Be very wary of cancellation fees!
We booked a cottage and a couple of days later had to cancel it due to my husband's work. We were 3 months out from our scheduled stay and they have kept our whole £225 deposit which I think is appalling. Read the T&Cs very carefully as WWHC charge you a cancellation fee and the holiday cottage owner also charges you their own cancellation fee. We are absolutely gutted, this is a lot of money for us.

We are sorry to hear that you had to cancel your holiday due to a change in your husband's work commitments, and we appreciate how disappointing this must have been.
Our Terms and Conditions, including our cancellation policy, are clearly available on our website, and all customers are required to confirm that they have read and accepted these terms before completing a booking. As outlined in the policy, the deposit paid at the time of booking is non-refundable in the event of a cancellation.
We understand that cancellations can be frustrating, particularly when they arise from circumstances beyond your control. In an effort to assist, the owner offered the option to transfer your booking to alternative dates; however, unfortunately, this also wasn't suitable for you. In addition, as a gesture of goodwill, the owner agreed to refund a portion of the deposit, despite there being no obligation to do so under the booking terms.
While we appreciate your disappointment, we hope you can understand that both we and the owner made every reasonable effort to offer flexibility and assistance following your cancellation, beyond what was required under the Terms and Conditions agreed to at the time of booking.

St Clears, Carmarthenshire
After looking at several properties we picked The Granary in St Cleares. Lovely reviews and not too far away from coast and cosy looking. Easy to book with clicking on your dates. Another trip to wales in another area. Nice to look forward to.

Selecting and booking a property was very easy
Searching for the dates and area on the website was really easy. Being able to shortlist properties to share with my husband who selected the property he liked was really helpful. The booking process was very easy right through to payment.
