. The study plan covers about three years (!!!), but already in the 5th month there are so many study assignments that I do not have enough time to draw everything they have to offer.

On the downside, technical support responds to requests, but very slowly and only to the most important questions.

The site is definitely worth its full price, and if you were able to buy their full trial with bonuses for 9 bucks (for a year) - then you are a lucky person, like me.

I have paid to receive nothing.
I paid for the membership, to enter the site, find 2 or 3 PDF files that visibly lasted 1 month, then they took everything away from me and the year of membership is still valid, without letting me enter the courses or read any article.

This is scam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
