Won't let you transfer domain because of their garbage website builder

I bought a domain off of them except their website builder is completely useless. They also do not allow you to transfer your domain that you paid for which should be illegal. It is a 3rd party that supplies the domain (EuroDNS) and they say it's simple to do. Wedding Wire is just a garbage company that won't let you. None of the features work on the site if you're actually able to add them on there. I wouldn't trust anything from your wedding to their buggy interface like RSVP's or the Registry's you can't even add on there. What a waste of time.

Scammed by this company.

On 06/02/2021 I was contacted by, Alli Koebbe, representing The Knot WorldWide, aka The Wedding Wire, aka The Knot in regards to advertising my wedding officiant services on their platform. During this phone call I was promised that my business would receive a minimum of 250 leads per month from brides wishing to hire an officiant. I was also promised that TKWW would use their SEO expertise to bring internet traffic to my website by means of Google. For 2 months I waited for their promises to be fulfilled. I received less than 10 leads total for 60 days and only 2 of those were real customers. The majority of my leads were robots, not real. I contacted my sales rep only to get an email reply denying she promised me the above. She said " I told you that your industry (meaning the hundreds of other wedding officiants) would receive 250 leads per year, not you solely and not monthly. She ignored my complaint about the Google lack of traffic. I was scammed and lied to by this company in order to get me to agree to a contract. This company knows they cannot live up to their claims/lies so they force you into a contract in order to become a customer. Have filed a BBB complaint as well.

Once your in, they won't let you go.

Yea Soo, im having a similar experience as a lot o people it would seem, once you sign in they will NEVER let you leave paid or unpaid, unless you go OUT of BUSINESS and can PROOVE to them that your no longer in business they will refuse to let you turn off your account. Please be 100% sure cause there is no turning back.. its insane.

I wrote in: Could you actually point out where it says unpaid accounts can’t deactivate there accounts? Cause from what I just read, it doesn’t mention anything about being locked into the account, only mentions You hereby acknowledge that your posts may be indexed by search engines. If you choose to suspend or delete your account, your content will remain.

What’s going on here guys?

I don't know about you, but that does not make it clear that you as a business owner will not have the right or ability to leave or suspend, or do anything with your account. Unless you prove that your business no longer participates in weddings.

The website is glitchy af and customer service bots are useless

The website is glitchy af. I tried to edit the group titles in the guestlist, but I would click save and it would look like I had made changes but the next day it would revert back to the default titles. So organizing the guestlist was not even possible. It was really hard to figure out how to use the guestlist at all. I hate that all guests can see all events which leaves me with the option of only showing the main event (the wedding) or including all the events like the shower and rehearsal so that people who are not invited to those events can just decide to show up anyway. And the one that really made me cry was the registry. I spent two sleepless weeks researching and adding all the gear we needed for our honeymoon to our REI wedding registry. Today I tried to link the registry and it simply would not work. No URL on earth would link my registry to my website. So after wasting about 6 hours struggling with these websites, calling support and reading all the help guides and FAQs I end up with a hyperlink in the description box at the top of the registry page. Really??? REI is listed as a retailer on your website but it won't link properly so now I have some tacky hyperlink that you can hardly see. I have 80 guests invited and they're gonna log onto my website and see a big fat target logo on the registry page and find 9 stupid gifts that i don't really need but what the heck, it's a wedding. and the stuff that I really do need is hidden in a pale little link in the description box that nobody will even read. WORSE WEBSITE EVER! I can't tell you if this is better or worse than the competitors because this is my first wedding and if I ever get married again it will be at the courthouse. Your website it glitchy and your customer service bots are useless.

I have had a TERRIBLE experience…

I have had a TERRIBLE experience working with them. If you are not a photographer this is not the site for you and DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THEM! You will not get your money's worth. I have asked them over and over to cancel the contract and they refused. I already don't make a ton on weddings and to have booked so few weddings is ridiculous for the amount you pay monthly! I would give them zero stars if I could!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM

One of the worst experiences I've ever had in my life. Signed up for a pro account for my photography business but didn't realize I couldn't cancel so I got stuck paying $119 a month for a whole year. At the end of the year, I've tried calling a hundred times, left 99 messages and sent 98 emails requesting a phone call so I could cancel and not get billed after the year and no one will answer or call back or respond to email. They are a scam and on top of all of this, i got zero LEADS the entire year. I got plenty of emails/and/or fake leads but they were obviously generated by bots. Now I'm thinking about going to small claims to get my money back.

My wife and I used wedding wire to help us plan our wedding back in 2019. They made it extremely easy to find all of the vendors that we needed and kept us very organized throughout the process. The checklists came in handy so we could stay on schedule with our planning.

