I went to Altimus on 7th Feb 2026 as they are a listed retailer for Altberg boots. I knew I should get my feet measured as well. I never even got to see the selection of boots because the sales chap, Billy Gordine, a 'biomechanics consultant' spent ages measuring and commenting on my 'interesting and unusual' feet and recommending some insoles by 'Foot-Map' costing £1995. I almost went for it. I'm glad I decided to think about it. I checked the reviews for the shop and I am grateful for the entries by other people who experienced the same hard sell method for these insoles. A few weeks later I went to another listed retailer who measured my feet and sold me some Altbergs which are a fab fit. It seems to be that Altimus do not represent the northern honesty that is a hallmark of Altberg.

Agreed with everyone below, very annoying hard sales pitch. Trying to worry you that there’s something wrong with your feet to extract more money which is quite laughable but also ruins the experience. I was pitched a 2k custom insole and a £195 off the shelf insole.

I have ordered a bogner helmet. The one I received was obviously used for display and some accessories were missing. I contacted customer service and as it was a last item, they were able to offer me some discount. Overall pleased with the service. I was dealing with Kriti. She was friendly, helpful and polite.
Over the past few years, I have been suffering from severe foot and knee pain. Over this period, I have tried multiple different approaches such as physio and even shock therapy, and although these methods have helped in reducing the pain short term, it doesn’t last.
I initially went into Altimus to look for a pair of supportive shoes for my pain, I was welcomed very warmly by the staff and ended up speaking with an amazing member of staff called Harvin!
Harvin took the time and listened to me while I discussed all of my problems which allowed him to pick the perfect shoe for my feet! However, not only did he take the time to pick the perfect shoe, he also offered a free analysis of my feet!
He then informed me he was knowledgeable in all things feet, and ran some very thorough tests to figure out the issue! After discussing the cause of my pain, he discussed multiple options with me, going over the pros and cons of each. We finally landed on a pair of bespoke customised 3D orthotics. Unlike other companies that use treadmills, sand or gel, which measure the foot in the incorrect position, the clinic in Altimus use a laser which gives a much more precise scan once my feet were placed in the correct position!
Although the price of these are somewhat expensive, the price also includes a lifetime amount of re-adjustments and assessments of the orthotics, as well as access to the qualified staff and the absolute amazing service which is why I believe they are worth every penny!
Three months in and I have felt a significant reduction in my pains for such a short period of time! I have my first free reassessment booked for 3 months’ time, and I am super excited to go back and progress my treatment plan even further! I am so glad I found Altimus, I can’t praise them enough!
I went to the store to purchase a pair of Altberg Fremington boots. I wanted to try them on to get the correct width and size. A very helpful member of staff immediately said he would get me the best possible boots for my feet. After measuring my feet he then did some 'tests' which he said showed i had hype mobility in my heel and needed orthotics. He then explained about how essential they were and that the 3 d computer scanned ones would over time improve my foot problem. He was very convincing but when he said they cost nearly £2000 I said i could not afford them. He then produced an orthotic which he said would stop the problem getting worse. I was totally taken in by this and paid £195 for the orthotic. The next day I looked online for reviews of these Footmap orthotics. I was horrified to find reviews saying others had been conned into buying these £195 orthotics for conditions which a professional podiatrist said were non existent. I visited a professional podiatrist who said i had no hypermobility and they were totally unnecessary. Furthermore when I showed him the Footmap orthotics he said they should cost no more than £20, and that there was nothing special about them.
The only good thing about Altimus's service was that i returned them within 10 days and I was given a full refund on the orthotics.

I was hesitant on leaving a review as I thought will it even make a difference, considering there have been a few reviews before this on the same matter & nothing seems to have changed.
This review is to highlight to Altimus that, 1. more of a customer service response awarness training is to be had, and 2. hard pitching on something that was not intended on time of purchase just puts a horrible taste in people's mouths.
