We are first time buyers and had a level 3 survey completed recently. The house is an old miners cottage built around 1850s and so we knew we had to get a detailed report. Matt Pilkington was our surveyor and completed a very thorough, in-depth survey which has been incredibly valuable in aiding our process. We are incredibly grateful for this and would definitely recommend this company to anyone!

Matt Pilkington carried out a house survey for us and was exceptionally professional, thorough, detail-oriented, and helpful throughout the process. We found West Country Surveyors through a comparison site, gave them a call, and Matt organised and carried out our survey in a very short time frame. Matt was thorough and professional - his attention to detail and level of knowledge was beyond the bare minimum needed for a RICS Level 3, and the comments and phone call afterwards were extremely useful. Took the time to explain everything throughly after the report to cut through the jargon and give me a informed opinion of the next steps required before purchasing the property. David did our survey and report for us and we were kept updated with the plan regularly. He kindly rang us after he had done the survey to let us know a summary and he produced the report the next day! He included so much detail, which will be super helpful for us. He was very patient and polite on the phone, happily answered all our questions and made really helpful suggestions for what was needed going forwards. He was available after the report and happy to answer any questions. There was also loads of detailed photos included, which are super helpful. Would definitely recommend them for a genuine, detailed and helpful survey and super service!

After the survey I received a phone call from David where the main points were clearly explained with plenty of opportunity to ask questions, and soon after received a written report with an amazing amount of detail and care put in to it. From the very start the communication was very fast, friendly and very helpful. Being first time buyers it was laid out so clearly to aid us in understanding the process as a whole.
We had Erica Bond complete the survey of our proposed new home. Every aspect of what Erica has done for us has been absolutely brilliant. The report was incredibly thorough and left no stone unturned. She outlined possible issues or things that would need some care and attention whilst still keeping a fair and balanced outlook on reality due to its very old age which helped us move forward with the purchase with the best possible knowledge, understanding and to be fully prepared!

Matt Pilkington completed my survey and I was very pleased with it. I had a detailed report and it was very thorough. I had a call soon after to talk through the main points and then a full report a few days later. They had a cancellation so I was able to have the survey done very fast. Due to issues with buying, I dealt with them 3 times and they were always helpful and professional, with competitive pricing. I want to also mention Hannah, she was always so kind and helpful when I had to delay and she's a credit to the company. Highly recommended!

Very nice to deal with, responsive and professional and assisted on a couple of tight deadlines. We had instructed them to act on a purchase last year but that fell through so was good to be able to instruct them this time round! We needed a Level 3 Survey and, out of the blue, a Reinstatement valuation for the insurers and all dealt with on an expedited basis. Would happily recommend! Thank you!

I was extremely impressed with the service I received from Erica Bond. I was provided a detailed and thorough report that clearly highlighted key findings, including potential and urgent issues, which ultimately gave me a fuller understanding of the concerns I had initially. She was honest and I appreciated her deep insight into the property. She was extremely professional, attentive, and generous with her time, carefully talking through every concern I had in a thoughtful and easy-to-understand way. I was very pleased with the overall service and would highly recommend her to anyone needing a property survey.

The first contact at West Country Surveyors Ltd was friendly and helpful. The actual surveyor, Matthew Pilkington , was very helpful - giving an in depth verbal report on request when the report he had completed was delayed in the WCS LTD system. The wait of 3 weeks for the survey to take place was inconvenient, but the price was OK .
