Dishonest “advertisements” should be a warning
I came on TrustPilot to look at Andersen Corporation’s rating after getting unsolicited mail from them that was deceptively designed to look like a notice of something needing to be addressed quickly. I’m not too surprised that a company that uses trickery as a model to try and obtain business is poorly rated and has complaints about dishonest business practices and shoddy work also.
Really good warranty
I installed my sliding patio doors in 2017 and through MY mistake in giving them the wrong information, it looked like they were not under warranty, even though it turns out in the end they were under the 10 year warranty. My doors have built-in blinds between the glass panes. The problem was that the mechanism to raise the blinds was failing. At first they diagnosed the problem and said I needed a part that counting tax and shipping was $50. The part was a 3 inch piece of plastic which I could have printed on my 3D printer for $0.15. It also was not the solution to my problem. Once I figured out that I was actually under warranty, and proved with a video link that the mechanism was failing, they were happy to to send me a new door for free. They also issued a full refund on the $50 part. Their customer service people are really friendly, and they really stand behind their warranty, but after 10 years, expect to pay an absurd amount for repair parts. If it wasn't for the $50 price tag on a 3 inch piece of plastic, I would have given them 5*s.
I have a new home that has Anderson…400 series windows
I have a new home that has Anderson Series 400 windows. The finish is black. Within 6 months the sills started to blister and discolor due to sun exposure. A representative came and inspected the damage. He claimed that it was due to the installation of the masonry and another representative said it was due to chemical wash. The brick was not cleaned with any chemicals. I was in the construction industry for 40 years and served as a vice president of a commercial and industrial contractor. It is far too commonplace for a company to blame installation prior to making a logical analysis. The seal obviously wasn’t manufactured to endure the heat generated by the sun. Producing a durable product which can provide years of service is the manufactures responsibility. Not the end consumer. They refuse to take that responsibility and even worse, they won’t communicate. I have experienced horrendous customer service from Anderson. Probably the worst I’ve seen in my 40 plus years in the industry. That is saying a lot.
6 months, job still not complete due to poor quality
The job started back in April 2024, it is still not complete, mid-October, 2024. The product, (touted as top-quality), was full of defects, and exhibited poorly fitted, over/undersized parts, some forced into place, incorrect size windows were delivered also.
An attempt at remediation by their 5 man (wrecking) crew left a wake of damage to previously good parts, and removal of defective parts, only to be replaced with the part they had removed!
I'm weary of their unresponsive representative, as well as living with black trash bag window coverings, and furniture covered in drop cloths.
Run away, as fast as you can from this manufacturer's product.
IMHO, they are breathing the last breaths of a former "industry leader", relying on past quality, previously earned customer loyalty and relationships to the region, while they churn out sub-par, at best middling quality windows at a premium price!
It's like paying for a Bentley, and getting a Yugo!
Lack of integrity
When the rep. came to our home to give us a quote on the windows we needed replaced he said we had 72 hours to end the contract. After considering the exorbitant amount for the cost of windows we reached out to the rep to cancel and he avoided our calls. When we tried the main number to Andersen they said we needed to speak with him directly. We were not able to cancel the contract and ended up paying $6K for two standard size bedroom windows.
We are now going with another company, for our other windows, that offers the same quality at a fraction of the cost. We'll be paying on the Andersen windows for a long time and it is very frustrating.
Also, the installers did not do a professional job and the trim on the windows was poorly done. When we approached the installer about it he basically said it wasn't their issue.
Door arrived damaged
Door arrived damaged. Tried calling he "support" number but no one spoke clear english. tried to explain that the door was damage and needed a new one sent. The repstated that they could not hear me and to repeat my name and number. I obliged and again, the rep stated they could not hear me yet everything I said outside of the claim was CLEARLY heard and replied to. It appears that Anderson has outsourced its "SUPPORT" to avoid claims and/or support. Now I have to pay a legal fee to get a new door or my money back. What a buch of BS. Will go back to Larson as I had no issues with them. If you have not purchased yet, GO BUY LARSON and avoid Anderson at all costs. Of course, unless you want hours of being on the phone to only be ignored and out of your money. Details can be provided to substantiate this review upon request. I bought a storm door and the…
I bought a storm door and the instructions for right and left hand doors are intermingled and not clear at all as to which is which. The quality of the door is just as shoddy as their windows while somehow being even more expensive. I would recommend you go and buy from a more reputable brand and save yourself the extra cost and headache that dealing with this terrible company brings.
Andersen storm door
Ever since I got the Andersen storm door installed January 13 2023
By spring problems started.
1. Lock mechanism loose
Frequent calls 1nd complaints to place of purchase Home Depot resulted in lukewarm assistance and installation person kept ignoring what I said about difficulty opening door.
2. Before long door did not open at all. I could neithzr get in or out of the house.
I feared that I would have to call the fire department. One Year Warranty expired with Home Depot and 10 Year Warranty with Andersen still valid.
3. After numerous and frantic attemps to contact Andersen for help a responder assisted by telephone how to remove mechanism of door lock. Sent new mechanism but not installed.
