Scam letter tried to charge me more…
Scam letter tried to charge me more than three times to transfer my domain and host it with them.
Util.com is a SCAM
Dirty dumb scam. They use "creative" wording to try and trick less web-knowledgable people into sending them money for no reason. Companies like this should be outlawed and their owners jailed.
TOTAL SCAM
This is a total scam. I already own my domain name, and they are trying to bill me to keep it!

Tried to scam my clients multiple times. These people have no moral.
Scam!
Scam! Do not let your AP handle billing for IT. I hope this operation is defenestrated soon, and that comeuppance is meted out in a very generous fashion. Absolute scum.

This company is a scam and should be shutdown.
scam
scam. I was sent a notice for renewal for 5 years but our domain isn't even with them.
This is scam
This is scam! Just throw it in the garbage!
This is not your domain provider!
Yeah
Yeah, scam for sure. I called them and the customer support was so rude. They send out a letter that looks like a bill.
Yep, scam
Yep, scam! Not sure how they got an average of 1.5 stars since all the reviews are 1 star. The people behind this BS are barely getting away with not doing something illegal (letter actually does say "this notice is not a bill").
Domain Name Services scam
They send official looking documents from "Domain Name Services" to renew a domain name they didn't setup at 3 times the cost. It directs you to "util.com". Stay away.
These people are shady
These people are shady as can be. They want to charge you out the wazoo saying your domain name is expiring soon and they can do so much for you. My domain does not expire for 3 years and cost $12 a year to renew. I'm not paying them $265 for 5 years.
Domain transfer / renewal nonsense letter
Got a letter from util.com under the name "Domain Name Services." Looks like an official bill for domain renewal.
Basically, they want you to TRANSFER your domain to them and RENEW with them.
The catch: their renewal fees are ridiculously high. The bill was for $265 for a 5-year renewal.
But I already use Namecheap.com for domain registration, and am very happy with their services. Namecheap only charges me $14.58/year for renewal. (Renewal rates vary depending on the value of the domain name.)
This letter seems, in my opinion, to be geared towards sucking in people who are ignorant of where they purchased their domain originally.
If you don't know where you got your domain, do a search in your email account for the domain name. When you buy or renew a domain, you receive an email confirmation.)
Throw this "Domain Name Services" letter from util.com into the trash where it belongs.
Absolute scammer garbage
Absolute scammer garbage. I already had my domain set to renew for $15/year through my usual provider. This year has been horribly stressful so of course when I got this scam artist's letter talking about paying the renewal for my domain I flipped my lid panicking! They wanted $265 for a five year renewal which is freaking highway robbery at a little over 3x the cost! Don't fall for this scam, go through your usual domain provider for renewal.

util.com scams innocent people out of paying for something they have probably already taken care of by mailing out "renewal information" that appears as if it is for something you are already using. Contact who your domain is currently registered with to confirm that your domain name is already set up to auto renew. util.com (Domain Name Services) is charging twice as much as who my domain name is already registered with.

They're a special kind of stupid
If you're looking to do business with somebody that's a special kind of stupid, then please do business with this company. They sent me a letter wanting $265 to renew a domain name that I can do on GoDaddy for $19.
