Absolutely horrible service

Absolutely horrible service! 1st day I got it my brand new batteries wouldn't charge and they said I owed them money because they claimed it was my fault! I hadn't even owned it longer than 24 hours!

I am sorry for your troubles. Batteries have an 18 month warranty through the manufacturer. When there is an issue, the battery supplier examines and determines if they are warrantied. We do not have any say in it. There are a lot of things that can happen to batteries and I am not aware of the exact issue you had, but we have seen all kinds of things happen to batteries. It would be nice if all golf carts had gas engines because batteries are the number one issue people have and we, being the middle man between the battery supplier and the customer, always get the blame.

Don’t go to Ultimate Golf Carts

We came to Ulitmate In fall 2015, picked out our EZGO cart which was going to be rebuilt, designed the cart we wanted and discussed price and storage. This was in the fall and we needed it stored for the winter. We would pick up in the spring. We were told this was fine.

When we called in the spring of 2016, we were told our cart had been sold...someone came in, liked it and bought it. We were not happy. The person said, “don’t worry, we can build another one just like it.” We now had to wait for this to be rebuilt.

When we picked up the cart, we were given a used charger. If someone is willing to pay $6,000 for a rebuilt golf cart, add $300 for a NEW charger.

We have had had numerous issues with this cart. When we would call to ask questions, their answer is always bring it in and we can look at it. No one is willing to work through the issues over the phone. Our cart is 100 miles from where the dealer is.

The used charger we were given stopped working within 8 months. We were given another used charger and this one stopped working too. Our awesome LED lights have now stopped working and we now have to take our cart in as something else is wrong with it. We are not happy about this given the fact we paid $6000 two years ago!

Let me remind you, this is not the cart we originally picked out. The dealer sold the cart we picked out! We are not happy! We have had people ask about our cart and where we got it. NEVER IN A MILLON YEARS WILL WE RECOMMEND ULTIMATE GOLF CARTS!!!

Go elsewhere. With all the issues we have had, we have found there are other places to buy golf carts.

So, I received a response, on my original review, saying our cart was sold due to a serial number mix up. Funny...when I asked how this happened, the response was, “your cart was done, sitting here and someone liked it. We sold it and will build you another one. It’s ok, cause we’ll use a newer cart. You’ll get a 2011 now, vs the 2010 that you had originally picked out.

We found out today that the cart we ended up with is a 2010, not a 2011 like they said. Lies, lies and more lies. Like I said earlier, there are other places to spend your hard earned money. Please don’t give it to these guys!

I am sorry to hear what happened. We would never ever knowingly sell a golf cart that had been sold to someone else. It was due to a serial number mix up. But I am working on solutions and not making excuses. That is the reason we hired Trust Pilot to collect reviews and work on improving our process and customer service.

Happy with the golf cart itself, BUT...

Happy with the golf cart itself. We were spending $450 each of the last 4 years to rent a golf cart for our annual 2 week vacation so this year we decided to buy one. We had 20 days before leaving on our vacation and went to several locations to look at carts. When we went to ultimate carts and found the one we wanted we decided to have a couple things added to it. I then asked if it could be ready in 10 days and was assured it would be. They offered financing through Sheffield which we were already pre-approved, but they suggested we use their local credit union so we went home and applied through them. We get a call from the credit union stating they no longer finance golf carts so I called ultimate carts and gave them my approval number for Sheffield. I was shocked to discover they wouldn't release the cart until Sheffield released the funds into their account! Who does that? So I waited patiently, several days, no phone calls. I call them and they said they had the funds and were ordering my upgrades so it would be another week! So we put a non refundable $500 down payment on this cart and instead of getting the parts ordered right away they waited until a major finance company deposited the money into their account. They left us hanging. No updates, no courtesy calls on the status, nothing. When I called 7 days before vacation the receptionist told me that they make a lot of promises! I did take delivery the day before vacation which was a huge inconvenience, but nonetheless I got it in time. Just know that they will tell you anything to get your business. I should mention that a year ago I was shopping for an enclosed snowmobile trailer. I had a pre approval from Sheffield. I found a trailer through a very small dealer and after looking at it and agreeing on a price I asked the owner if he used Sheffield for financing. He said he was registered with them but never used them before so if I wanted to take the trailer with me that night I would need to be patient while he called Sheffield and had them walk him through everything. I left with my new trailer 45 minutes later! I've had my cart for 2 -1/2 months now and the charger started on fire. When I called to see about replacement they said I could get a refurbished one for $329 or pay to have mine rebuilt. No mention of the charger being warrantied and really didn't feel like they gave a crap about it. I will not recommend this place to any of our friends.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry for the financing issues you had. Spire credit union gave us no notice when they decided to stop financing golf carts. Until then they were great to work with. The timing of your transaction coincided with their decision. I am not sure regarding the information you were given regarding Sheffield if it was correct. I know their policy is they need the loan docs signed before they can fund the loan and until then, there is no guarantee of funding. So we have to get the signature and get a funding confirmation from Sheffield before we can release the vehicle. We are looking for another bank that was as easy to work with as Spire was.

I will never purchase a golf cart from…

I will never purchase a golf cart from this place again. It is dirty, messy, and on organized. There does not appear to be anyone in charge and no order of operations. I felt that there was no pride of ownership in the final product. One of the worst purchasing experiences ever.

Thank you for your review. it definitely gives me some things to ponder. We are constantly working to improve our business on all fronts. I am not sure if you are referring to our showroom, warehouse or shop being dirty but we have some new service techs this year that we have trained to clean up their work stations in between every job. When it gets busy, though, in peak season I can see how it can get a little messy. We do a periodic deep organization of the warehouse but we share it with another business and we always try to keep the showroom clean and organized.
We do have an order of operations but being seasonal, when we have new employees coming in each season, it can take time to train them properly. Last year we hired an operations manager who was supposed to help with order of operations but instead hired a bunch of millennials with no work ethic and then quit after 2 months. Chalk that up as a learning experience. So this year family has stepped up more with management oversight and we have focused on bringing in a few skilled technicians with good work ethic. We have still been short staffed in the office this season, and have found it difficult to find good, reliable people. Office is important because they are usually the first point of contact. We do care about the business which is why we invited our customers to give us this feedback. We will continue to work towards bettering our business. There will always be some hiccups along the way so I apologize for your negative experience.

We love our golf cart

We love our golf cart and the purchasing experience was great. The only downside was that they had two paint chips in the box labeled the same thing, so of course we got the "Ruby Red" color we did not pick out. They offered to re-paint for no cost but we had towed our trailer up from Apple Valley and were taking the cart up to Finlayson, so it would have been a whole big hassle. So we kept it. The color is fine, but still a iittle bummed it's not what we really wanted.

Displeased

Bought a cart here about a year and a half ago so that my 90 year old great grandmother could get around her farm property. Batteries were looking pretty worn so the saleman assured me that when we needed new batteries (4) he would give us a deal. Called there earlier this week and spoke to a woman that crabbily told me that he no longer worked there and she would not honor the deal, even with receipt proving I purchased a cart from them less than 2 years ago. The reassurance of batteries was one if the main reasons I purchased from Ultimate Golf Carts in the first place, since 4 batteries run about $800-$1200 (locally).
Very displeased and we will not be doing business here again
