This looks like a wonderful new group for both teachers and students; they have been very efficient in engaging with me as a freelance teacher. I used to work for First Tutors which closed suddenly and I am very grateful that Tutorperch decided to start a new agency where they only charge the students a one off small fee to get in touch with tutors. They don't add a fee of 25% to each lesson like all the other agencies; in this way the costs for lessons are a lot more affordable. This agency deserves a lot of success.

Wonderful team who are responsive, helpful and have been brilliant supporting tutors. The price is excellent for students and parents to secure the contact details of prospective tutors. So grateful to them for taking the time to source and input our reviews lost when First Tutors abruptly disappeared. Well done!

While Tutorperch itself is a new platform (2026), the co-founders have found a way to import thousands of verified, archived tutor reviews from the now defunct First Tutors site, an industry leader for the past two decades. This ensures that parents can still browse and choose tutors with established experience and great reputations, based on years' worth of authenticated reviews. And unlike the vast majority of tuition platforms, which take a sizeable commission for every lesson taught (costing families more in the long run), Tutorperch has the fair and transparent business model of taking a one-time introductory fee -- after that, parents and tutors take the reins. Brilliant first impressions of this new tutoring site. The communication is very quick and responsive, the site is intuitive to use and provides a much fairer presentation of available tutors than the site many of us have migrated from.

An excellent and fair alternative to First Tutors which without warning suddenly closed down after 20 years, leaving parents and teachers alike in the lurch. Tutorperch is a platform that is easy for tutors/teachers to advertise on and parents to find a suitable teacher for their child without paying huge commission that most tutoring websites now charge. A comfortable and secure perch for all.

The zero-commission model is the best and most straightforward way for tutors to find students and earn a living and to minimise prices for students. In my brief time working with them, they have been responsive and transparent.

I am a tutor who worked with First Tutors for many years, so the closure was honestly quite worrying at first.

Tutorperch has been one of the few platforms actively trying to support tutors during this transition. I especially appreciate that they do not take commission from tutors or parents for every lesson, which I think is a much fairer model for education.

Too many tutoring websites now take large percentages from both tutors and families, which can make lessons unnecessarily expensive while tutors still receive less.

Tutorperch is still growing, but the team has been responsive, transparent and supportive so far, and I appreciate the effort they are making to help tutors preserve their reviews and profiles fairly.

An excellently designed website – very calm, easy to navigate, and with an array of high-quality tutors.

Also, the website only charges parents a small one-off fee to hire a specific tutor, rather than taking a hefty commission on each lesson (most tutoring websites add a 25% fee to the price of the actual tutor) making the tutors on this website, in all likelihood, much better value for money.

I am one of the many tutors that were catastrophically let down by First Tutors ghosting us for nearly three weeks before they admitted they have ceased to exist. Thank God for the internet and a forum on Reddit about what would happen to us. I personally started tutoring with First Tutors in 2010, so that's A LOT of excellent reviews that I assumed have disappeared along with First Tutors.

And then I heard about Tutorperch, who have seized the opportunity to rescue both tutors and clients, set up a functional way of joining very easily and... big drum roll... TOLD US HOW TO GET OUR DATA BACK FROM FT!!!

So far, all I can say is that they have been incredibly responsive. May tutorperch and all who sail in her thrive and continue doing what we love-which is helping students to fulfil their dreams.

Let's spread the word so that parents and tutors alike can trust Tutor perch to provide the same service as First Tutors ( except in its final days !!) without comission or fees taken from tutors . That was the best part of FT and the only reason I didn't join any of the others !!

An excellent tutoring platform with a very professional, responsive, and helpful team. Very easy to use with no hidden costs or catches. Easy to sign up for both tutors and parents/students, simple and clear messaging, and other helpful features such as DBS check badges on tutor profiles.
