I only drink Earl Grey tea, and I have been a loyal Twinings customer for years. Unfortunately, it seems the recipe has been altered, producing a watered-down version that no longer satisfies my tastebuds. I now find myself needing to use two tea bags and even microwave them just to get my morning fix.

Why is the company no longer using bergamot oil? “Flavouring” is not the same - this is a nation of tea lovers, and we deserve a proper Earl Grey. Mixing in lemon peel with bergamot changes the classic character of the tea. This version is bland and over-complicated - what is this, Fifty Shades of Earl Grey? No. Classic Earl Grey should be black tea and bergamot oil, nothing else.

Until Twinings restores the brand’s name and the authentic recipe, I will be avoiding their tea.

J'ai trouvé une plume (environ 3cm) dans mon the russe en vrac. Le sav m'a dit de retourner la plume. Les experts ont confirmé que c'était une plume! (Au cas où je ne sache pas reconnaître une plume).. dédommagement un carnet de 10 bons de réduction de 2.50 euros. Je leur ai dit que venant d'une entreprise comme la leur je m'attendais à mieux!!( je ne parle pas financier) on parle là d'un corps étranger dans une boîte de thé !! Imaginez déjeuner au resto et trouver un cheveux ou poils!! Bref il n'ont pas compris ma requête ne sachant quoi faire car pour twinings des bons de réductions compense d'une plume dans leur boîte... désolée mais quel manque de classe venant d'une entreprise de thé anglais.!! A mon avis un autre aurai envoyer un colis avec des assortiments, coffret , je ne sais pas mais excuser moi des bons de réductions c'est très petit...je l'ai ai donné à ma maman et désormais je vais chez DAMMANN.. meilleurs, plus cher peut être mais plus classe...

I should’ve read the side effects before purchasing this awful product. The taste is awful but that isn’t the only issue. After drinking only half of their metabolism tea I got diarrhoea and was going to the bathroom about 12 times a DAY. I had to take two days off work because of my bowel problems and couldn’t leave the house. I would stay away from this product.

The company has changed the packaging, is using what appear to be plastic tea bag packets instead of paper, and is the tea fresher for it? Quite the reverse. Pour boiling water over a new Earl Grey teabag and the water slowly, slowly begins to turn light amber. It takes two teabags to get the normal color and flavor. I’m hearing the same about the newly repackaged Irish Breakfast: the tea is disappointing long-time users.

Despite all the packaging, half the items I'd ordered were badly squashed. Packet of biscuits unpresentable. Teabags strewn everywhere. What a mess. The items were a gift too so it was hugely disappointing. Will not order from Twinings again.

Twinnings six variety box gift set in a Twinnings bag, is an excellent product and makes a great present. Customer service was equally excellent.

Oh dear Twinings, what's happened?
I've been drinking Earl Grey teabags for years without any problems, but now, every cup I have, the bag splits & there's loose tea at the bottom of my mug!
Seems like others on here have been having similar problems. I thought it was just an issue with a particular packet, but it looks like they're all the same! What a shame!
As someone else said, maybe they're using cheaper ways of making their tea bags. Too much competition from Yorkshire tea perhaps?

I attended the tea experience in central London and it was Fantastic. We were hosted by Pei who was very knowledgable and showed so much passion for tea! would highly recommend!!

I have been drinking 2,3 or 4 mugs of Twinings Lemon and Ginger tea per day for many years. Coincidentally, or so I thought, my health has been getting progressively worse over the years. Increasing fatigue, heart palpitations, digestive issues, bloating, brain fog, constant cough and production of phlegm and night sweats. I had the idea that the ginger could be causing the night sweats so I stopped drinking the lemon and ginger. After 2 days the night sweats went away but to my amazement as the days past my fatigue went away, my digestive issues improved and whilst still coughing, the phlegm started to clear up. I am feeling incrementally better each day. I now realise that for years I have been slowly poisoning myself one mug at a time. This may only be lemon and ginger tea but it should be used with care, or in my case not at all.

I have been drinking Twinnings ‘Earl Grey Tea’ for many many years but I may have to move to another brand. I noticed many months ago that the actually bag that holds the tea has fallen in quality, thinner and easily breaking up. I think they may be saving on quality as a lot of retailers around the world are doing due to the cost of living.

Hadn't bought nambarrie for a few years as my partner wasn't keen(to strong) but her son has grown to love strong tea and I suggested nambarrie because it was a nice 2 cup teabag. What's happened to the strong tea it use to be, it's no stronger than tetley, really disappointed. Twinings need to remove the strong from the description as it is no longer a strong cup of tea.

Not a trace of Yasmine flavour or odour. I really feel cheeted.

Disappointed with the lack of availability of your popular, well-received products, meanwhile you're focusing on "trendy" and "new" unusual ones that no one wants. Not only on your online store, but in other stores that carry your products.

just love the English breakfast tea , really nice

After years of buying Twinings Breakfast and Earl Grey Teabags - we’ll do so no longer. Has the basic tea leaf changed? Breakfast Tea is no longer lively and lovely. The recent box of 80 Classic Blend Earl Grey is tasteless. And horrible. It’s going to the compost heap. We’ve changed to Clipper Earl Grey with “natural bergamot” and it’s better.

Online ordering was easy. I bought a number of items. Two items arrived damaged and one out of date. I've given a 5 star review because these things happen; the important thing is how the customer service deals with it. Twinnings immediately replied and sent out replacements.

What on earth has happened to Twinings breakfast tea bags? Not only have packs halved in size (!!!!) for more money, but the bags have less tea in them AND the quality of the teabags has deteriorated so much that on opening we find some teabags are not properly sealed and the packet is full of loose tea. More than shrinkflation then. What a shame. This used to be our favourite.

I love twinings tea and always happy to try there many varieties but I tell you now!! I kid you not!! Stay clear of Twining Distinctively Smoky tea!! It's absolutely revolting 😝 it tastes like the ashes from a burnt out house horrible experience that left me with a headache 😫
