3rd time dealing with webuycycle, first buy, i asked if they could swap some components from a similar bike they were selling, it was done no problem and at no extra cost to me. I went to the unit to pick it up and was really impressed with their set up and the knowledge and friendliness of the staff.
I have just sold them a bike and the process was flawless and super easy, great communication, there was no attempt to knock me down on price which can feel like a risk once you have posted the bike and the quoted price was in my bank by the end of the same day.

I honestly couldn’t fault my experience with Webuycycle from start to finish.

From the initial quote, they were brilliant at answering every question I had and explaining the whole process clearly. They also recommended a great bike courier service, which made getting the bike to them incredibly straightforward.

A special shout-out to Paul, who was incredibly helpful throughout. Even though he was going away, he made sure everything was organised and sorted before he left, so the team could inspect the bike and get the payment processed without any delay. That level of customer service really stood out.

Another massive thank you to Darren, who looked after things on the delivery day and ensured the payment was made as agreed by close of play. Exactly what was promised, with no chasing or hassle.

Selling through Webuycycle takes away so much of the stress and uncertainty of a private sale. Yes, you know you’ll probably get a little less than selling privately, but for me, it was absolutely worth it for the convenience, security and peace of mind. No dealing with endless messages, time wasters, arranging viewings or worrying about payment.

The whole process was professional, straightforward and completely hassle-free from beginning to end.

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience purchasing a £3,300 Cannondale Super Six Rapha Edition bike from We Buy Cycle.

On my very first ride, I noticed a very loud and obvious noise coming from the headset/handlebar area. It was concerning enough that, while out riding on my second ride, I genuinely thought there could be something wrong with the bike and that it could potentially be unsafe to continue riding.

I live 2 hours away from we buy cycle, so I took the bike to a trusted local bike shop to have it inspected. The mechanic actually spent around an hour diagnosing where the noise was coming from, as it was quite difficult to pinpoint. He eventually found that the noise was coming from the handlebars, which were rusty and completely dry, and during the inspection he also discovered that the headset bearing needed replacing.

The work therefore took close to two hours in total, including cleaning everything up, greasing it properly and fitting the new bearing. This wasn’t a case of me taking a perfectly functioning bike somewhere unnecessarily — the bike genuinely needed work doing to it.

What I find particularly frustrating is that, had We Buy Cycle properly checked the bike themselves before selling it, I wouldn’t have needed to take it to another bike shop in the first place. I didn’t want to spend my time arranging this or paying for repairs on a bike I’d just spent £3,300 on.

I also don’t understand what I was supposedly meant to do differently. If I’m out on my first ride, hear a very loud and unusual noise and genuinely think my bike may be breaking, am I supposed to stop riding, somehow get permission from the seller and wait before having a safety concern investigated? The bike needed fixing regardless of whether I contacted We Buy Cycle first.

Unfortunately, my experience with the response from We Buy Cycle made the situation even worse. Rather than receiving an apology or even an acknowledgement that it was disappointing to have these issues with a newly purchased £3,300 bike, I was spoken to in what I found to be an extremely patronising and dismissive tone, including the use of capital letters in a way that felt like I was being spoken to as though I were a child.

I was also left feeling as though I was being accused of lying, particularly regarding the “apparent” invoice figure from the bike shop. The mechanic had spent significant time diagnosing and repairing the bike, yet instead of simply acknowledging that the bike had required work, the response seemed focused on questioning how I had dealt with the situation.

And unfortunately, the problems didn’t stop there.

Within my first three rides, both tyres went flat due to what my bike shop identified as inefficient/inadequate rim taping. Because I am running the bike tubeless, this hasn’t simply meant putting a new inner tube in. On both occasions I’ve had to take the bike back to the shop to have the tyre cleaned, the rim retaped and the tyre refilled with sealant. This has cost me £30 per tyre, on top of the previous repair costs, meaning I’ve now spent approximately £170 getting my brand-new £3,300 bike into a condition where I can actually ride it reliably.

That is simply not the experience I expected when spending £3,300 on a bike.

One thing potential customers should also be aware of is that We Buy Cycle don’t test ride the bikes before selling them, so you may not necessarily know the true condition of the bike you’re purchasing until you actually start riding it yourself.

I’m not saying that buying a pre-owned bike means it should be absolutely perfect. I completely understand that. What I do expect, however, is for a £3,300 bike to be properly checked and prepared before being sold, and if something does go wrong, I expect the company to respond with some basic empathy, professionalism and accountability.

