The Trugreen Rip Off
After a so called misunderstanding about my lawn size in 2024 , I decided to give Trugreen a second chance in April 2025(BIG mistake). Steve Lindsey the person that sold me the contract said he would have to fudge the numbers to be able to give me the same price as last year. I prepaid the $614.02 for their Trucore lawn plan.
After that the problems began, I had to call Steve Lindsey several times to let him known my lawn was not being serviced. The only reply he would give me was that he would look into why it wasn't being done (no help at all). So I decided to call the 1-800 customer service number. I talked to two Reps named Erica and Suri ,both were very polite and concerned about the situation and I knew there was only so much they could do so asked to meet with a supervisor. I was told Mike Watson the area supervisor would be contacting me to set up a meeting time. After finally getting in contact with him, he told me he was too busy to meet with me and would sending someone else. Imagine that too busy. A few days later I met with Quin S. who was not a supervisor and said the condition of my lawn due to lack of servicewas unacceptable and that the next two services would be free. Only one was free. I was still digging up weeds by hand in September. This company should not be in business reported to the AG,s office . J. Fowler (Boise)
Terrible Customer Service
I have used this company for years and the customer service has rapidly declined to non existent. You call some call center, the perfectly nice people say they will get someone to take care of the weed problem. NOTHING happens. We have never had weeds like this. Even the local representative who showed up in person can't seem to do anything. I have called him 3 times. Plus they increase prices drastically every year. Stay away, its so frustrating.

Disappointment!!
Company was hot and heavy getting our business; the first two applications were fine, but it went downhill from there. Steve, the rep who sold the service, asked that we pay all applications up front, which we did. Several times we had to call for return service about weeds that were not addressed, and when we found bugs, we were told that we were wrong--no bugs. Yes, there were bugs. We reached out for help and tried the suggestions provided, doing what we could to effect better results. When the lawn continued deteriorating, we asked for our money back. Steve went into defensive mode indicating that he didn't have authority to refund applications already made. The corporate office didn't return our calls. Our lawn has never looked worse. We are getting a refund on apps not yet applied, but we've spent money on weed and bug killers. In addition, we are in the process of prepping for reseeding, including renting a thatcher to remove all the dead grass and purchasing grass seed, compost, and fertilizer. Needless to say, we are disappointed with TruGreen.

Trugreen took over my lawn care at the end of last year. Under their care we had an issue with grubs, which has wreaked havoc all over my lawn. We have crab grass, goose grass, nuts sedge, and weeds all over our lawn. Every time we call in a complaint, and want to know how they’re going to make this right today, we are given the excuse that Spring washed away all the pre-treatments. I’m having another company come in and tell me what we need to do to repair our lawn, and if we have to, we will take Trugreen to court
for reimbursement.

After appointment a few weeks later weeds were still growing very well. Called service (waited a long time) and asked for a respray. They came out again but had very little result. they sprayed again and it almost had the reverse effect. weeds were doing real good.
True green is not worth it and their customer service if you can get them aren't much better.