As a Wedding Professional The Knot and WeddingWire have helped increase my exposure on the web. I'm almost through a full year and it's been a success so far for collecting reviews and featuring myself on a platform that couples actively use to plan their wedding. As a custom stationery designer, my business isn't a "necessary" service for a wedding so I would say the traffic I get is good! Highly recommend this platform for advertising.

They are actually trash to their vendors. Have no concerns for how they are doing or whether or no their service is actually helping. DO NOT USE as a potential couple OR AS A VENDOR. They will drain the life out of you.

The only kind and friendly person you will talk to is the person selling the service to you after that it’s is a bunch of grumpy people who just tell you that you did sign a contract and not give you any help.

If I could give this company 0 stars, I would. As a vendor, I was promised many leads, however that proved to be inaccurate. I received so many fake leads and no replies from the fake brides. The account rep was no help. We asked to cancel our contract based on the fact that we hadn’t received 1 single booking. As a company, we had many customers book based on word of mouth. Our work and quality was great but with our gold level profile, we couldn’t book 1 single bride in an entire year. This company is a scam. Vendors beware and do not give this company your money!!

WeddingWire was great a few years ago.... but

WeddingWire was great a few years ago, they seemed to really care about the vendors paying them for exposure. However, recently they have become very harassing and very pushy. They only seem to reach out to you at the end of the month as a “courtesy check-in” But it’s so obvious they are only reaching out to see if they can get money out of you. Anyone that has worked in any sales type of business knows this is the case for anyone selling any type of product.

They literally offer you nothing but exposure. I will disclose that I was paying $5700 a year for a gold listing with WeddingWire and all you’re getting is exposure. That’s it.

I really don’t like that they have become a discounted version of themselves, they have become a quick and easy one-click shop for wedding vendors. We as wedding vendors know that this is not at all how it should be, especially when couples are spending thousands sometimes more on their wedding. I noticed this when after some time all I was receiving was the same automated email template over and over again, nothing organically typed out. Not only that, I started to see fewer and fewer responses. And remember I paid for the gold listing, I was always on page 1. My guess is that the price didn't match and they're on to someone else with a better price. (don't get me wrong, pricing is everything, but pricing has become the name of the game thanks to WeddingWire) So I was paying more, getting way more emails but much much fewer responses. I also notice that clients are using the easiness of being able to find vendors on WeddingWire as a way to discount shop. So basically WeddingWire has put all its vendors in a bargain bin and couples can just keep hitting one click send emails till they find the price they like. I actually found that NOT buying any membership with WeddingWire worked out better. I found genuinely interesting couples and I get a response to almost all my emails.

I have brought these issues up with WeddingWire and the person who usually helps me. Their response was very upsetting, they double down on how much exposure you’ll get and that you’ll be on the first page of google. Not only that they keep reminding me of the hundreds of millions of dollars they are spending on SEO. Okay... SEO for WeddingWire? Or SEO to help couples find great wedding vendors?

I think WeddingWire has become a money-making machine. That’s good for their customers but not good for the people paying for their services. It’s a classic bait and switch. They dangle the possibility of getting in front of tons of potential couples but at the same time making it easier and easier for couples to bargain shop. I mean how many of us as wedding vendors have gone on a whim and booked someone without meeting them only for it to become a nightmare... ya we have all been there.

I found the old-fashioned way has made a comeback, talk to your couples, become friends with them!! You're spending one of the most important days of their lives with them. Not only that, some wedding vendors will spend almost the entire day right alongside the couple. You want to feel like the only reason you're there is because they got you at a discount(comparatively) ?? Ya, no thanks...

They take advantage of small businesses and their kindness while using "the bride" as an excuse!

When I first signed up for The Knot and Weddingwire, they had people on the phone, able to schedule, answer my calls, and they were really great about communication.

Now I've tried calling because of circumstances I can't control and not being able to offer wedding services anymore and no one is able to pick up? When I was considering they sat and broke it down for me, showed me powerpoints, and PROMISED that I would book weddings as a photographer and they even broke down that a few weddings would cover the costs but now it's been 6 months and I never booked a single session. They told me that THEY WERE DIFFERENT because the people that view their website are REAL and WANT TO BOOK VENDORS. But let me tell you- they're all SCAM inquiries or bargain shoppers that want cheap services. The majority of the inquiries I've had aren't even real and the ones that are real the people ghost me.

They tell you that you need to sign a year-long contract so you can "be there for the brides." I'm sorry but that's how they take advantage of you.

