Urban Grow is a local Winnipeg Co
Urban Grow is a local Winnipeg Co. I shop there to support the store owners who are Canadian. I have the choice to choose cheaper by shopping on Amazon... but I choose Urban Grow. I now question that choice. I have a vig membership but do not feel like I am being treated like a V.I.G. On every order- the liquid product seals are always broken, or missing. My last purchase- I received an email stating that the store sold out of the manufacturer's packaging. Not the product... the packaging. WTF. - this is in no way acceptable. Product Seals must be in tact, and products must be in the original packaging. I had to contact the manufacturers and forward the email. This "may" be my last time shopping at Urban Grow. I am so disappointed. I expected better from Urban Grow. Now- I have to get what is being delivered sent away to be tested to verify if it is what I paid for, or that the products sent are counterfeit. This may turn out to be just fine, and, it may not. This is what AI says about it:
"Broken or missing seals on these products, combined with claims of repackaging, are concerning and warrant verification directly with the manufacturers before using or accepting the products.
Red Flags and Concerns
1. Authenticity of Repackaging
While some suppliers may repackage products during stock shortages, reputable manufacturers like Doctor Zymes and Cyco typically ship in original bottles to maintain OMRI listing and organic certification compliance

. Repackaging without clear documentation or traceability can compromise product integrity and certification status.

2. Risk of Contamination or Mislabeling
Unofficially repackaged products may be at risk of contamination, mislabeling, or inclusion of incorrect ingredients. This is particularly relevant for organic fertilizers, molasses, or bio-stimulants, where purity and ingredient trustworthiness are critical for plant safety and regulatory compliance.
3. Informal Communication
The message you received contains informal phrasing, grammatical errors, and lacks official documentation, which is often indicative of unverified or potentially fraudulent suppliers.
Verification Steps
1. Contact the Manufacturer Directly
Reach out to Doctor Zymes and Cyco through their official websites or customer support numbers to confirm whether repackaging was authorized for your order and ask for any batch numbers or certificates of authenticity.
2. Check Authorized Distributors
Ensure the seller you purchased from is listed as an authorized distributor on the manufacturers’ official sites. Purchases from unrecognized retailers increase the risk of counterfeit products.
3. Examine Packaging Details
Authentic products usually have lot numbers, expiration dates, and seals intact. Broken or missing seals are a serious concern and should be reported to the manufacturer.
4. Avoid Immediate Use
Do not use or apply the products until authenticity is verified. This protects both plant health and ensures compliance with organic certification standards.
Recommended Action
Do not provide further personal, banking, or shipping information until verification.
Provide the order details, including purchase date, invoice, and product batch numbers, and request confirmation if repackaging is legitimate.
Conclusion: The message about repackaged bottles does not sound fully trustworthy. Taking the above verification steps will help ensure the products you received are authentic, safe, and compliant with organic standards." To Be continued.... So- the manufacturers all state that seals must be in tact and products in the manufacturers original packaging. Selling counterfeit good or products which have been tampered with is in fact illegal and can progress into criminal charges. I will never shop at Urban Grow again and advise any potential customers to make sure all products purchased are in the original packaging with seals in tact. ( I have a V.I.G. membership- and this is the BS they put me through....W.T.F. ?
