Charged over £240 for dog food not received!

The worst dog food service!!

Tuggs has taken £241.68 from my bank account for dog food that was never received!!
£224.69 of this was charged to my account after my dog had passed away!

I signed up for a trial in December 2025. However, I didn’t receive any email confirmation or dispatch details and when I attempted to sign into Tuggs with the Apple keychain saved details, I was told that there was no account with them details. So due to this, I thought that the account was not successfully made.

I had to say a forever goodbye to my fur baby in January 2026. However, in February tuggs charged almost £110 to my account. Again when I tried to login, it would not allow me to do so, so I emailed Tuggs on the 1st of March and again on the 8th of March letting them know that my dog had passed away and asking for assistance, requesting cancellation and refund as I had not received anything and the website was saying there was no account with the details that I had entered when signing up! However Tuggs ignored both of these emails sent

On the 12th of March, Tuggs took a further £117 from my account despite me explicitly requesting that the account was cancelled and requesting a refund prior as no items had been delivered to me!

I emailed again on the 15th of March and eventually this time I spoke to an advisor Jen who is exceptionally rude, who claimed that they have not received my prior emails despite it showing me that they had been read!

Tuggs then sent a “delivery photo” which showed the box wide open and left on the street! I contacted DPD regarding this and DPD agreed that leaving the items on the street was not a safe place and requested that tuggs open a dispute regarding this delivery so I could be refunded. Tuggs have refused to refund me or to investigate with DPD and have now decided that they are not responding to any of my emails!!

Tuggs have tried to say that the email address entered said .con instead of .com which would mean that tuggs had accepted an email which was incorrect? However, given that my Apple keychain details saved at the time of opening the account have the correct details and login I have reason to suspect that Tuggs had changed these details themselves in order to take my money! On top of this I had emailed them twice to let them know I had not received my order and requesting that the account was cancelled but they proceeded to charge me again after these emails were sent.

This is the worst company I’ve ever had to deal with I would strongly discourage anybody using this dog food service!

As somebody who’s neuro divergent (aut), I feel like I have been taken advantage of by this company!
I will be requesting a chargeback from my bank account as I have all the proof that I had contacted tuggs and their refusal to help!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We were very sorry to learn of the loss of your dog, and we appreciate this must have been an extremely difficult time.

We do, however, need to clarify a number of points raised in your review.

When the account was created, the email address entered contained an error, which meant order confirmations and account emails could not be delivered to you. We did not amend your email address at any stage. Unfortunately, if incorrect details are entered during sign-up, this can prevent access to the account and stop key communications from being received.

We have also carefully reviewed our inbox records and did not receive the earlier emails you referenced from 1st March or 8th March. The first direct contact we received and were able to respond to was later in March. Had we received contact sooner, or had the account details been corrected earlier, we would of course have been happy to assist in resolving matters much sooner.

In addition, account records show activity in December where the next delivery date was amended to February. This indicates the account had been accessed and the upcoming subscription order was visible prior to dispatch.

Regarding delivery, the parcel was delivered using the courier service selected, with photographic confirmation supplied. We have checked the matter raised with DPD, who did not confirm any prior contact from you requesting a safe place amendment.

We completely understand that this situation has been upsetting, particularly given the circumstances, but we must also be clear that we have not ignored you, altered account details, or attempted to take advantage in any way. Once we were properly contacted, we responded and reviewed the account based on the information available to us.

We’re sorry matters have ended this way and wish you all the best going forward.

We approached Tuggs as our golden retriever puppy is such a fussy eater. We struggle to find the right food or treats for her. Janine who was helping us find the right fit for Daisy is amazing. She is so helpful and lovely to speak to.

We recommend their calm sticks, especially for teething puppies as well as the whole treats range. Amazing company and fantastic branding.

My dog LOVES tuggs

Tuggs has been great! My dog looks forward to her food again and her stomach is sooo much happier than when she was just on dry. Great value too!

Fabulous fresh food

I ordered the first lot of food as a tester for my dogs.
Having French bulldogs are challenging with food.
Anyway 3 months on and they are just thriving in this food.
It is so fresh a wholesome with no rubbish added.
Definitely worth trying with the money off first order

Wow what can I say .amazing

Wow what can I say ..
well just off phone call to Jen at customer service and she was and is amazing . What a lovely lady .. I had issue ordering my Daphnes food as was getting muddled with how much to order etc as mixing tuggs with some dry kibble too .
Jen talked it all through with me and explained how to change order online etc .
Daphne loves Tuggs and with her being a fluffy Frenchie she is fussy ..
Her coat is so shiny .. Her poo is solid lol and she is never sick !!!
Take it from me I’ve tried so many other foods but Tuggs is the BEST ..
Thank you Jen for everything and looking forward to trying her chew and gut tablets too xxxxxx

Following on from my previous review I wanted to update to say that Tuggs very kindly reimbursed for the spoiled food. I appreciate that and so have adjusted my rating to 3 because they listened and rectified the problem with a refund and apology.

