Vinfolio's overall execution can improve in several areas:
1. Customer service - The current methods to contact Vinfolio are rudimentary (phone & e-mail only), which leads to instances where e-mails go unanswered. The service staff is courteous and helpful (if you can contact them), but the customer service experience is very much hit-or-miss and therefore has a lot of room for improvement.
2. Inventory management - This is Vinfolio's weakest area in my opinion. The delay between the time wine is shipped to Vinfolio and when receipt at Vinfolio is acknowledged varies widely, but 4+ months is not unusual. You then have to wait for the wine to show up in your account for an additional period or several weeks or months. If you are not a meticulous record keeper, you will certainly have trouble managing your collection in Vinfolio's storage service.
3. Purchase fulfillment - I purchased a few wines from Vinfolio back in mid-2020 and I am still waiting for some of them to be fulfilled and added to my collection. I realize that sometimes the wines are sold for shipping at a later date, but in most instances, the wine arrives much later than advertised at the time of the sale. The difficulties in purchasing wine from Vinfolio are compounded by the inventory management issues. It is unlikely I will ever purchase wine again from Vinfolio.
4. Web interface - Vinfolio's Vincellar solution is my favored cellar management solution. I like the overall way in which information can be accessed, selected, and exported. It does have some room for improvement. For example, I should be able to rename a storage location or a wine purchase source, but can't. I should also be able to delete a storage location or wine purchase source that is not associated with any wine bottle in my collection. When Vinfolio adds wine to your collection (because they received it and are storing it), they add temporary storage locations that they forget to delete when they are finished with the data entry. The result is a wine storage location list that is littered with useless temporary locations that I did not create.
5. Mobile app - It's inexplicable that Vinfolio does not have a mobile app for Android. Having to access a web interface when I want to check my inventory or the cost I paid for a bottle of wine when I am on the go is unnecessarily clumsy. Having to open a browser, authenticate, and try to use a web interface that is not mobile-friendly (although it is responsive) is disappointing.
6. Inventory service cost - Vinfolio charges a flat rate ($50 per month) for the amount of bottles I currently have in storage. I would be willing to store more wine at Vinfolio, but given the previously discussed issues, I do try to avoid using the Vinfolio storage service. This increases my storage cost per bottle to a point where I have to make a decision whether to continue using Vinfolio to store my wine. Most wineries will not ship to my location, which makes a wine storage service a necessity, but the final answer may be that Vinfolio is not the adequate choice for me.
Shipping price was fair, inventory was done fairly fast, great stuff!

Worst place I will never send wines there completely unorganized
Sometimes the delivery to my cellar @ VF takes a long time. I have to revise my inventory frequently to ask for wines pending arrival.
I had forgotten to have my wine shipped for Christmas. I contacted VF and they made the effort to get it to me in two days. Just fantastic customer service!
I totally get it- it’s COVID and things are tough- customer service has fallen off at Vinfolio. I never know what is happening with my wine or if it has been received or not. I placed my order several days before Dec 28 and then got the acknowledgment on Dec 28. Everyone at Vinfolio is super super nice and I know you are all trying really hard. I’m sure you are swamped.
Storage inventory tracking is painfully slow
Delays in wine delivery, getting the wrong delivery date , off by two months. Poor notification of wine arrivals and delivery changes.
Performance is average at best. I’ve purchased bottles that are characterized as being in stock, yet I receive no updates on their status for months. Only after inquiry do I receive updates indicating that the bottles are expected “soon”. Only after multiple inquiries was I finally able to secure shipment. I love my Vinfolio app and find the numerous offers intriguing, but I won’t be purchasing many more bottles if this level of service is the norm. There are too many other outlets that provide much better service.
Service was great when i finally got someone on the phone..... but it took multiple emails and multiple phone calls to get a response from Vinfolio.
Never received my wines that I ordered 4 months ago. Emailed to follow up on my order only to find out it was oversold. Major oversight. What if I never followed up on my order? Does this mean Vinfolio would've kept my money?
It’s been six months since my wines have been delivered and I’m still waiting for them to show up in my inventory. Recent shipment request for 12 bottles was missing 2 which I was informed would be shipped separately but never showed up. No response from customer service.
Resonse of customer service inquries greatly improved after my last poor review!! I hope it can continue to better from here on in.
