We recently had storm Christophe in Liverpool and the storm damaged my roof ,their was damage to my flashings on the stack and my roof needed a bonding gutter. A roofer came and gave me a quote and I took pictures of the damage that was caused. I made a claim and uia sent a surveyor who tried to claim the damage was exacerbated due to poor workmanship on the roof what a complete joke as my roof is only three years old . Don't use uia as they clearly only want your money and don't want to pay out. A real bad company beware.

Although I applied on line, i found it really easy and the response was quick. The cover seems to include all our needs to date. Hopefully We will not need to claim but we can only hope that experience will be as easy as applying. Thank you

Wish I’d read these reviews before I took insurance with them. Had a flood in the house at the end of November and have waited all this time to get driers and dehumidifier in . They arrived this week.Now I keep being drip fed e mails from the loss adjuster as to what quotes are required by the insurance company. Surely at the start they could say “look we require this , this and this. To make matters worse they keep wanting two quotes for everything. I don’t want loads of different people in my house with this COVID thing. I look after my 101 yr old mum so am really worried about all these extra people in the house. I got a restoration company doing the repairs because I thought they would do everything from the damage to full restoration....but this insurance company is putting me and my family at risk by requesting double quotes

I moved to UIA just over a year ago. The payments were slightly less than my last provider and they were recommended by my union.
Yesterday I had to make my first claim. Wonderfully professional and friendly on the phone. Since then each email I’ve sent has been responded to very promptly and I’ve already been told my settlement will be with me in 3-5 days.