Unfortunately, I received none of that.

If you’re considering buying from We Buy Cycle, I’d strongly recommend being aware that you may need to have the bike independently checked after purchase, particularly because the bikes aren’t test ridden before being sold. And if you do encounter an issue, don’t expect particularly friendly or empathetic customer service based on my experience.

A very disappointing experience, especially considering the amount of money spent.

I recently bought a road bike after keeping an eye on the website for a while. Paul was super helpful - answering lots of questions and helping me to get the bike that would suit me and my needs best. The whole process from start to finish has been fantastic! Delivery was extremely fast (next day) and the bike came packed extremely well. One very happy customer thanks Paul and team.

I used these guys to buy my first eMTB. I wanted to buy a Carbon frame, full suspension SL eMTB so it would be light and as close to riding a manual bike. But I also needed to buy it through a cycle to work scheme. Unfortunately due to limits set by my company on the scheme I would have never have been able to afford a new carbon framed full suspension eMTB. But then I found these guys who allowed me to forfill my wishes. The bike I purchased was a Focus Jam2 SL 8.7 and it's awesome. It's was almost like new with <300 miles on the clock. The price was very competitive, the purchase was seamless, communications excellent and the courier service which they recommended brilliant.

Extremely pleased with the ‘lightly used ‘ bike I purchased. The condition description was very accurate and the price was very reasonable. I collected the bike from the headquarters and was greeted warmly by the owner and technicians who were very helpful getting my new pride and joy set-up and on the cycle carrier for the ongoing journey to holiday to Northumberland . Bike was picked up the next day and delivered the day after that. Money was paid directly into my bank account ensuring I received the full amount of the quote. (Which was considerably more than the competitors offer).

I recently sold my e-mountain bike to WeBuyCycle, and the entire process was flawless from start to finish. Getting a quote was quick and straightforward, and the valuation they offered was fair.
Darren and Pauls' Communication was excellent throughout, and the collection was seamless with the Bike Courier they recommended. Once they received the bike, the payment was processed instantly. I have both sold and purchased a bike from WeBuyCycle and would recommend 100%. I was offered a very good price for my bike, and was able to use cyclescheme vouchers to buy another, which was amazing. The service received is first class. I would not hesitate to buy another.

I have been looking at bikes on Webuycycle for a while (liking their business model). Very good spec second hand bikes at very reasonable prices.

A Trek Domane popped up recently, a year old, fantastic spec and for half the price of a brand new one. Having reserved it with a refundable deposit I went down to the unit (only an hour away) and the bike was exactly as described on the website and in great condition. A no brainer decision…. another bike for the collection! The customer service from Paul, Darren and the team was second to none, and they even changed the saddle to one I’d bought separately. Paperwork was provided for provenance and Paul kindly sorted the Bike Register transfer too.

I would highly recommend Webuycycle, they have a great selection of bikes and will always be my first port of call for any future bike purchases.

Purchased an ex-demo bicycle from WeBuyCycle through bike to work so got a double discount. I love the bike and cannot fault the WeBuyCycle service. They are very knowledgeable and responsive. They were also able to sort an issue I had with my wheel with Zipp. Great service - when I am looking for my next bike, I will come here first.

First class experience.
I had to reluctantly sell my Bianchi road bike and contacted the chaps for an initial valuation with a view to a potential sale. A detailed offer was emailed to me with 24 hours (Jono) with full rationale backing up the figure.
After accepting, I decided to drop the bike off myself as I had other business in the area. I agreed the date with Paul.
Upon arrival, I was welcomed by Paul and can absolute validate that the setup they have is super impressive, utterly professional - solid, honest people you would not hesitate to do business with.
For those interested in the sale process, payment was made direct to my chosen accountant on the spot after a short, but thorough inspection of the bike. After a brief tour of the stock (some fantastic machines) I departed knowing I will be returning one day to purchase my next bike.

I wanted a one bike for gravel, road and light touring, but was also thinking maybe just a new road bike. Living only an hour away, and viewing a good choice of interesting bikes on the website, I decided to pay a visit.
I found many potential bikes, and met four very experienced mechanics along with Paul the owner. Pleased to say that I left with a Giant Revolt adv pro 2024 in excellent condition and saved a good £2k on new.