4. However door continued to not open
Frame jams in cold and heat.
Have resort to using tool to pry door open and kick it!
5. Very unsafe conditions. Door visibly broken is invitation for intruders. Have keep a small towel to prevent door from fully closing.
Safety matter in case of fire etc.
6. Andersen not responding to malfunctioning door.. require new door.
7. In crisis.
8. Never recommend Andersen door to anyone.
Nighmare situation still going on.
The worst cheap soon to be defective…
The worst cheap soon to be defective products you will ever spend good money on. After the window or door falls apart, call Anderson and you will get TERRIBLE customer service. Recently a local tv station did a story on my experience buying Anderson junk garbage products and I was told it will be picked up by national outlet. I hope so, then more people will know their false adds are full of lies, Anderson is junk.
Our worst nightmare!
We first met the Andersen Windows salesperson in August 2023. He was nice, professional, and knowledgeable about the products. After reviewing his proposal, we felt the estimate to replace the windows in our home was way overpriced, but we agreed that we needed at least 2 picture windows where most of the sun's rays came into our home. We agreed to replace 2 custom windows, and they were to be installed on January 8, 2024... almost 5 months after we met with the salesperson! The installers came on Jan. 8th, opened our new windows (they were very large), for the front of our home, and 1 of the windows was the WRONG DESIGN!! After all the months of waiting, one window was the wrong one! We couldn't believe our eyes! So, back to the factory it went! The next installation dates were April 17th - 18th. What a DISASTER!! In a nutshell, here is what happened! The two old windows "exploded" when they were removed by the workers who were sent to our home! The explosion set off the "smoke detectors" in our entire home! The glass damaged our HARDWOOD FLOORS in our living room to the tune of $525.00!!! The workers FAILED to properly cover our hardwoods, and one of them was actually "pulling a large garbage can" across our floor! I was livid! After the 2nd day of installs, the SAME TEAM was told to do the "stucco" repairs around both windows. DISASTER #2!!! Our stucco had to be REDONE 3 TIMES + Painted 3 times before it was finally done correctly! The installation workers, who barely spoke a word of English, communicated that they "didn't really know how to do stucco," and apologized for the major mess-up! They dripped stucco on our front porch pavers and stained them PERMANENTLY!! The stucco also dripped on our red front doors! We kept hearing the words, "I'm so sorry," both from the Hispanic installers, AND from the Andersen folks! Our next "Andersen Service" was scheduled for May 29, and I believe it was June 12th before the RbA mgr. came to be sure we were ok with the finished product! However, during the interim time, RbAndersen had reported to the finance company, Green Sky, that they had completed our job in APRIL, and that we should go ahead and begin our payments! What a LIE that was! We didn't even get the city of Orlando's final inspection until mid-June! This meant I had to fight my battle with Green Sky because RENEWAL BY ANDERSEN ACCOUNTING DEPT. WOULD NOT GO TO BAT FOR US TO CORRECT THEIR ERROR!! RbA nearly cost us our SPOTLESS CREDIT RATING by their incompetencies! I was calling their offices nearly every single day, and once the windows were installed, they REFUSED to return my calls, texts, and e-mails! You should SEE the folder I have that contains all of MY communication with no follow-up by RbA supervisors, or anyone else! Thankfully, Green Sky launched their OWN investigation into why RbA had reported that our project was completed in April 2024! That got the people at RbA on their heels, and they FINALLY reached out to us. I informed them that Green Sky was wonderful to help us, and that we no longer needed help from RbA!!! This whole project was a NIGHTMARE for us! Oh, and one other point ... when RbA first sent someone out to measure for our new windows, the guy had to come a 2nd time because he had measured incorrectly the first time! THAT should have raised "red flags" for us, but we just let it go! Oh, how we wish we had stopped the entire process that day!! Our windows are in, they look very nice, FINALLY,... our floors are repaired, and we were reimbursed the $525 we spent to get them redone. But we would NEVER, EVER USE RENEWAL BY ANDERSEN - ORLANDO, FL to do ANY work for us again!! We are just thankful that this 10-month nightmare is over!!! Now, we're watching our "electricity bills!" Of course, we were told that our energy bills would noticeably decrease! It's only been 1 month, but we didn't see much difference at all. Hopefully, that will change!

My wife and I purchased Andersen E Series windows and last month had them installed throughout our house. Our E Series windows are double hung, aluminum exterior, stained wood interior. I wish I could say the windows’ quality is what we had hoped for.
Issues with the windows include: split and checked wood, outside daylight showing through sash joints, raised and porous wood grain to the point it is very rough to the touch and difficult to clean, inadequate filling of nail and staple joints, and a stain color that is nowhere close to the sample provided.
The only thing more disappointing than the quality of the windows is Andersen Corporation’s Senior Field Service Manager’s response when he came on Aug. 6, 2024, and inspected the windows. The Service Manager acknowledged the rough finish on the windows and the raised grain. The service manager’s suggested fix was replacing the sashes only, with unfinished sashes to be stained the correct color, but leaving the rough finished wrong color frames which won’t match the new sashes. The Service Manager apologized that the solution he is offering is incomplete. The last communication I received from the Service Manager was on Aug. 7, 2024.
