The lady on the phone when placing my order is always friendly and helpful. The driver who always delivers our pallet is also polite and helpful. The logs are excellent and cut just right for our log burner

Used them for years. Great logs that are nice and dry and burn well and good delivery service.

Paid £135 for mixed bulk bag. Prompt delivery with pallet left where I asked. Well dried wood , only a couple of big logs which I can axe myself. Free bag of Briquettes and firefighters. Well pleased.

Online order placed and was in stock.
Free next day delivery.
The crate was really sturdy which made decanting the logs easier and safer.
The logs were all geed quality and around 13% moisture.
Extra Large Crate really was extra large.
Driver delivered with no fuss and placed crate exactly where I wanted it.
I was a 1 kilo firelighter pack short - 1 email and next day delivery - no fuss so perfect.

Since Arnies has been taken over the previous high level of service and communication is no more.
Additionally -
- The quantity you have to order has been raised to 20 nets.
- The prices have been raised considerably
- Deliveries are now to the kerbside not the property.
We’re now using an alternative supplier and I guess many other Arnies customers will move away too,

ARNIES GOT NEW OWNERS,i wanted to place an order but was told i have to order 20nets no less,at the higher price of course,tried to contact them on numerous ocassions,all the lovely staff have left,fortunately i have found a new supplier

I had bought from Arnies before - always great wood and super friendly.
Something changed on my last order.
The standard of wood was terrible.

I have a few cheaper options but these guys I assumed would always be great quality wood.
The last crate delivered, not only looked like it was the dregs of the yard, but there was an unacceptable amount of rotten pieces.
I queried it with them and got a sharpish answer back.

“ Sometimes during the processing and drying of kiln dried logs the bark can be stripped.

“This will not take away from the quality of the burn.”

I use a lot of wood to cook on, so know a bit about what’s good and what’s not. This wood was rotten, I then replied with more photos and even went to the effort of finding similar size pieces and sending photos of them on the scale. The rotten stuff weighed half and burning them was a joke, like balsa wood.

Arnieslogs did not even bother to reply.

I realise sometimes mistakes happen, but either they knew this was happening (all the rotten pieces were together, just under the top layer. Or someone in the yard is being lazy.

The fact that they have not bothered to reply says a lot.

Well Into my second year of buying logs through Arnies.
In my opinion they are very good value. Logs always clean and dry. I’ve bought nets and crates. Always good communication about delivery.
I’ve no reason to try elsewhere.

On the 8th March 2022 they sent me an email stating: "As a valued customer we wanted to give you the option to buy in advance of this increase, so what we have in stock** is staying at the pre-increase price, then we will have to increase prices in the region of 15% from next week".

As a result of their email of the 8th March, I placed an order on the 9th March; which was acknowledged the same day.

I did not hear from them about when the logs would be delivered even though I left messages on their telephone and emailed them at their email address.

Imagine my surprise when they sent me the an advert on 18th March 2022 stating:
"With the fuel price crisis and the cost of heating your home increasing, we are very pleased to be offering to our customers fantastic 10% discounts on many of our Crates of Kiln Dried Firewood, Birch, Oak and Hornbeam".

I would have changed the order from bags to a crate if the company had given me the option, by a coutesy call from them.

​This was to be a reduction of 10%, not a supposed increase of 15%.

I contacted the company about this and was told that someone would get back to me. I enquired when would I receive the logs, at which point they said the order had been overlooked and will be delivered soon, and that the company will call me to arrange a date. A few days later their delivery driver arrived with logs. Fortunately I was in, as no one telephoned me to arrange a delivery. Their delivery driver was excellent as was the driver of their previous delivery.

They refused to give me the 10% refund.

Driver so helpful helped me put logs away. Logs are just right for my multi burner. Will definitely order again.

Beware - I telephoned the Company and told them I wanted to buy 4m3 of logs. I was advised to buy a king size crate at 3.2m3 topped up with 12 sacks. The King size pallet arrived with 1.52m3 of stacked logs. When I queried this with the Company I was told it was the correct quantity and is sold "in the loose."
So beware 3.2 m3 as sold is only 1.52m3 when delivered

Good value and prompt service despite the difficult times. Well done.

I had to go to work before Arnies logs arrived. I left a note no the front door asking him where to leave them and he did exactly what I asked him to do. Can’t say more than that. Will certainly use him again. The log look super.
