Poor performance / no customer service
I give them a "1" only because there is no "0" to give them. Absolutely no customer service and u can only speak to a "third party" which most of the time are foreign and you can not understand their conversation. The local branch phone number simply "rolls" over to the "third party" answering service.
A year after canceling the service, for non-performance, they came out and sprayed weed killer on my lawn in error. Patches of grass now dead since my active lawn service had already don this a week before.
They owe me a $70 overpayment which they were going to refund immediately - Feb 2022. Now a year later, they are still stating they will mail right away
Bottom line, please no matter what discount they offer you, do not do business with this company.

Waste of money-avoid
A TruGreen "salesman" came to our door shortly after we moved into our new home. He was very slick, saying all my new neighbors signed up for their service, I should too. (come to find out only 1 neighbor was signed up). I wanted to try the service for a year, as we had a newly sodded lawn. WHAT A MISTAKE. The very first application-the tech was 3+ hours late, he got lost. It was very hot, so I went inside to get him some ice water. When I came out 5 minutes later he was loading up to leave. I asked him if he did the whole yard and he said he did. I have 1/3 of an acre and I could see the backyard when I was inside, he didn't even go back there. He said he was soooo far behind and had 10+ stops to still make. I called TruGreen and explained the situation, they scheduled a re-service. I had 8 treatments on my plan...take what I wrote above and apply that to at least 5 other treatments. I just gave up calling them for a re-service. The "salesman" said the plan was for a year, but its for 8 treatments, which finished in seven months not a year. I noticed on my credit card I was charged twice from TruGreen after about 7 months and 8 months. I called them and they said you are on autopay, we've done two services since your contract ended, she said it's on the end of you previous agreement, should have read it. I asked for a refund on the two services, she said no. I explained that I wanted to cancel the service and explained why (see above). As she was about to cancel it she said I could refund a portion of your charges IF I signed up again. I told her to cancel my service, don't call me again. I honestly wouldn't use them again if it was free. This may be the worst service I've ever used. From the "salesman", constant rescheduling & terrible treatment application. BTW, my yard doesn't look as good as some of my neighbors that self care their yards. Save your money and aggrevation, SKIP TRUGREEN! My location is the Nashville area.

I had TruGreen in TN out of Nashville…
I had TruGreen in TN out of Nashville from 2017 to 2018 and I was not happy. The people that owned my home before had trugreen so I decided to keep them. Wrong decision. Being from the City I know that seeds don't grow on concrete, so if you are aerating why are the seeds not in the grown and grass not growing where you put seeds. Needless to say my grass never looked like turf again. Very expensive and very unprofessional. Working 12 hours I did not have time to baby my grass when I got home. Not a great company to invest your home lawn care to.

No communication
No communication, poor customer service.
last year they came out an aerated my yard, I had to call and have them come out to redo it again, this year I wish I could send you all the pictures they definitely aerated but I have no grass growing. This company has been nothing but a headache for me, the leaders out of Nashville are absolutely horrible on teaching training and coaching their team members.
Canceled going with a more reputable company.

I really wanted this service to work
I really wanted this service to work. Against better judgement, i signed up for a year for full service. I've had 6 treatments and now waiting for aeration and overseeding. So far, my lawn looks as bad or worse than when they started. Weeds seem to thrive on whatever they are putting down and my grass is thinner than ever. I've heard it's next to impossible to get a refund so i'm riding the year out. At this point, I will not renew and could not recommend to anyone. Very disappointed. By the way, best way to reach some one is via the online chat box. You will reach a real person and they have come back when i've requested but the results remain the same. Terrible.

TRU-GREEN Management the WORST!
This is a revised review of the original placed 8.17.21 regarding Tru-Green. Subsequently after my first review, Customer Service emailed me and stated that Tru-Green would be contacting me immediately, that was 7 days ago and still no calls. Tru-Green is responsible for destroying what was a good yard 96% free of weeds at the beginning of the Season. They have managed to kill my grass, leaving dead spots through out the yard and perpetuated the growth of Crabgrass and Nutsedge. Branch Management has been unresponsive to phone calls and emails through Customer Service. After 10 weeks of a deteriorating yard condition, I am reviewing litigation. Breach of Promise!