We went to show rooms and talked to previous customers before ordering these windows. I understand sometimes things go wrong. At those times it is very important to know how these problems are addressed and rectified.
Please forward to your friends. If you, a family member, or a friend is in the process of looking at Andersen windows, message me and I will set up a time for you to take a look at the windows they have sold us. They are not the show room pretty samples they parade out to their customers. Our windows are what Andersen’s quality control allows to be sent out to its customers. Come to our house, inspect for yourself before committing. Our window package installed was $48,000+. I expected more from Andersen than an incomplete solution. #windows
Installed a high end Anderson Window
Installed a high end Anderson Windows (13) about 10 years ago. Starting a year after they were installed the cranking operators started to strip. In the 10 years I've had to replace the cranking unit on all he windows, some of them are on their 3rd replacement. Contacted Anderson regarding the problem. Their response was we do not cover labor to replace the cranking unit. If this had been the first time I would have understood. This has been an ongoing problem. It would seem apparent to me this is an issue of 1) poor design, poor manufacturing, poor materials or poor construction. Anderson is failing to stand behind their product. To add insult to injury my wife did not want Anderson windows and felt Hurd, Marvin or Pella where better constructed. Now every time a cranking unit fail I have to live with "I told you so". Would not recommend Anderson to anyone.
Awful customer service
Storm door purchased at the big box store was junk. The opening for the glass was too wide resulting in the lower glass falling out.
Their oversea's customer service is even worse. After nearly 10 days of bickering back and forth they finally agreed to replace the door. Now they expect me to take a warranty document to the big box store so they can order the replacement. Why they can't facilitate this directly is incomprehensible.
Stay away for Anderson, the products are garbage and the overseas customer service department sucks!
Not all they’re cracked up to be
Oh my goodness I should’ve did more research before choosing Andersen, I have some bad cuts on the sides of my window frame , I have to pay Separate OCDs the security device for the windows ,The Cheapest replacement windows have the security device to keep the wind from raising all the way up,but Andersen wants you to pay separate for it I wish I did better research,I bought four Windows and paid $13,000 for them I need four more but I will not be using Andersen, Their customer service is not all it’s cracked up to be either , they think they don’t have to get back to me until they get ready because I paid cash for my Windows
Chris palmerini
I contact Chris palmerini at andersen windows about my order to see if I can get refund, he explained there's no such thing as refund. He is the worst andersen representative. All he care is money but not put his customer first. I am very disappointed my experience with him and andersen products will be my last time. His information phone number to reach is 631-786-7909. Be sure to keep his information if you come across him.
Anderson backed up their products and came to the aid of this customer,
ANDERSON DID THE RIGHT THING AND MADE IT RIGHT FOR THIS CONSUMER. THUS RESTORING MY TRUST AND LOYALTY
Anderson advertises they stand behind their products and they will give no runaround just back their products with a guarantee. They also say their windows and doors are superior to others and will last for years with NO quality issues. THIS IS NOT TRUE!! My Anderson French doors all failed in quality by falling apart, yes exactly what Anderson says in their adds about quality materials and construction is cheap deteriorating failure. I contacted Anderson and was told “sorry you will have to pay for any replacements. I paid thousands of dollars for junk Anderson products!
200 series exterior sills separating
Has anyone had problems with exterior sill separating on 200 series andersen windows. Sent service rep out but cannot fix correctly. Manufactured 2020, started noticing 2022 to present. Every sill is at different stages of separating
Damaged storm door windows…
AW keeps sending me storm door windows that are either damaged in the factory or literally battered around by UPS, in which I refuse delivery at arrival due to package damage being taped up. Either way, after 2 deliveries of damaged doors, I now await a 3rd attempt with "heavy duty" packaging!damaged windows through UPS. I am stuck with the very first door they sent as, even though their website claims you can return things, they refuse to provide me with a call tag to return the defective item, which was damaged prior to boxing! Had I accepted the bent box with tape that just arrived, I would be saddled with that disposal fee as well! Therefore, I simply refused delivery on appearance alone. The disposal cost on the first delivery will be mine, apparently... No one from the USA answering the phones. Have talked to 4 Asians with American names in the last week, and one of them flat out hung up on me. Terrible customer service!
Windows failed after four years - buy some other brand
In July 2018 I purchased a brand new Energy Star rated house, with a HERS rating of 48, from an expert builder, featuring Andersen windows. Anderson marketing literature claims a life of 20 to 40 years, for their windows. Four years later three large windows on the sunny side have failed, are leaking and damaging our home. A field rep came to look over the situation. He concluded this was not an installation issue but a product failure. The plastic frames were cracking and water was leaking in and damaging the structure and interior walls. AWC appears to be willing to replace the windows, while ignoring the reality that removal and re-installation will cost double the value of the windows themselves. Apart from the cost - am I going to have to replace the “replacement” windows again four years from now??
Anderson sells expensive windows, but their quality doesn't justify the price, the customer service sucks and their warranty is useless.
