I ordered a birthday cake with a portrait for my boyfriend and chose express delivery by 1 PM.
I spent the whole day waiting. I contacted customer support several times — they sent me a tracking link and claimed the cake had been delivered, but in reality, it hadn't arrived.
It turned out that I hadn't been charged for express delivery, which was confusing.
When I uploaded the photo for the cake online, there was an empty space left on the preview. In the final result, that space was filled with a blurred duplicate of the same image — it looked like a ghost behind my boyfriend’s face.
The cake finally arrived at 8 PM.
There was no poem note attached as requested, and unfortunately, the original poem is now lost forever.
Inside, instead of a half-sponge, half-chocolate filling, there was only sponge.
The surprise was ruined, and the day was full of stress.
But the cake tasted amazing!
When I complained, I received a sincere apology and a fair compensation offer.
Although it wasn’t possible to arrange for a cake to arrive on my own birthday, I did eventually receive a perfect one — beautiful and exactly as I requested.
So, in the end, although I was initially unhappy, the customer service team learned from the mistake and made things right.

We ordered a cake for our daughters christening from Bakerdays. We found communication good, the website had great variety, competitive prices & easy to use.
The cake arrived on time as agreed in the booking process. The cake was packaged nice & suitably packed with bubble wrap & looked amazing on opening.
Unfortunately though we then realised the cake had been knocked about in transit with a large split in the icing.
We took pictures, continued with using the cake as the christening was only the day after.
The cake, despite the "split" was stunning. Visually great, perfect icing/personalised name etc with lovely sponge & cream.
We then contacted the Bakerday team with the issue who have been absolutely 1st class. Professional, understanding, quick communication, offering their apologies & a complimentary cake as compensation for this unfortunate situation.
In all: Beautiful cake, Good prices, Awesome Customer Service & despite the issue, it ended a good experience.
I would definitely recommend, thanks guys.

I wanted to share my experience as a designer working with bakerdays. Unfortunately, it was not positive.
I was hired to produce digital marketing and design work for them, and while my initial drafts weren’t perfect, I was actively working on revisions and improvements as requested. However, before I could submit the revised designs, I suddenly received an email saying my contract was terminated.
It felt very abrupt and unfair, as I wasn’t given a chance to complete the revisions or prove that I could meet their expectations.
I understand businesses want high standards, but I wish there had been better communication and more willingness to collaborate rather than ending the contract so quickly.
This experience has left me quite disappointed, and I’d advise other creatives to clarify expectations in detail before engaging with bakerdays.
PS: I've just read some reviews here on Trust Pilot and most of them are negative. I guess it says a lot about this brand.
I ordered 2 cakes from Bakerdays for events at work, both to different addresses.
They confirmed the cake was what I wanted and sent me a picture to see if I was happy with the writing.
Both cakes arrived in good time and I was kept informed of the delivery.
The cakes looked good and tasted amazing, really light sponge.
We will use them again

Ordered a cake for my son’s first holy communion day celebration. The cake was delivered on time but it was very damaged. The cake was split and the chocolate filling was all over the cake tray beneath the cake. Couldn’t use the cake in the end. They offered a replacement but this was of no use as the event had happened and it was too late. I asked for a refund but they have refused. I would never use this company again and hopefully you will not make the same mistake.

My girlfriend surprised me with a chocolate cake from here to celebrate my new job and it was amazing!
The cake was delicious and it looked great, as you can see from the picture! It arrived on time and my girlfriend said the service was great.
I’m really happy with the product and I will be using this company again in the future. I highly recommend any cake lovers give these guys a chance too, i’m sure you won’t be disappointed!

Cake arrived promptly and in good condition unfortunately the personalized name had been iced incorrectly. I sent an email with photo of the cake but Bakerdays have ignored me. Then to make matters worse when the cake was eaten on 17th June, (delivered on 13th June), the sponge was quite dry. Very disappointing

The reviews are not wrong - AVOID AVOID AVOID. They say cake is for 10/12 people but it is smaller than a desert plate AND they missed the other part of the order namely the balloons. I want a refund and then im done with them and if no refund I will contact the bank!. So upset and disappointed as needed the balloons to decorate and plan in advance a surprise for my husbands birthday. Order placed in April, sent reminder a week before order was due - there is just no excuse for such rubbish service.
UPDATED 20/06/25: They also say on here that they are going to help but when you reach out to them their response is poor. They emailed to say they will get back to you within 24 hours - 72 hours on and still no response. Save yourself hours of stress and admin time and AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Cake has just arrived on time no problem with delivery. I have used this company many times before and never had a problem, but the picture on this one is dreadful and the writing is so dark you can’t actually read what it says.

Emailed them to try and order a gluten free cake for my parent's diamond wedding anniversary. Was promised this would be available and they could get it to me before the anniversary date. After waiting over a week I was told they couldn't source a gluten free cake so I changed it to a traditional cake (only one coeliac in the family) and they stopped replying to my emails and was unable to reach them by phone despite leaving multiple messages. Thankfully I've managed to source another cake but after years of receiving lovely cakes from them I'll never use them again. Its a shame as their gluten free cakes are the best I've ever tasted but the customer service is shocking. Avoid if you don't want a celebration ruined.

I have been very reluctant to write a poor review as have had good service from this company in the past and don’t make a habit of leaving bad reviews for anyone. However, I ordered a cake on 29th April to be delivered 6th May, cake did not arrive. Despite contacting Bakerdays several times by phone and email over the following couple of weeks, they have not resolved the issue. I was offered a ‘free’ cake to make up for problem but would not be a free cake as original never arrived (now 6th June). Eventually promised refund which would take 10 working days. Now nearly a month since cake was due and 12 working days since refund promised and still no refund, feels like basic dishonesty. Issue raised with Paypal today.

disgusting customer service. tricked into paying twice and error message came up after payment and no confirmation email, however it had gone through, waited 24 hours to see if email ever arrived it didn't, emailed them, no reply, placed another order this time showed successful still no confirmation email. so i phoned them to find they had accepted both orders. Advised they would cancel one and refund. No refund ever received. Do Not Trust Them

Ordered balloons and cake. Balloons arrived deflated and had been attempted to be sealed with sellotape. Contacted and asked for refund, offered to replace. When I insisted on refund I was told would take 10 working days. That was on 10th April, still waiting and dispute raised with PayPal.
We bought a Superhero tiered cake for our twin boys’ birthday party – went for the mixed sponge option and it was demolished in minutes. Great flavour, soft texture, and the design matched their favourite characters perfectly.