Positives: 1. welcoming security and staff. 2. 10/10 for hard sales pitch. 3. Ease of refund.
Negatives: unfortunately there were a few.
I contacted them early May regarding ski boot canting (I was well aware ski season was over and that my boots are over 15 years old/old model so I wasn't expecting a full refurb or anything). I went into the store with my ski boots and was seen by Jay Chaggar (FootMap) - extremely personable, explained the foot anatomy well, what my "foot was doing when stepping", overall great customer service.
It turns out a fair few people (as per the various reviews I've since read) were subjected to the same free foot assessment and statement of "you have interesting feet", "buy these unique (£195) insoles" pitch. Thankfully I wasn't hard pitched on the £2000 foot analysis/foot mould for insoles, and just informed about it. I however was initially interested and sent him an email asking for the full brochure as we had discussed - I didn't receive a response. Maybe it was for the better.
Long story short, I walked out with a new pair of trainers and insoles but barely any information regarding canting my boots - which was my sole reason for visiting the store. I was told regarding canting a few things ; "you can just use an Allen Key when next in them", "place the FootMap insoles inside and that could correct the issue", and "you need to have the heels replaced". I thought "ok, I sat through all that for this simple information, but ok, that's doable". Pictures were taken of my boots and i parted with an additional £34.90 (£34.99 was on the order email) as this was to cover the new pair of replacement heels and P&P.
Fast forward to early August and I genuinely feel if I hadn't called thrice and sent a couple of emails between the start of June and now, I'd still be waiting for an update.
I went into the store to get my refund (due to the payment card used), and was told - by who I assume was the store manager - that unfortunately the replacements were old (as had been explained in 1 previous email after i initially made the purchase), and that I was supposed to have had an email sent to me 2 weeks back advising replacement heels could not be found. This email obviously was never received - which i was apologised to for.
I had from a month prior decided to try and source the heels elsewhere and was successful in receiving them in under 2 weeks. Ebay.
2 days prior, I sent an email with pictures to their next door neighbour (Ellis Brigham) out of curiosity of what I'll be told regarding re heeling/canting of the old ski boots. After my refund today at Altimus, I popped into the Ellis Brigham and I had a completely different experience. The member of staff gave me honest information about my boot, the difficulty in finding replacement heels for my boot (due to the age), advised on max length of time/best season to ski in due to the old plastic of the boot, stated a company I could try that however stock older model items, that Ebay may likely have them, the pros and cons of Allen key canting, potentially new moulds and recommendation of new boots/new technology I should research if I'm looking to purchase in the new ski season.
THIS was the information that I now know i should have received in May from Altimus.
Altimus, please stop these hard pitch for insoles that clearly are NOT unique because how can soo many people with different foot types have a temporary solution from one insole type? I have yet to find a review on them also. Secondly, if you don't have anyone that can accurately provide information on ski boots, just be honest and upfront. There's no harm in not getting a sale if you're honest. Yes, I had the free will to say no, however, my biggest gripe has been your appalling communication, updating and now realising I wasn't really given great/in-depth information on what I initially went to your store for. If I had been contacted even 2-3 weeks after my in-store purchase and told you've been unsuccessful in sourcing despite the promise in-store, I would've completely understood and not written this essay of a review. The fact I had to do all the chasing and always left my full name, contact number, email and order number, but all I received was an apology followed by radio silence before I had to chase again just has left a bad taste in my mouth.
Another fantastic experience. Had a slight issue with my purchase and everyone was extremely helpful and patient during the process.
Special thank you for Krithi in the office, the owner in the shop and the young Romanian sales representative in the shop who was very professional and helped me find the perfect replacement of an ON shoes on Saturday the 19th of July.
This shop only supply high quality products and understandably the prices will be higher than average outdoor retail shops but believe me it is 100% worth the visit to this store on Kensington high street if you need any sports gear.
