Lovely setting, but.....
Beautiful part of the world, nestled on the boarders of Lancashire and North Yorkshire, this non commercial caravan site was our home for the week in between lockdowns 1 and 2, 2020. Non commercial and ideal for those seeking a relaxing break and a perfect hub for keen walkers, mountain bikers or those just seeking rural solitude. Confusing one way system and we were left to locate our abode from hundreds with zero instructions upon arrival. Caravan was basic and clean and parking outside for one vehicle. Appreciate facilities onsite were not available due to pandemic but regardless, pub, restaurant and onsite swimming pool didn’t look large enough to cope with a site that size. Our dogs were permitted to stay also however whilst the park boasts being nestled within 130 acres, there is very little dog exercise space. The sites fields contain livestock belonging to a local farmer and there are also poorly signed electric fences across public footpaths so do be careful of your pets. Electric tripped a few times during our visit and on occasion it felt that there were more workmen onsite than holiday makers? This is also primarily an owners park. Though travel was limited due to lockdown, we did venture out to nearby Gisburn Forest and to the local towns of Settle, Skipton and Clitheroe. Zero activities for children during our stay but that was expected. Very basic park with little amenities and probably best suited to those wanting a quiet break.