Absolutely disgusting food my dogs…

Absolutely disgusting food my dogs really didnt like it at all i tried just adding bits at a time but they would eat their dry food and leave the tuggs when they would have some their poo looked disgusting like it was full of black little dots im guessing that the insect protein absolutely never again will i feed this to my dogs its disgusting will stick with another brand i know they love bb

We’re genuinely sorry to hear that Tuggs wasn’t the right fit for your dogs. Every dog has individual preferences, and while many thrive on our recipes, we completely understand that not every food suits every dog.

We’d just like to clarify one point - the “black little dots” you noticed are tricolour quinoa, a natural ingredient in our meals. Once digested, quinoa can appear as small dark specks, which is completely normal and not related to insect protein.

We’re disappointed that you didn’t reach out to us directly, as we’re always happy to help with transitions, portion adjustments, or recipe guidance. Often small changes can make a big difference, and we would have welcomed the opportunity to support you.

Suggs enjoys his Tuggs

This food has improved my boys stool as well as indigestion. He started bringing his water up sometimes from walks, but this seems to have stopped. He hates the fish, but you can't like everything. All the other meals he loves, especially the chicken. He has had many of these other brands like this and gone off them quite quickly, this time I feel different as he goes back to the bowl to finish licking any flavour off. Personally I hate the packets it comes in, I would love to see more environmentally friendly, but I guess that pushes the price up. 10 out of 10 as I dont have to cook meals for him anymore.

Discount offer not honoured!!

Update : Harry from Tuggs reached out to me and refunded the 20% for the discount I was originally offered. My dog does enjoy Tuggs so I've amended my rating as the food is good but taken off as star to reflect a less than perfect customer service.

I was emailed an offer of 20% of plus free bag of treats to restart my plan. I clicked direct from the email to restart the subscription.
The 20% discount was not applied and no bag of treats were received.
On contacting them they replied that they didn't know why I would expect 20% discount!! I forwarded their email showing the offer and they have offered to apply it to my next offer.
What started as a minor grievance which was easily resolved by refunding the 20% overpaid has turned into a situation where I feel scammed and no longer want to use this company again.

My 9kg Poochon who has colitis (well…

My 9kg Poochon who has colitis (well managed), has been eating Tuggs for 2 months now. So far, so good. He loves the chicken, turkey and fish recipes. No problems switching over. It’s a little pricey but only about £20 a month more than what he was having before which was all home cooked. I would recommend this 100%

Great Company

I have had a few Issues mainly with delivery being late and box packaging but to be fair the company have always gone out of their way to put this right as quickly as possible.
The food itself is of great quality and my dogs love it, their coats are fabulous and it’s has put a stop to those awful loose stools my boy had before.
Highly recommended

Swapped my dog to this food as it came…

Swapped my dog to this food as it came highly rated on all about dog food. I notice my dog started to loose weight I thought ok new food let’s see if he levels out. He didn’t he carried on losing weight he went down to 6.6kg and at that point I looked to the food how did he manage to loose weight when I was feeding him over and above the guidelines for his weight and breed he was nearly on the same amount per day than my 20kg bulldog. Who incidentally has also dropped weight rapidly. So on the 30th January I’ve swapped both my dogs to Bella and Duke and Bailey who was 6.6kg has now reached 7kg. Definitely not a coincidence. You may have many 1000,s of happy dogs but this food clearly did something to both my dogs.

Had you contacted us when you first noticed the weight loss, our customer care team would have been more than happy to review your dogs’ details with you and amend their plans accordingly to better suit their needs.

This is the first review we’ve seen where weight loss of this nature has been mentioned, which suggests this situation is very much an exception rather than the norm. Having looked at your account, we can see that the settings for your dogs weren’t as tailored as they could have been, and this is something we routinely help customers fine-tune with great success.

What can I say about Tuggs

What can I say about Tuggs. 5 years ago my dog was diagnosed with chronic colitis and IBD. His eating habits were so bad he rarely ate. I tried all the "Vet Approved" stuff and recommended food. But nothing, I seen tuggs advertised and thought why not. It's an absolute game changer not only is he eating regular hes actually wanting more. When I seen the price I thought thats quite expensive but on reality £77 a month is actually really good especially when its so beneficial for him. I've had 2 orders delivered and he loves every meal. Highly highly recommend this brand

Game changer for gut issues

Honestly a game changer for my dogs gut issues. No more sloppy poop! After trying various different food and supplements this is the only thing that has completely cleared it up. Plus he loves it. Easy to use subscription portal and regular email updates.
