Exceptional service received throughout…

Exceptional service received throughout the selection, purchase and supply and after sales of my new lathe. It was delivered carefully and exactly on schedule.
There was one small component which was not 100% and Warco (Tim) provided a replacement part within 24 hours accompanied by very courteous communications.
Service second to none. Very refreshing these days.

First rate after sales service

Bought a rear toolpost with a parting blade for my Myford lathe. The height is not adjustable other than by shims so wants to be on centre from the start. Mine was a millimetre too high and so needed skimming on a mill. Rang Warco expecting them to exchange it and was very impressed when they offered to rework it for me, arranged for courier collection and delivery at no charge and turned it round in a couple of days. Old fashioned customer service. Highly recommended.

Warco CJ0618 Mini Lathe…

I purchased my Warco CJ0618 Mini Lathe nearly 20 years ago. It has been a superb workhorse for me. Over the years there have been one or two niggles which have always been sorted oput quickly with excellent advice.
Finally, after 19 years the drive belt disintegrated along with the motor drive pulley. Warco have been extremely helpful with a phone call from an engineer and the necessary parts arriving the next day. To say that I am very pleased with their service is the understatement of the year! Many thanks Warco.

Great quality machine

Got exactly what I ordered, sent very quickly considering it was a hefty old bit of kit. The only hard part was getting it positioned in my workshop but all good now it's set up. Will buy from again.

Nice people to deal with.

Nice people to deal with.
I like that they're not just an anonymous web company but have a showroom you can visit. Found them to be knowledgeable - although bear in mind I am not a professional engineer, just a beginner really. When I was there I picked up some lathe cutting tools and a digital caliper. All good so far but if anything breaks I'll update this, so far quality wise bits seem excellent.

Going since the 1970s

Been around a long time which has to count for something. Use a Warco VMC milling machine for model engineering projects. Knowing the company will stick around if I ever need parts or support was important, and nobody competes with their spare parts availability.

15 year old lathe

Bought a Warco gear head lathe in 2006 for my small business (I make motorcycle parts), been a good workhorse still going strong now.

Great expectations

Great expectations, but I was disappointed.
I ordered a few things from Warco; on the bright side, I must say that they deliver very fast, and here is the end of the positive.
Customer service is appalling, I ordered a boring tool for my milling machine, and they delivered the wrong item. When I pointed out the problem, they unapologetically admitted the error and asked to return the item at MY cost and have a refund, but since they made a mistake, they should pay for the postage back.
On top of that, the lathe I purchased 3 weeks ago developed a minor fault but no feedback from them so far.
Why should I pay a premium and have a service worse than the ordinary eBay seller?

Warco bench hobby drill

Warco , great experience all round . Despatch especially helpful and I was able to track my item via the couriers app . The bench hobby drill is a great piece of kit and would recommend it . Easy set up and it does the job o need it for . You can trust warco and I will be using them again .

I have had two machines from Warco and…

I have had two machines from Warco and both have been exceptional in terms of spec/accuracy/price. I have sold the lathe now and am waiting for a bigger one along with a bandsaw. I appreciate that delays with stock have been caused by covid and possibly brexit too (not to mention the Suez Canal)..but I am prepared to wait it out because I think they are a good reputable company who are doing their best in difficult times.

Warco seem to be suffering problems…

Warco seem to be suffering problems with dispatch maybe caused by Covid. I ordered a CY90 bandsaw and there was an exceptional delay with Despatch and delivery taking 20 days to arrive.
The bandsaw CY90 is a typical imported machine tool, good price but quality could do with a bit better quality control. Although on arrival the saw worked it needed some work to reach it’s full potential.
My saw had needed some tweaking to correct the run-out of the driven and idler wheels by machining.
Now it’s a good smooth running saw that should last many years.

Stay clear of Warco

Where to start...
I purchased a GH Universal Mill, stand and various accessories in January 2020 for personal use.
On arrival, the machine had paperwork that hadn’t been signed or completed to say that the quality control checks had been done. This is one of the main reasons why I had chosen Warco over other similar machines due to their “quality checks” but it was disappointing that this hadn’t been done. At the time, I had thought maybe they’d forgotten to complete the paperwork.
I had used the machine a handful of times and it became apparent that the column wasn’t square to the bed but a couple of shins were needed to sort the problem. Until August 2020, when the machine developed a more serious fault where the gearbox decided to self destruct breaking all of the main shafts, stripping the teeth off the gears and damaged the bearings and casing. I quickly contacted Warco with photographs to claim on their warranty. I spoke to several people there over a space of a week to arrange a replacement mill to be delivered and for the old mill to be collected. I was advised that their courier only completed curb side collections, and that they would not be able to assist with the logistics of getting the machine from my workshop, on to a pallet, and to the kerbside. When I had the first machine delivered I had used a delivery team to move the machine using hoists into position. So now I was expected to lift a 350kg machine into place on a pallet for them to collect at my own cost? Anyway... the machine eventually got collected by Palletways and the new one was moved into place.
The new machine arrived and again did not have the quality check documents completed and also had some major faults on arrival. Again, the column wasn’t square to the table, the backlash in the x and y axis had a ridiculous amount of play, the head jammed going up and down due to the column being bode and the machine regularly jumped out of gear. After only having the replacement machine a couple of days, I again contacted warco to discuss my options. No quibble, no photographs needed, no explanation, no visit from a member of staff to check the machine - straight away they offered a refund and to collect the machine. Again, we had the logistical issue at my own cost to move the machine ready for collection. The collection date was agreed. On the collection date, Palletways arrived at my door at 5:30pm to collect with the same sized vehicle as they had collected and delivered with previously. The driver was reluctant to use his pallet truck to move the pallet a few meters from the kerbside to his vehicle and decided to walk off. I contacted Palletways immediately, at this time it had began to rain very heavily. Palletways said that they had asked a third party to complete the collection for them, and provided me with the number for an alternative courier. I called this courier, and was told that the driver was unable to gain access to collect the pallet. I explained that there was £2500’s worth of machine sat in the rain, at the side of a road and that it needed to be collected and that there were no access issues their driver just clearly wanted to go home at 5:30pm on a friday. Woman I spoke to was extremely rude, and told me that driving a lorry isn’t the same as driving a car?! (I’m a HGV mechanic - really?!) I then rang Palletways back to advise of the conversation I had just had, and told them I would be accepting no liability if the machine was damaged from the torrential rain or stolen as it’s kerbside. Palletways were helpful and arranged for their own driver to collect it the following Saturday morning. Saturday morning comes... 6am in the morning... I get a phone call, two phone calls infect (as I didn’t answer the first) it was the shoddy courier company who Palletways had subbyed the collection to the previous day saying that the had a driver in the area right now - could they collect? No you bloody can’t! It’s 6am, and you should have collected it at 5:30pm when you were here yesterday! Needless to say, the person who phoned got the sharp end of my tongue that early on a weekend! The cheek of it! The pallet was successfully collected by Palletways directly at approx 10am. It took me 2 weeks to get my refund from Warco, following numerous phone calls and emails chasing the money. They did tell me that they hold all of their refunds, and do them as a ‘big batch’ which makes me question just how many other people have had the unfortunate chance of dealing with them. All in all a really painful and shoddy experience, I would strongly suggest staying well clear of them. Buy an older machine and save your heartache

Have always been spot on for me

I have used Warco several times and they have always been very helpful, recently I had an order where a part was faulty and they were excellent and resolve the issue without hesitation and a replacement was received next working day you can’t ask for anymore.