DO NOT give this company any of your bank account information, money, or personal information. They aren't here to help you- they're here to take your money even if you don't have anything left to give. The moment you get signed up the great customer service and ability to reach them will suddenly be gone! They won't take your calls anymore even when they promised they would be able to help. They don't care about you or the brides. They want to lock you in for the year with a contract so even when you're not offering wedding services anymore, when you're no longer operating your business, or when you don't have any more money, they'll overdraft your bank account and take everything from you that they can because of the contract. And you won't get anything that you paid for from them- don't trust them. It's not worth it- I wish I would have looked here before booking with them.
At the time I thought my finances would be more stable and I told them that I'm a college student and that I really just wanted to be there for the brides.
They told me that if I signed up for the year they'd give me a "special discount" of $130/month for 12 months. I'm 22 and married and because of COVID I don't have a job! And even though I told them all of this, they assured me that it would work out. Well, it didn't. I've paid half now and NOTHING. I've gotten NOTHING. I've paid HUNDREDS of dollars to be able to help brides and everyone that goes on The Knot or WeddingWire in my area wants a cheap photographer.

Don't trust this company! They take advantage of small businesses and their kindness while using "the bride" as an excuse!

Unethical Business

Please save yourself and DO NOT sign up with this scam of a business. Their sales rep called me and presented a presentation with thousands of numbers and promised me to connect me with 24 couples. When I confronted them with what their sale rep said, they told me it's my fault I didn't get it down on paper and my contract will not be canceled. Do not reply to me with the same default reply about the one year contract. The point is your employee is an unethical rep that talked on your behalf.

Do not get roped into this mess as a vendor!

I got roped into this scam of a business model at the end of 2019. I was given false information about the 'contract' that was hidden from me until after I 'signed.' If you are a vendor, do NOT sign up for this. I'm a photographer, and got many fake leads or was ghosted. Covid hit and I talked to my 'account rep' at the time who told me that they know times are hard (June 2020) and they were making exceptions. She still wouldn't let me cx my contract, but told me that if I didn't pay, my account would go delinquent and it would eventually time out with promise that I wouldn't be sent to an outside collection agency. I thought I was in the clear until last week when I got a threatening email from Chris (in house collections team) saying I had to pay up or I was going to be sent to collections. I talked to a billing manager on the phone today and long story short she told me she could write it off, but she wasn't going to and she'd make sure everybody I talked to from here on out would have the same story. Talk about a threat and horrible customer service. I paid up until covid hit, and based off the instruction I was given by their team member, my story has stayed the same. Very disappointed in this company and will never use them again.

They will steal your money and send you fake leads

I called them inquiring about their services and rates. They started raiding my phone after I asked them many times to give me a few months to think about it as my business is new. They kept calling with some excuse or another and kept bothering me to sign up with them for approximately $150/mth but caving and saying ok, it was $195/mth. I said that it is too much and I cannot afford, would you know it... they persisted till I signed up with them.

After a few weeks we fell into serious financial problem and emailed and repeatedly asked if I could cancel as these are hard times and I really cannot afford them anymore, I even told them I have a 2 year old to take care of. I am not even conducting my business anymore due to our financial problems. The same person who wouldn't stop raiding my phone is now unreachable after weeks of contacting her. The whole time (so far 5 months) I had their service, I only got one real lead and the rest were fake. I know they're fake because all the leads were in the exact same format with just a few words replaced, and when you reply, it's someone trying to scam me by offering to send ridiculous amounts of check and trying to get me mail the surcharge to them (about 2/10).... ya ook!! or just a ghost (about 7/10). I thought there was an automated format for people to use to reach out to vendors but there isn't... just a format for this company's "Fake Lead Department" to use regularly! Spoke to many people and all agree with their experience of fake leads and scammers from this company. They are definitely involved in illegal activities! I wish I can afford a lawyer to hire and investigate in these unethical practices!

Now after a few months of being ignored by them I had to report my card lost when I did, and after one missed payment.... they started raiding my phone again and my email! Now they force charged my bank account somehow even after reporting the card I provided them as stolen.... how is that even possible?! Now amidst COVID pandemic and unemployment, I have a NEGATIVE bank balance with a toddler to look after!!!! They are very unethical company with blatantly ignorant illegal activities!

If some lawyer sees this and would like to sue them, I would like to get involved. I am in an extremely difficult situation with a baby in our home because of this company, and all of our struggles seem to be a big joke for these criminals!

UPDATE: Their "pre-formatted templates to use" does not match the words used by fake leads that are occupying my inbox, I checked their website from a client's side. Blatant lies!

Truly a horrible experience with…

Truly a horrible experience with wedding wire canada.
Even as a vendor it is nothing but a money grab place where they trick you to continue contract which is sad.
If you are a vendor, don't bother , just boost your Instagram, you will be fine

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. I paid over $80 a month to advertise on wedding wire. I was not getting any leads so I emailed customer service to get help and got no response. The second time I emailed them for support I got suggestions that were so basic and things I was already doing.
Do not waste your money with them!
