Bassett Furniture - Club Level Parsons Leather Power Reclining Sofa

I purchased 2 of the Club Level Parsons Leather Power Reclining Sofas a couple of years ago and noticed head indentions pretty soon afterward. Also, the leg rest is not comfortable to prop your feet as it seems there isn’t enough “stuffing.” I sent a complaint to Bassett and they replied saying that was normal wear but that the indentions could be made better by having an upholster add some more fiber that they would send to me at no charge. I expected much better quality from sofas that cost what these did. I am also disappointed with the response from Bassett. I will not buy any more Bassett Furniture.

Poor quality for the price

My wife and I purchased a table and chairs from Bassett Furniture in Centennial in December 2025. The buying process itself was smooth, and we were initially impressed with the showroom quality. We explained clearly that we were looking for a modern table with a clean, blemish-free surface. We ended up spending significantly more than we had planned because of Bassett’s reputation and the apparent quality of the floor models.

Unfortunately, when our table was delivered in February, we immediately noticed significant issues. The tabletop had numerous indentations across the surface, and the chair staining was streaky and inconsistent from chair to chair. The table looked noticeably different from what we expected based on the showroom experience.

Bassett sent a technician to inspect the table. He told us the indentations were “worm holes” common in the type of maple used, and that “your table just ended up with a bunch of holes.” He said there was nothing he could do and directed us back to the sales associate. When we contacted the salesperson, we were told, “I ALWAYS tell people about the worm holes, so you may have just been overwhelmed and missed it.” We were never informed that the table would have visible surface holes — especially given that we explicitly requested a smooth, blemish-free finish. Had this been disclosed, we would not have purchased this piece.

After about a month of very light use and gentle cleaning with a soft cloth, the tabletop has developed numerous shallow scratches, further diminishing its appearance. For a purchase costing thousands of dollars, we expected durability and craftsmanship consistent with the brand’s reputation.
Instead, we are left with a table that looks worn and inexpensive, along with chairs that have uneven staining. Even more disappointing was the lack of accountability or meaningful resolution when we raised our concerns.

Based on our experience, I would strongly caution anyone expecting high-quality, premium furniture and strong customer support to think carefully before purchasing.

We bought a very nice leather Bassett…

We bought a very nice leather Bassett couch and love seat about four years ago. The love seat has been to the shop three times as the seat cushions have shifted making the whole sitting experience uncomfortable. A little less than a year ago the recliner switch assembly to raise the feet went out and was replaced, it has now gone out again. We spent the money thinking this would be the last couch and love seat we would buy. We gave out last couch to our daughter after 25 years, it still sits well…

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS MANUFACTURER.

Look elsewhere for quality customer service and product. Ordered a "quick ship" in stock modular sectional that was told would take 2-3 weeks to arrive. It took 6 weeks to arrive but the company sent the WRONG ITEMS. No one checked before loading it on a truck??? Then we were told the correct piece would be sent immediately, and now its been almost three extra weeks. NO ONE AT BASSETT RESPONDS OR ENGAGES AT ANY LEVEL TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. NINE WEEKS AND STILL MISSING THE OTHER HALF OF THE SECTIONAL!!!!

Bassett lies, cheats, and steals

My wife and I purchased a sectional from Bassett. When the delivery team arrived they came in an unmarked truck. Only one of three gentleman spoke English which made it hard to communicate about where the sectional should be placed. During the delivery the workers used our front garden beds as a trash pile. The cushions were placed in the wrong positions on the sectional. One of the cushions has the wrong filling. The workers did not connect the sectional pieces together. The chaise lounge creaks loudly and consistently when you sit on it. We are really disappointed in the quality of the product and the quality of service considering what we paid. I deeply regret not purchasing the sectional from La-Z-Boy.

We spent a fortune in the Rockville…

We spent a fortune in the Rockville store: a sofa, rocker, nesting tables, rug and pillows, along with a warranty for an additional $600.

The rep told us that "everything was covered for 5 years!" NOT TRUE. The rug is a piece of crap. It shreds and pills. It stains. We filed a claim and was told that the issues with the rug were a manufacturer issue and was not covered. It figures!

When you are making a purchase in a lovely showroom, you are excited, you forget to check the company out first.

We normally do not buy warranties, because of the "gotcha" issue. We spoke with the manager about the poor quality of the rug and that we were sold a useless policy and no one calls us back. So be warned! Salespeople will mislead you for the sales commission. NEVER AGAIN!

We have been speaking with Michael E. LeBlanc, General Manager. We sent him all of the information on November 4th and have not heard a word.

The Guardsman warranty is a total scam! Shame on Bassett for selling these sham warranties!!!

Lying like a rug is a apt statement to make about Bassett Furniture.

Comfy Sofas

Both of our sofas are from Bassett Furniture. They are pretty slow, but they were up front with us about the time it will take for the furniture to be delivered. Our sofas are super comfy. We bought the first one in 2017 and it's still I'm great condition. The second one we purchased late last year - same model, and just as comfy. They look really nice in our living room, too.

Bassett is great!

Dana out of the Tyler store is awesome! She knows her stuff, is an amazing decorator and can help you design a room that you’ll love! The furniture is expensive but it’s top quality and will last for years! I’m excited about my new bedroom suite! Linda H

Please don't buy from this company

Please don't buy from this company, they have zero customer service and don't stand behind their products even though they say they are committed to providing great customer care and say "delight guaranteed" on their website. I have never written a bad review before but this company has left me no options. I ordered an in stock sectional because I needed something quickly. I sat on the same one in their showroom and it was very comfortable. When it was delivered it was incredibly firm, like stiff as a board firm. They offered that I could purchase replacement cushions that would be softer. I did this and after 30 days of waiting the cushions were firmer than what I already had. The store admitted that the sectional in the store was broken in over time and they had complaints from customers about it being too firm, but I was not told that before I purchased. The store manager refused to help, the regional manager never responded to my email. I tried to resolve this with the Better Business Bureau and Bassett kept insisting that my sectional was custom since I "selected" it but it was an in stock item. Check them on the BBB site, there are tons of complaints against them. I posted a review on Google and they told me to contact them to help me to resolve it, I called and they said they didn't know why I called, there is nothing they can do. Wish I had checked reviews first.

4 months ago, I ordered a bedframe. Bassett quickly deposited my money and it still has not shipped. The customer service reps are polite but still have no idea when or if my $900 bedframe will be shipped. Now, I need to involve my bank's lawyers. Do yourself a favor. Shop somewhere else. Buyer Beware.