Thank you again Guys and definitely will be back for my next shopping trip
I went in to Altimus last week because they were a stockist for the particular boots I was after and I wanted to try them on. Like other reviews here concerning footwear I was given the hard sell on custom-made orthotics at around £2,000 or else, phew, a more affordable set at a mere £195.
Having been a bit bamboozled by the long foot examination (complete with statements about how interesting my feet were) I left the shop with a set of orthotics and a pair of boots on order. I then found these reviews on Trustpilot and felt I too had been scammed.
I tried the orthotics in my existing boots but found I couldn't then do them up properly; this despite being told they would work in all shoes (except 'dress', which I think covers most streetwear shoes). So I steeled myself for a tedious conversation in trying to get a refund for the orthotics.
Actually, Altimus couldn't have behaved better. They said I could get a refund within the next 10 days. I took the orthotics in this morning and was immediately given the promised refund, no quibbles or questions.
They also had the boots in that I'd been waiting for. These proved to be a good fit so I left wearing them.
It's a shame Altimus let themselves down with the orthotics side of their business. I've looked around a bit since and find standard orthotics at £20 or so; custom ones start at around £400. So the quoted prices at Altimus are way too high and the sales techniques are questionable - my set were, like another reviewer's, slipped into my bag at the end of the hour long session.
On the plus side, they did a good job of determining the right size boot and getting it in for me to try. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. And I ended up with what I believe to be a great pair of boots.
Very bad company to deal with I bought a very expensive coat only had it a few weeks until I noticed fault on the arm so I asked if I could have a replacement as I really liked coat and when they got the coat they wouldn’t accept as a fault which clearly was. Wouldn’t buy from this company again and I would warn others not to buy coz you will get nowere with these and they’ve had my coat over 3months aswell very bad company I would urge people stay clear
Scam tactics in trying to sell me £2000 orthopaedic insoles for new Altbergs or some off the shelf ones for £200. Just embarrassing really and when you read Altbergs buff they recommend their own for around £30 which i wasn’t offered. The sale person uses a demonstration just like Altbergs web site video to show why you need them.
I needed a fitting for new Altberg boots, and given that I am the wrong side of 50 I have bought numerous pairs of shoes and boots in my life.
At Altimus this simple process took over two hours in which I was subjected to a reasonably sophisticated and entirely relentless sales technique. Wanting the boots and being a polite person meant I had few ways of avoiding the attack. I was, of course, special; my needs rare; my views on the world hilarious. The answer: either a £2,000 course to correct my feet, or £200 insoles. I was still smilingly saying no when I eventually got to the till. Another customer there was being similarly bombarded but, looking far wealthier than I and probably worrying more for her time, was handing over the credit card with indifference. When my sale was rung up, the rejected insoles were still inserted and therefore added. Too polite to throw the boots at the cashier, and too much in need of them anyway, I asked for the insoles to be removed and the charge adjusted.
I briefly wondered if this now meant that I would not receive any of the aftercare they had discussed. Silly (but briefly hilarious) me, I've never heard from them again.
I ordered a climbing harness. They sent me it and luckily I checked the year of manufacture. It was made 11 years ago. The climbing brand Mammut state on their safety leaflet their harnesses should not be used if more than 10 years old. My life would have been at risk in using it had I not checked this. They refunded me but the vibe I got on the phone was that they didn't understand the seriousness of this.

I went into the store to buy some hiking boots. All very smiley service and was referred to their equally friendly "foot health specialist" who tried to sell me a pair of custom insoles for £1950 or the off the shelf version for £200.
I checked with a podiatrist who was doubtful whether I needed any insoles at all and said that the most I should pay for top of the range custom insoles is £400 or off the shelf for £15.
I recently went into Altimus to look for some trainers that might help with the pain I was getting on the top of my feet. I couldn't be more satisfied with my experience. From the moment I walked in I was greeted by pleasant and member of staff who referred me to their extremely knowledgeable inhouse expert. She took the time to analyse my feet and came up with some recommendations of shoes which would be better for my feet. Unfortunately, they didn’t have the colour I wanted but they ordered them in for me. I collected them last week and after having walked in them for the past few days, my pain has reduced significantly and I have a spring in my step! All I can say is Altimus are my new go to shoe shop. I would highly recommend them for anyone who wants a five star experience!
