Revising review and upgrading to 2 stars because they did provide a refund in response to the 1-star review, which was unexpected but appreciated. The onboarding and setup was not smooth but not terrible. The low rating is based on our lack of results, their inability to correct that, and mostly the inherent risk of using this kind of service.

There was some minor improvement to onsite SEO but the real concern is with the large volume of low quality backlinks. It is difficult to verify their claims due to the minimal transparency they provided, however independent site audits we conducted confirmed the low quality backlinks and the impact that had on our site reputation. Most of the backlinks we could find were link farms and bot generated blog posts. (You get what you pay for.) This is correctable by providing Google with a disavow list but it can take time for your site reputation to be restored.

We tried to inquire on several occasions about why we were seeing negligible improvement in our Google rankings and were basically told to be patient. After six months of negligible results we decided to cut bait and try a different approach. It was only later that we discovered the reputational damage and started undoing it.

In contrast to the lack of effective service, we've received several guilt-ridden emails trying to convince us to take down this honest review. That should be an additional warning sign about where their priorities lie.

We've read other accounts of similar experiences, along with an account of how Upweb tries to convince them that their links are high quality and that it doesn't really matter anyways. Based on that and the independent analysis we weren't interested in listening to a sales pitch. Make of it what you will.

In summary, it's probably fair that some may find their service to be of benefit but our observation suggests this approach presents risks to be aware of.

Honest company, unfortunately not a fit for my domain. I would recommend addressing client account with a single advisor rather than multiple channel(s) of communication.

One could say that UpWeb is too easy to work with. Why do I say that? They do their job, and send reports. We get tired of looking at the reports, but they keep at it. Finally, we get to the point where we have no idea what the heck is going on, so we go and check the info on their website for our website, and discover we can see the progress for each keyword over time. Very cool. And it seems that there is a lot of “noise” in the Google system. OK, no problem. We have so many key words and phrases in the top 3 and 10, it is amazing. And they keep us there, even though others are trying to muscle in… 🙂 We spend zero time on this, so “too easy.” Isn’t that what you want? 5 stars easy.

I hired UpWeb in March of 2021 to improve my website's SEO. After one year I started getting keywords on page one and after two years almost all of the keywords we targeted are on page one. I see traffic to my store directly coming from these SEO improvements. Everybody I worked with at UpWeb, Ben, Dean, and Ally, were all very knowledgeable, friendly, and great at explaining complex tech terms in an understandable way. Also, their pricing was very affordable for a micro business e-commerce store owner like me.

Great service. I have been spending money on freelancers for SEO service
