I had a beauty treatment that went wrong. I spoke with Sian Taylor from the beginning, she was excellent all the way through the process. Anytime I had a question she responded promptly and explained it in a way that I could fully understand. My claim was dealt with within 11 months , it would have been sooner but the defendant caused some issues that Sian dealt with fairly quickly.

Overall a very efficient service, especially given the current Covid 19 challenges. Responses were fast and the information was clear and to the point. I felt confident that a thorough job was being done, whilst practical guidance was provided to tackle any potential risks arising with the property purchase.

I bought a house early this year and used Bartlett’s for our solicitor as they had rave reviews. We were given Louise Nelson as the person overseeing all our legal issues, I was quite happy because again she was highly recommended in the reviews. Unfortunately this is not the experience we had, she almost lost us our mortgage because she misspelled my name in a letter to the bank which led to our mortgage being declined and a week long appeal. This happened 3 days before we were due to exchange contracts. This was not the first time she and her assistant had misspelled information in important letters and documents, I had to raise the misspelling of my name on the transfer of deeds. The correspondence from Louise and her assistant were very sloppy and often late, for example the searches on our property were not given to us for 3 weeks after they had been completed. Louise claimed that they had not been done but the dates on the forms did not line up with her story.

Other issues with Louise is her manner in which she speaks to her clients, in the middle of our mortgage being declined due to her negligence she would speak down to me on the phone and ignore my concerns. We had to sort out the mess that she had created and get to the source of why the mortgage had been declined which was her fault. She is rude and very condescending when you speak to her. As first time buyers we were hopeful that a good solicitor would help us through the process but it was the opposite.

Another frustrating issue with Bartlett’s and more specifically Louise is contacting them. We were promised a call back or an email back on so many occasions and we ended up having to chase. On one occasion we had to wait 7 DAYS to get through to Louise.

Very disappointed in the service, very concerned with Louise‘s competency and attention to detail. I would not be advise anyone to go with Bartlett’s and definitely will not be using them again. We did not even receive an apology or compensation for having to pay extra rents due to a problem which they caused. Do your research and pay attention to negative comments.

We recently made a purchase of an apartment for investment and James Edwards, in the Commercial Property Department at Bartletts, provided a thorough and helpful service throughout. Given the crazy nature of this year, they provided timely updates as to any expected delays and current progress. Either James or Lois would provide responses in a reasonable time frame from any enquiry I made.
I would definitely recommend them for any work and will be using them again as well and they are very reasonably priced.

Total nightmare, trying to sell a house since December 2020, and the lack of communication is so stressful with Bartlett's.
You telephone and the solicitors never returns your calls, you email and they never return your emails, they couldn't do enough upon instructing them for their services, and went down hill fast after you become a client.
Communication and customer service skills need drastically improving. if you want added stress to either selling or buying your house in an already stressful time, these solicitors will give you more.