I have been suffering with foot problems for the past couple of years and tried several medical remedies, physio, etc. I went to Altimus about a year ago and was persuaded that the sophisticated insoles they were offering for a bargain of £1,895 were going to help me. The examination and diagnosis was quite professional and I definitely feel for it. I had been trying so many ways to find a solution to this problem that I was prepared to anything to resolve it. Then I was offered to buy a second pair for office shoes (shorter and not squeezing the feet into the leather shoes). I only saw the price when I went to pay. Rather than a small top-up, it was £1,895 again. I was beaten mentally by my constant pain and paid. Six months later my problems were still there. I went back, they checked them and re-did them for free.
Another six months I go visit a podiatrist at the Cromwell hospital. I showed her the orthotics and she was puzzled by their shape. I had 2 new pairs done there at a £1,240 in total and whilst some pain on one foot is still there, they addressed the problem better to the other foot. Also, I got advice the use of some AFOs on my right leg to help with a bigger problem completely undiagnosed by the person at Altimus. I feel embarrassed for having fallen for such a scam, because this was nothing else other than that but I decided to come out let everyone know because these guys deserve to be taken down.

Went in to buy a new pair of trainers as was feeling a bit down after an operation. I was greeted very nicely and told I could have my feet looked at for any possible problems. Amazingly I had interesting feet and multiple issues and needed this dealing with urgently. I parted with £195 for a set of insoles that I should wear in every pair of shoes. Was not given any packaging just what look like off the shelf insoles that I could get from anywhere. After 2 weeks use I called the store as all of my shoes started smelling really bad. Never had this problem before. When I called and explained I was told to wipe them with baby wipes and go and see the salesman when he is working next. Went to the store and was only told they have never heard of this before and cannot do anything. Offered a £6 shoe deodorant and told not to worry as I still should take the £1600 treatment and they will look after me on the price. As a retail manager myself I was always taught to retain a customer look after them when they have a complaint. Instead here it is sorry about your problem, I have charged you and given you another but there is nothing we can do about it. Under no circumstances would I return here and urge people go for what you originally wanted and do not get talked into more problems.

Great customer service, prices are competitive and the quality excellent. I really recommend this place I will buy again. Thank you
I was after a pair of comfortable shoes for walking whilst on holiday . Raheem looked after me , he checked the size of my feet and then found a pair of Mizuno running shoes. I'm 2 weeks after purchase and can say that they are super comfortable , supportive and I am delighted with them .
I was purchasing boots from Altimus and they offered a free consultation to look at my feet as I apparently had “fallen arches”. They took me to a gnarly little room at the back of the shop to “scan” my feet and confirm my “diagnosis” but that I could purchase a special orthotic device from them that would stop me from getting back problems; usual one-time-only-deal pressure tactics and I parted with nearly £1000.
I spoke with my GP at the time and there was apparently nothing wrong with my feet; this was just a scam.
However I was unable to do anything about this as the company would not refund anything and shortly after I started enquiring to recover my funds the company - or at least that particular company - went into administration. Another company at the same address however, with almost exactly the same name, has seemingly appeared. Same people. Nevertheless I was unable to recover any funds as apparently there were no assets of value once creditors had been paid.
These guys do not deserve your custom. Avoid at all costs.
Hey there,
I would like to share my experience of a recent purchase at Altimus. Yeah! I newly bought an Asics Womens Court FF 2 Tennis Shoe for my personal training and on-court purpose too. And, it suits my need perfectly and asks my toes to get entered once and once again. Its flexibility, durability, and comfort make it my all-time favorite. Stylish is also a factor that it didn't miss out on. In short, Asics Womens Court FF 2 Tennis Shoe at Altimus outdoor is worth my money.
